Southwest flights for July were just released this week. Had butt to pick from for Sunday July 20th plus wanted 10,500 points per person. So, rather than dealing with that, added a day and getting there early now on Saturday July 19th as there are more direct flights to choose from and only 5,500 points per person and a no hassle DVC add a day to existing reservation

There's these things called ice scrappers. they come in real handy for mornings like that.

I have lived in this part of Florida for 8 years..... This is the first time this happened. Have not needed to have a scrapper till now.

Crazy - especially when this stuff gets that far south. Be safe.

So bored. All my work is done for the rest of the week. Snore. Think I'll go plan some time off work next month.



No snow or rain here at all - just cold. Don't usually think of Florida and ice.

I know how you feel about work I'm working on hour 9.5 of 12. Normally Ice and Florida are not buddies.

Careful with that move.. Many a windshield has been cracked using this method.

I made sure the water was cold and I didnt have any more time before i would be late for work.

Yikes, that was what we had the morning of Dad's viewing. Nasty stuff, I admit I had to check the news to see exactly what happened. I guess I take some of the weather for granted, never even blink at ice/snow/cold. Really ugly thing is under all the snow we got, that ice from just before Christmas is there (and there is snow under that too IIRC). Going to take a long time for this to all thaw out.

Everyone down there stay safe and warm thoughts. Just think of the July/August heat!

So I live in north Florida Last night we had freezing rain and it stayed pretty cold (yet again this is florida we are talking about) when I went to get in my car this morning my door was frosen shut and I had to pour 2 gallons of water on my wind shield to be able to see out of it.

That's what we refer to here as... Morning.

Still waiting for August to open up with SW. I think they had the first week posted, but we are traveling the 20th. Moved out Sunday to Tuesday for better rates.

Get rid of it now. In-laws are on their way to your part of the state and I don't want to hear them complain about the cold when they picked the area. They could have gone anywhere.

I thought people moved to Florida to get away from that crap.

It has got to be panic in the streets down there... if people can actually get out of their houses. I have to say that I do feel your pain. I was complaining about our -10 air temps earlier this week, but truthfully that is actually a little less annoying than a half inch layer of ice on everything.
