‘Morning all…
Finally got around to decorating the house for the holidays (which probably wins me the annual prize for being last to get it done). I don’t think we put up even a quarter of what we normally do but the move is still not completed, the house is still rather disheveled and we’re just simply over it. We’ve spent so much time and cash on the house that we also aren’t really planning on doing much in the way of presents this year. Unless you count light fixtures, faucets, and miscellanies bits of furniture as Christmas presents. Well… we are finally replacing the old cathode-ray tube TVs with a couple of 50” LCDs; that may actually constitute a holiday type of acquisition.

Well, the progeny is encased in an aluminum tube, 30,000 feet in the air about to cross the border into Florida. It will be a shock to her system after leaving snow and temps in the 20's to sun and 80 degrees. Have to admit I am looking forward to seeing the kid. Of course that will only last a day or two.

I will tell you I am tired of this health kick she is on. Back from the store with almond milk (wonder what that tastes like), multi-grain bread and granola cereal. Would be embarrassed if anyone saw me.

I’m sure the reunion was a great lift on the day. Enjoy the first couple of days of having the young’en back in the nest. It does ware off after a couple of days as everyone gets back into old habits.

As for almond milk… it’s passable in a good cereal but I wouldn’t drink the stuff straight or ruin a good cookie or brownie with it.

I hate those type of meetings - pointless & boring. But, I enjoy those rides. I have slept the most in the France movie.

“France” is a good one; SSE isn’t bad either if you’re at Epcot and need to rest the eyes. “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” and “One Man’s Dream” have excellent comfy seating as well and also make for good napping spots. The TTC and Hall of Presidents win the distinction over at MK. There ain’t much at AK that fits the bill though.

That's some good information I appriciate it.

So if you only use 64 points and you have more you could bank them and stay more than once a year? I guess the point of that question is do the points expire?
it.

Now is where you get the tricky stuff. You receive an annual allotment of points. You can bank some or all forward 1 year and/or borrow them back a year. Otherwise, they expire. Regardless, you still pay the annual dues on the allotment of points. If you click on DVC point charts above, each resort has the number of points needed for type of room - studio, 1 BR, 2 BR, GV & different views - standard, preferred, lake, MK, etc. That same room at same time with preferred view would be 87 points. At a different resort, it could be 92. Then, that home resort interest in play. That room category will be booked by 7 month mark.

There is also Use Year, which operates like a Fiscal year, however, they are different among owners.

Ultimately, I combined points leftover from last UY & borrowed some points for the Spring Break trip & am using the remaining 64 for fall break trip.

I think it has been about a week since I've logged in.

I hope everyone is doing well. Thoughts and prayers to those in need.

Good morning and glad Monday is over. Blackhawks are in town tonight so we are going to get to see them live again. Here's hopefully a little Christmas cheer to get through Tuesday - have a great one Dads.

Enjoy having her home, DD landed back home over a week ago. Great to have her home but nor without it's headaches like "do your shoes really belong in the middle of the kitchen?" :lmao:

Had a great day with my mom and youngest child at school. They put on the annual Renaissance Fair with 4th & 5th grade student. So, I worked a half day and saw the show. Then, in the mail, I received a state audit tax notice from 2011 that I owe $183. Now, I have to dig out those files and see if I can dispute it.
Good deal on the fair and some family fun. Sorry about the tax notice though, that sucks.
Speaking strictly as a former dairy farmer - just how the hell do you milk an almond? ::confused3

Morning all. Everything is still status quo. Worked half a day yesterday and spent sone time at the hospital. Today I am off and will make my way up there.

Sorry about the audit. I'm pretty sure I would just send them a check and be done with it. Who knows what else they'll "decide" needed an adjustment. Good luck finding the information and getting it resolved.

Sounds like the fair was a good time.

 Leave that almond alone! Can't say I have ever tried or will ever want to try almond milk. We already eat multi-grain bread in our house. You can still be embarrassed since we can picture you buying it in the store now.:lmao::lmao:

Supposed to start the next round of snow soon. Forecast says 5-8 inches. Not looking forward to it as everything is frozen already. Was -2 degrees this morning when I went out to start the car. It's up to 9 degrees now according to the thermometer.

Lost my semi-final in FFB last night since Torrey Smith decided to lay an egg. I lost by 1 point.:headache: 10 more stupid yards was all I needed. Getting into the Superbowl of the league would have guaranteed a $550 payday even with a loss. Stupid Ravens!:mad: Why not kick another field goal, who needs touchdowns. Did I mention I used to not like the Ravens?:confused3 Now it's not even a dislike. It's more like a hatred. :furious: I may need to add a second nemesis to my list, especially with the Pats playing in Baltimore next Sunday.

Hi guys. Remember me? I know I've been MIA for a while... (actually spent some time in MIA as well, but that's beside the point).

Had a great dinner with CJ last week when I was in his neck of the woods. Always great chatting with him as we seem to fall into comfortable old friend mode so quickly. Cathcing up on family, holidays etc. This is what is so great about this group. Everyone I've ever met has always been just like catching up with old friends.

Hope she made it safe. Tell her the shock from 20 to 80 is nothing compared to the shock of 80 to 0 that I experienced last week. That was brutal.

Sounds like a pretty awesome Christmas to me!:thumbsup2

:welcome: Randall will be around to assign you your number.

I'm sure it'll be great to have her home. And I'm sure she will be thrilled to enjoy 80-degree weather.

Just tell me you don't have to buy another tofurkey. :crazy2:

My wife and I do the healthy eating thing as much as possible. I tried and could not drink the almond milk but she said it goes well with honey nut cherrios.... I'm not going to waste a bowl of them to try it.

She made it home around 12:30 and I finally went to bed at 3:00. Clyde is asleep on the couch surrounded by barb wire with the mutt I did not want guarding him. Did not feed the dog last night and he has this look while he eyes the kid's leg. They got home hungry of course so he ate all my stuff, she had fried rice I made for the other night. Almond milk crap was not touched but put in the fridge. She is lucky I let her put it in there.

No Tofurkey for Christmas. I am still deciding on what to have (I am thinking dead cow) but her "entree" is going to be some kale, spinach, cheese thing they have at a Trader Joe's that just opened up.

Barry, no idea how to milk an almond. Never tried it, never will. Same with cows though. Brent, too funny. Hope you got a chuckle over it. Take care bud.

Great seeing you again and the restaurant was very good despite my misgivings. May take the kid there. We screwed up and didn't take a pic but WTH. Give the kids a hug especially my girl. Cold snap right now, we are currently in the 70's but it is expected to get in the high 50's tonight.

Wooo! That's cold, you'll need your winter jacket.:rotfl2::rotfl2::lmao::lmao: We haven't seen 50 in weeks. For us, that's a beach day.:thumbsup2

We are going Italian for Christmas this year. Lasagna, meatballs/sausages, pasta, antipasto salad and the likes. Got a new bacon stuffing recipe that we plan to try just because it has bacon. If it's good, we'll send the recipe.

CJ, I tried to send you a PM, but got an error that your box was full. I think you have some housecleaning to do.:lmao::lmao: Please PM me your address.

With big family get togethers, we always had a dish from the old country. Not this year since it will be a smaller gathering. Going back and forth from cow to pig for the meal. Always have a routine for the holidays, turkey for Thanksgiving, meat eaters choice for Christmas and ham for New Year's Day.

Stitch must have left Norm's mailbox to visit my Dis mailbox. Scared him away so it should be good now.

I was looking and resale is the way to go. If you buy resale are you treated the same way that someone who bought direct would be treated? It is starting to make more sense to me the more I look into it.

Yes and no. They changed the rules a few years ago so resales cannot use points for anything outside DVC resorts. As an example, you cannot use points for a DCL Cruise. Which is no big deal to me because that isn't a good use of points. At the resorts, reservations, privileges, discounts, booking dates etc., are the same as someone that bought points from Disney.
