CRUD. :faint:

Don't know if I mentioned it here or not, but I've started a new position (no, not a promotion, just a lateral transfer). It's going well, but I've been busy and my DIS time has suffered as a result. Anyway, I can confirm a FreezinRafiki sighting last week during their Amazing Delaware Vacation (with side trips to D.C., Baltimore and Philly). We had a great time with Barry and family!

Did the lateral transfer that created more work come with lateral pay scale? :faint:

‘Morning all…
One more day of cold and wet and then we get about a week of actual spring. :cool1:
Too bad I’ll still spend it locked up at work though :sad2:...

Here's hoping you get some Spring to enjoy sooner rather than later. :wizard:

We warmed up today which was nice. I spent 5 1/2 hours on the road drinking coffee and listening to the radio for a 90 minute meeting. Only crocuses blooming so far, but the daffodils are close.

WooHoo!!
Work does that. I’ don’t get on over here as often as I’d like any more either.
And… I’ve got TR’s that aren’t making any progress as well. I need to try to fix that..

That is why I do the live trip reports. It is over and done.

Morning Guys, I think someone forgot to tell that calendar that is it mid-March, holy crap it's cold! I am so done with this polar vortex.:

Polar vortex is over. This one has a new name. Both still blow.

Every time I say or write BLT I think 'bacon'.
:

It is the other way for me. When people say the sandwich, I think of the resort.

Those efficient meetings. Safe travels.

You could do much worse than going with UL again.
I have them up to the finals, but repeats, while not impossible, are tough.
So I couldn’t go with them winning it all (a decision I may well regret).
)

I doubt they will repeat, as that is really difficult. I certainly can't pick Florida to win it. :lmao:

Howdy fellow dads, It's official, have ToT 10miler registered, flights booked and now SSR studio booked for Oct 2nd-5th. I feel like I booked this one completely backwards so now gotta research Disney again since it looks like quite a bit has changed in a year, and I feel like I know nothing about Fastpass+.

The ToT 10 miler is a great run, you'll enjoy it. The party in the park afterwards wasn't too great, but seeing as it's about midnight-1 am when you finish, it's not that big of a deal! Have fun!

Thank you, looking forward to it, unless a friend or one of my parents decide to come with DD and I, ill be doing Disney World Baby sitting during the 10 miler so prob wouldn't do more then the tower of terror after the race and an early Sunday morning flight lol

Whoo hoo I'm first this morning. So Sunday at about 1530 the power went out.... while not a huge deal still inconvenient. The real problem is that I live in a "community" and everyone rents. I called the Leasing office and got a call back saying "we know about it and are working on it." My first thought is ok power company should be out in no time and we will be back in business.

I could not have been more wrong. It turns out that the issue could not be fixed by the power company and it had to be fixed by the leasing office. Yet again not a huge deal if they had done it. At 2200 the FB page for the leasing office informed us that the power would not be fixed until the morning..... I had some very choice words on that subject. Mainly it is poor customer service to leave your residents w/o power then go home for the night.

So they went home and we had no power for the night then because of that DS slept like crap and surprise surprise DW and I did too. In the morning the housing office informed us they were working on it but they had no time table available (insert more choice words here). Fast forward to about 1730 (over 24 hrs later) while DW and I were talking about bailing to the In-Laws the power finally comes back on. We had to replace pretty much everything in the fridge/freezer.

I am most mad that if the power company had been the one to fix it we would have had power back in at most 3-4 hours and the housing office is not taking responsibility for not fixing it in a timely manner. I think it is time to really look for a new place to live.

We can now take advantage of the Tuition credit.
But that ends up going toward paying tuition, so we still can’t travel for a while.
Win some… loose some.

Hey at least you have a good attitude about it.

Good morning guys and hope all are well. Had a great meet with Chris during keys to the kingdom tour - again happy 40th Chris.

I think you might be right, that is very irresponsible. Perhaps everyone in the community should submit expenses to cover the losses incurred, send a message

Cool meet up...

Good morning guys. :surfweb:

Back to insanity today. Looks like 2 inches of new snow to clean things up after being gone for the week. I have not looked at my work email in 8 days... Guessing about 800 emails will be in there. :badpc:

I should have taken the DME driver up on his offer: "Ok folks, this is your last chance. Just stay on the bus and I'll bring you right back."

That is pretty poor service. Is there a tenants group that could push for compensation or something?

Good morning!

Totally agree. That is horrible customer service. I'd understand if it was maybe something that couldn't be fixed right away, but at least communicate that with everyone!!! I own my own home and I know if my power went out on a Sunday, and it was a problem on my line that the power company can't touch, I'd be on the phone with any electrician I could find to get them out there without worrying about paying for Sunday hours.

I think you might be right, that is very irresponsible. Perhaps everyone in the community should submit expenses to cover the losses incurred, send a message
Great idea. I'm sure they'd just laugh and drop it in the trash can, but maybe if enough people tried to submit those expenses that might at least be a wake up call. :confused3

No idea...we have rarely lost power in the building, no idea how to go about these things. Even in the aftermath of the Ice Storm of '13, we were one of the few buildings that never lost power.:confused3 Knock on wood

‘Morning all…
Think I’ll take this afternoon off of work and go home and do some real work on my house.
At least I’ll be able to see both progress and sense in that endeavor.

A lateral move huh? I hope congrats are in order (and more money as well).
Are you looking forward to the change or was it a method of escape from the older situation?

Glad you got to meet up with Barry’s clan during their “Amazing Delaware Vacation”.
So what did you treat them to that will have them remembering that part of the trip over those rather insignificant side destinations?

That is why I do the live trip reports. It is over and done.

And that’s a good method to be sure (and I’ll agree… probably a smarter one).
Actually, I like to write them up afterward because it’s a narrative that I do for myself and family. I just happen to use The Dis as the format for doing the work. It’s not like very many folks every bother to read up on them anyway. I also like working out how I want to tell the story, I’ve just gotten a might overwhelmed these past few months, but I think I may be getting to a spot where I can get back at them now.

I doubt they will repeat, as that is really difficult. I certainly can't pick Florida to win it. :lmao:

I can see your predicament there. :rotfl2:
Oh, and I don’t have Fla. winning it either (we’ll see how that goes)

Wow, bad situation there, but…
maybe y’all could shame them into some kind of penance. I know our local televised news programs just love to do stories about how some business or scam-business has ripped-off or unfairly taken advantage some member of the general public. Outrage makes for good copy. Call up your local news outlet and see if they wouldn’t be interested in a story about how a local “slum-lord” has callously victimized our veterans and even took food out of the mouths of young children.

Perception is everything.

Happy hump day fellas!

What? No inspirational photograph?

Oh… and a good morning to you sir!

Very cool.
I’d like to take that tour sometime.

Getting off that bus would be difficult.
But an empty wallet does make it a necessary evil.

This is where I need that "Ha ha ha ha ha....NO" smiley Rob and Randall use once in a while.

Same pay, different job. It might be a little less stress, though. So I have that going for me, which is nice. It was a chance to do something new and get away from the stress/burnout of the old job, and get that "diverse experience" everybody always wants from me when they shoot be down for promotions.

Glad you got to meet up with Barry’s clan during their “Amazing Delaware Vacation”.

Key Lime Pie of Awesomeness.:thumbsup2
