Good morning!

More importantly, we've now gone 2 whole Thanksgivings without any disciplinary actions. Yay us! :cool1:
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Ah yes. The great blackout. I remember being on my way to Disney and getting messages asking if I had been banned. Good times :lmao:
I still remember stopping at a McDonalds near Atlanta to grab some breakfast and seeing all the aftermath on Facebook. :rotfl2::rotfl:

The Pirate Princess is safely back in the Land of Pirates. Rough couple of weeks getting ready for finals but then, vacation time. I have no sympathy for her.

Glad she made it safely. Please pass on our wishes for a successful finals run! The food looked good, except for that tofu thing. Almost looks like haggis.:lmao:

Tree looks good. Ours is still not up. DW is trying to figure out where to put it. I had a wisea$$ suggestion, but that just got me some stern looks.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Here is a little something for you to play with today.

Tinkle McSparkle signing out.

Hey Darcy. Festive McBlizzard here.

+1

I'll take good old fashioned lake effect snow over I've any day. Miami looks better all the time.

Key Largo is going to look even better starting tomorrow. To all my northern friends in the storm's path, stay safe.

Hey CJ, if you can put in a request to the Dolphins to lose the game this weekend, the Patriots will wing he division again by beating the Browns. Browns signed a QB off the street and plan to start him. That should work out well.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Win it like a man when the Fats come to Miami next week. People down here are under the mistaken perception the Fins might still make the playoffs.

We get to keep a certain number of vacation days & roll them to next year based on years of service. Currently, I get to keep 30 days. However, my Dec/Jan leave is all holiday/ OT leave.

We get to roll over 20 days by policy. I however am rolling over 50 days, yup 10 weeks. When I discussed it with the owners they explicitly refused to allow me to take the last 6 weeks of the year off. I'll use all of my new balance next year, but no may I'll ever get to take 15 weeks next year.

I love your job!

It seems enjoyable, does it not?:thumbsup2 And it comes with a pension!

Tuesday napping at work ownage.

I don't get Colts tickets.

You can dream about getting the tickets during your nap.:lmao::lmao:

Updates on the father situations. FIL is quite comfortable in the hospital, it's double pneumonia but will be fine.

Way more concerned with my own father, he's not looking or sounding very good. Going for a new, hard hitting chemo next week, directly at his lungs which are getting worse. He's going to Kay very low this holiday season, even to the point he confided in me he might not even go out for Christmas dinner at my brothers if the chemo is Taft bad, going to mark up his face with blemishes and sores. They are arranging for him to see a lung specialist. We did a small job today and it just took everything out of him, laying down. Never seen him like this.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Hey Brent. Glad FIL is on the mend. Prayers for your Dad and the medical staff for successful treatment. Stinks that it is around the holidays. If there is anything we can do, let us know.

Hey Guys,

Productive day today. The Apple Geniuses fixed the last issue with the computer (again it did not cost me a cent) and I finished Christmas shopping. Well, except one gift for SIL but that will be done online and I have until early January. Decided to celebrate with lunch and a cocktail at Cheesecake Factory. Even Chris's Not so Secret Santa gift arrived. Who knew Amazon sold coal?

Spent the afternoon working on a video of the Kona trip including our dives for the kid. She wants to present it to her Ecology Club. If you want to spend 15 minutes of your life you will never get back, the link is below. The video quality isn't the best but they don't have an HD option on Youtube.

Nice video. We plan to do a lot of snorkeling in February when we get to the Dominican, but none of us dive. Watching makes you want to give it a shot.

Some more Christmas decoration pics to hopefully help with the holiday spirit. DS favorite village is of course, Mickeys Christmas Village.

Thanks for posting!

Yup, I pee stripper dust.

My first thought was Pixie Dust, but OK.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey David! Do you have a months supply of bread, milk and eggs??? They're calling for 3 inches of snow. Might as well call it blizzard 2013. We'll be snowed in until spring.

I love how the news always hypes these storms. Especially the first significant snowfall of the season.

Well dads, my mom broke her hip last week and my 31 year old brother who lives in her basement almost burnt my house down on thanksgiving. He also told my mom she should go into a rehab hospital because it's too hard for him right now.

My question is: should I kill him now or after my disney cruise?

In reality, I just wanted to vent to y'all bc I know you all have family members that tick you off at times.

First, prayers for your mom on a quick recovery.

Now on the brother thing, the phrase "beaten to within an inch of death" seems to be a good place to start. We all have them in the family somewhere. Hope he gets some perspective soon. If termination is the final option, I suggest a third party while on the cruise to provide a solid alibi upon your return.:goodvibes

Good morning Dads! Celebrating 20th anniversary with my wonderful DW today, who'd a thunk

Congratulations! That certainly is a big milestone. And the big gift was?

We are at 17.

:santa: Some pics of the outside Christmas decor :santa:

Looks great, thanks for posting. Will try to get ours posted soon.

Just wait til you hear what happens when he makes a twosie! :scared1:

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Thank you.

Not sure I could eat Lucky Charms after that image.:laughing:

Good morning Dads! Low key but enjoyable 20th anniversary last night. As in my response to CJ I tried to sell DW that the 20th is red meat and liquor but she got diamonds anyway............ well look at what I got :thumbsup2

Not looking forward to the potential freezing rain / ice weather the next couple of days that may hit here but to those north of TN stay safe as it looks like you are gonna get it worse. Have a good one guys and thanks again for all the nice thoughts on our anniversary

:welcome:

Randall will be around to assign you your number. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Good to see you checking in. The question is how long can you not be here to actually be here?:lmao::lmao:

Good afternoon gentlemen. We had a preschool field trip this morning to see a Christmas play. After seeing what those teachers deal with I think I'll be getting the teachers a gift card to the local grocery (liquor) store. We've got a couple of inches of snow on the ground now and it'll be 4-6" before it is all said and done.

We always get something small for the kids teachers for putting up with out children. I know it's not easy.

My nephew starts his acting career tonight playing Tiny Tim in A Christmas Carol production in NH. We are going to the show on Sunday and probably a couple more times before it ends. He has a genetic defect so at 10 years old is only around 40" and about 60 lbs. He does very well for himself though. He'll make a great Tiny Tim and we can't wait to see it. :thumbsup2

Let the race begin. The top four are all Team Sparrow members. Way to be lazy and post guys. I toast you with a beer. :drinking1

:cool1::cool1: I have missed more days in the last 2 weeks than I can count and I'm still up near the top. Everyone must be slowing down on this thread.

Hey Paul. Where ya been?:rolleyes1

Ah yes. The great blackout. I remember being on my way to Disney and getting messages asking if I had been banned. Good times :lmao:

How many Dads got banned that day? Sounds like something I should have been a part of.

Hey Darcy. Festive McBlizzard here.

Hey Festive,

Will send your wishes on. Her streak of A's is going to end this semester. She is fighting for a B in one of her classes and the sad thing is that it is an elective. Surprised that you only got stern looks at your suggestion. Others have been hit upside the head with a cast iron frying pan for wisea$$ suggestions.

Nice haul. See you have your supplies for storm. Steaks and bourbon can go a long way to take the chill out of the air.

Good Morning, Prayers for those in need; Praise for those deserving; Disney & Bacon for All!

Good Morning Sir! How is the hip? Are you up and running yet?

Key Largo is going to look even better starting tomorrow. To all my northern friends in the storm's path, stay safe.

Win it like a man when the Fats come to Miami next week. People down here are under the mistaken perception the Fins might still make the playoffs.

With the crazy way things are going, they have as good a shot at that 6th spot as anyone else if they can make a decent run over the last few weeks. I am hoping that the Patriots have something to play for down the stretch so they keep the foot on the pedal. All of my fantasy teams should be out of it by the end of the weekend and I need a reason to keep watching on Sundays.

OK, now that I'm caught up. Does anyone plan to make a run for the end or are we letting this one die a slow death?

my wife was freaking out last night for you all. We are not under any warnings but she was showing me how the Weather Channel had posted on FB to stock pile food because power outages were expected.

Since when did the weather channel get into the fear ramping business. I knew they quit forecasting the weather but geez.

Wrong answer, please try again.
I was waiting for someone to call me out on that.
I'm with you. I was not a big fan of Biergarten.
But see?! Norm's on my side. We're both closer to Mexico than you are so I'm sure that's got something to do with it.
Scattered across the boards is my opinion of the prequel trilogy. Short version: Great idea with terrible execution due to stiff acting, scripts that needed another rewrite, and over using CGI.
:thumbsup2+1
It is the 5th now ain’t it.
Shouldn’t this be a national holiday?

So then, I can go home now? I'll tell everyone you said it was ok.

Good Morning Sir! How is the hip? Are you up and running yet?
He's ready for the half. :lmao:

I don't know. It seems like they must think that's what it takes to get ratings. :confused3

I need to get a few bags of salt but that's all I'm worried about.

The past few years, we've been having power outages somewhat frequently if we get a strong wind or ice. It is typically back within an hour or so, but in preparation for the time that it doesn't, I just purchased a generator so that we can at least plug in some heaters and lights to keep the house comfortable. And I hope it stays in the barn all winter. :rotfl2:

You packed yet?

Not one bit. I didn't realize we'd be going to WDw in the middle of a bathroom reno project. It's thrown everything for a loop. Haven't even looked at my tourinig plans lately or figured out how to surprise the kids yet.

I bet Darcy could take care of the bathroom for you while you're gone.
