Health Update:

FIL came home from the hospital last night. Seems to be feeling better. Blood tests were all negative so it must have been an infection or virus. Either way, he is feeling better.

Uncle still in hospital having fluid drains from his lungs. They think he'll recover, but it will be a few more days before he is past this episode and able to go home. In any event, he is resting comfortably with nurses at his beckon call.

And they say it comes in 3's. :headache::mad::headache: MIL was admitted to the hospital early this morning. They needed to call an ambulance due to pain and not feeling well. DW said they thought it may be Kidney stones:confused3, but who knows. At this rate, nothing is getting done around the house and we'll never be ready to travel in a few weeks. At this point, I may need prayers for everyone to get better so I don't have to cancel the Dominican trip.:headache:

Hope everyone gets well soon:good vibes, This Dominican trip means your going to Epcot right:confused3, I guess they added a new country to WS:mic:

Lots of angry messages to DDs school today. Every other school in the area was on 2hr delay this morning. I had late start for work so I was at home watching news and the school website. Waited till last minute for announcement and it didn't come in so I took them to school in my wife's car, since it has a heater. As I pulled into the drive at school a teacher came out and said they would delay 2hrs. Well the teachers were there so they could stay, I said fine and got her unloaded and headed back to house. I took my wife's blow dryer out to my truck and was trying to warm up the cab enough to get the ice off of my car when DDs teacher called and said they were cancelling school for the day. ***. Nothing like the last minute right? Finally got my truck drivable to pick her up, drop her off at my wife's office and slide on into work. Just get coffee made and started working when our company decided to close for the day.
I lost an entire morning cause the school and my boss couldn't decide when and if we should come in until I was already there.

This is just wrong on a few levels
- The school district really dropped the ball on what they were going to do
- How warm does a blow dryer get the cab:confused3, I found a great product in Bed Bath And Beyond, called the Lava seat, it is a cushion that you heat up in the microwave it works really well:thumbsup2

- You live in Texas right, How cold or how much snow do you get:confused3, I would think it would be like the weather would be like at WDW there:confused3

- got it up to about 35. Just warm enough the ice didn't refreeze as I scraped it.

- we don't get snow in this part of the State, just 3-4 days of ice. That's why I haven't fixed the heater in my truck. Winter will be over tomorrow and summer is just around the corner. Spring and fall are just a figment of imagination.

Thanks... it's improving... went to work today.

The rest of my dept. was out sick, but I champed up!

I'm bad, I took the low road and stayed home. I won't call in tomorrow, I promise. (Mind you, it is my day off):rolleyes1

This week is Catholic School week at my son's school, my son's class did a project about dinosaurs, both my wife and I made it to the two hour open house, during our visit the school was honored with a visit from The Bishop, he walked into my son's class and was looking at the projects, and he touched my son's and asked about it, the teacher had my son tell The Bishop about it, that was such a honor, my son and wife did 97% of the work on it, and my wife said it was definitely worth it:thumbsup2

I just saw the concert schedule for the Flower & Garden Festival, it looks like the week we will be there is Herman's Hermits featuring Peter Noone:rolleyes1
Maybe after a good dinner at Teppen Edo maybe we will go see them, the only 2 songs I know of are, Mrs. Brown & Henry the 8th:confused3 Just a little before my time, but not by much:eek:

Morning guys. After three failed attempts, I will be heading up to northern New Siberia (Ft. Wayne, South Bend). They lifted the travel restrictions yesterday, yay! I hope you guys down south make out ok, I know this is unusual for you to have to deal with this.

Read on Facebook that Mark and Julie are at the hospital. Hoping they have a fast and easy delivery.

Good morning guys. Not even gonna comment on the cold temps as this @#$% is just old already. Should be Monday as DS is home sick today with the crud and the CC has been hacked which means new ones coming overnight which means have to change every iTunes, Amazon, Disney, etc etc account with new card information :crazy2: Card has fraud protection so no hit to us for the fraudulent charges so a minor pain in the backside to change stuff I can deal with...

Ouch. It is reaching the point where you almost expect your CC to be hacked at some point. Hope DS is recovering.

All the work is done for the remainder of the day, almost remainder of the week. Time to bring in the pillow tomorrow...

You are like CJ-in-training without the good pay and sunshine.

Mid April we are set to leave. I have a feeling we will be there for Easter.

:cool1:

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. MIL has Sepsis. I had to go look it up. It is basically a full body/blood infection that can be fatal if it god untreated. Apparently all the medications she takes daily can mask the early symptoms. In ICU and being treated. DW didn't sound overly concerned when she called with the update so I am guessing she is on her way to recovery or at least the prognosis is good.

And it's only Tuesday.:scared::faint:

Glad they have diagnosis and hope they get her on the mend.

Good morning gents! Only dealing with the very cold single digits here but nothing like GA, NC, SC & VA. Hope all are safe and at home. For those up north if you have not seen or heard, the Atlanta schools did not get all the kids home yesterday with 1 being stuck on a bus with the driver due to being stuck in grid lock traffic. It's Atlanta, when they predict a couple of inches of snow just close school for one day as it is not worth it. Have a good one guys and be safe / stay warm.

Good Morning and welcome to the middle of the week.

Heading in for an MRI on the knee tomorrow at 6AM. Went to a new Orthopedic doctor. He thought it would be a good idea since there is still some concerns and the original surgeon never had one done. If it shows the healing is complete with no issues, I'll be cleared for full activity finally. 2 years of limited activity have really taken their toll. Hoping to be able to start the walking and jogging soon. Wish me luck!

I've also heard that if you took all of the blood vessels from an adult male and laid them end to end, he'd be dead.

:rotfl2: Technically speaking......Aren't they all end to end now.:rotfl2:

Considering all the challenges with the weather and associated schools handling of, family health situations ranging from the common cold to the ICU, FP+ and its apparent gaps at this point, a Super Bowl that does not appear to have a DISDad team favorite in it. Here's an Irish toast and a tip of the glass, to a group of guys that have a lot of class - cheers

Always remember to forget
The troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

:thumbsup2 Cheers!

Do you guys know the average human body contains enough bone to make an average human skeleton ?

If you are hearing voices in your heads telling you this things I suggest a trip to Disney immediately.

I saw them at Chautauqua with Paul Revere & The Raiders, and The Monkees (minus Mike Nesmith) back in the 80's sometime. Great concert! Mike never needed to travel with the Monkees after his mother died. She invented liquid paper and left him a nice chunk of money.

So I live in north Florida Last night we had freezing rain and it stayed pretty cold (yet again this is florida we are talking about) when I went to get in my car this morning my door was frosen shut and I had to pour 2 gallons of water on my wind shield to be able to see out of it.

I would be pretty mad if I were you sorry for that.

.

My heater is not quite that bad. However, ice did form on the inside of my windows last week as a driving at 7:00 AM on Parkway.

That is. Our diocese got a new bishop 2 years ago and he made his rounds to all the churches. My dds got a group photo with him.

Terrible stories. I can't imagine having your child spending the night at some random school. Just another example of terrible taxpayer education system.

2 years of limited activity have really taken their toll. Hoping to be able to start the walking and jogging soon. Wish me luck!
!

Sounds like a great 2 years. Who would be silly enough to jog?:lmao:
Hope the knee checks ok.

Thanks. Did you hear Suntory bought out Jim Beam and Maker's Mark?

That means my KY bourbon will now be imported, and I'll have to pay more.

Morning DIS Dads!

Hope all who are frozen find ways to keep warm today. Our part of Texas is certainly cold but not horribly so. The ice storm last week was much worse. The head cold that has moved into my cranium...well, that's another story.
