Hope everyone had a good weekend and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I went to the Giants game on Sunday and froze my butt off. I think I just finished thawing out. It was so windy that the portapotties in the parking lots were flipping over. It was 27 degrees with a 30mph wind with gusts towards 50.
Nothing quite as appetizing as the thought of tailgating next to flipped over portapots. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Should be great weather for Superbowl. :crazy2:
No kidding. But, I'm glad to see that they're doing an outdoors game in a cold environment. It may not be as fan friendly, but it should be good for the game. Playing indoors or in warm weather all the time definitely favors certain styles of play. This at least tips the scales the other way a bit for this Superbowl.

I think you forgot that this is NY (well NJ) Eating next to a flipped over portopot is the least of your worries. Lol

We were the 10th car into the parking lot. They were flipped over before being used. So it wasn't like they were full...

Prayer request. A co-worker had her front door kicked in and house robbed. Neither she nor husband were home.

Wow, that's awful. Hope the police get some good leads and track them down.

A happy (very) Belated Birthday to Mark…

Thanks Rob!

Those aren't pillows!

Catch that Bears game last weekend?

:scared1:

It produced a horrifying smell, too. This being NJ, nobody really noticed. :stir:

I'm not sure how I feel about the NY Super Bowl yet. I'd hate to see a couple of great QB's reduced to handing the ball off in a slop-fest. On the other hand, football in snow is awesome.

I love the idea of a cold weather super bowl. I'll be nice and warm in my house so I hope it snows like crazy :thumbsup2 Except if the Patriots are playing, then I want it to be sunny and warm. That way the other team has a chance :rotfl2:

Snow games are fun. I went to this Bears game a few years ago where the wind was whipping around like 50 MPH gusts and I think we ended up getting about 18 inches of snow that day. It was also about 15 degrees out but it was a surreal experience. Too bad they were playing those stinking Patriots and the result wasn't in our favor.

Fastpass+ question for those that have participated already.

We go in March but cannot access / make selections until 60 days out? We were already able to customize magic bands and select "make fast pass+ selections" but the MDE only comes up with current date and I get kicked out right away with a message that no members of your party are within these dates? I called and the tech support did not seem too confident in that she told me 60 days but also stated that I should only get a description of what it is not anything else? Thanks in advance for any insights :confused3

Sure will be! I feel sorry for those poor chaps paying $4000 for a ticket to sit out in that… :lmao::lmao:

Every snowstorm we'd play football in the street…. and yes, it was awesome. :thumbsup2

Yes, you cannot make selections until 60 days out. I don't think it is like dining either (180+10) I think you have to be at 60 days for each day of your trip.

:lmao::lmao: You know it. SNOW + PATRIOTS = JUST WIN BABY!

We are still a little upset about the Superbowl shuffle.:scared:

:wave2: All this patriots talk just reminded me that CJ hasn't been around today. :lmao::lmao:

All went well. As far as walking, I'm on a walker with 50% weight on the new hip for 4 weeks.

That's better than nothing

No, they are sending them out to guests with upcoming reservations. Not sure if everyone is getting one but I know many are.

That's sad maybe when I check in I can ask for one.

Just got back from watching The Hunger Games with the family. Awesome! Is all I can say, very well done. Can't wait until the last of the series comes out.

Time for dinner and maybe a Christmas movie with the kiddos and then it's time for the Walking Dead, not a bad Sunday!!

I think they are breaking it into 2 parts.

Rumors this morning is that Bon Jovi is buying the Bills and that Bellicheck is going to leave NE and work for his best friend to turn around the Bills.

That would make my wife sad.

I would normally just post this in the running thread but I figure more people can laugh at/take pity on me here.

I had planned to get in a 10 mile run this weekend, hoping to do it Saturday morning to get it out of the way. Well, Friday not was a restless sleep for the little guy so I spent part of the night on the couch with him and ended up with a sore neck. So that pushed me off til yesterday when I made the decision I would hop out there after the Bears game (they were really finished about 5 minutes in and I'd have been better off going for my run then).

So by the time the game ended it was about 4 and though still sunny, I knew it would be dark by the time I finished my run. I pretty much knew I wasn't going to get 10 miles in but I thought I'd just push it as long as a could. Normally on a long run I would hit the bike path because it is safer and more pleasant. Knowing it would be dark that wouldn't be an option so I hit the streets. It was about 22 degrees out when I started running. I had a long-sleeved running pull-over on, a hat, and shorts because I don't like to run with pants on. It was quite nippy to start out but once I got going it wasn't too bad. I make a loop of about 5.5 miles that puts me about a little over a half mile from home and I start thinking about cutting it off. I glance south down my street and the RR tracks are clear. I think to myself that I should push myself to get a couple more miles in so I make another loop that adds about 2.5 more miles to my total and I'm headed home.

When I get to the stoplight that is about half mile from my house I notice that the rail crossing gates are flashing and then I notice that the train is stopped. So I decide to head west to the next place I could possibly cross the tracks even though I know it will probably add another mile and a half to the run (thus getting me close to the 10 had originally planned). I get about 2 blocks west and those gates start coming down so I know I'm not going to make it. So I just loop back to where the crossing is near my house. This train is crawling so I'm stuck there waiting for about 15 minutes freezing my butt off in the dark. With the wind chill it was probably about 10 degrees. It took me about 2 hours to warm up once I got home.

I told DW if this is the type of winter we are in for and it's starting this early we might be booking a late winter tropical getaway. Why do I live in Chicagoland again? I need to head south. :headache:

I know how you feel it has gotten cold here too.

Yeah it would be a fun game to watch.

Pass that is way to cold for me when I can watch from my couch.

Sounds brutally cold. Enough alcohol keeps you warm.

One ticket could get me multiple trips to WDW. Maybe I'll go to the Superbowl after the lotto winnings one day.

I like the outdoor game as well. Tampa, Miami, San Diego - somewhere warm with no chance of home field advantage. :lmao:

I'm not sure how I feel about the NY Super Bowl yet. I'd hate to see a couple of great QB's reduced to handing the ball off in a slop-fest. On the other hand, football in snow is awesome.

I think those seats at Lucas Oil Stadium were excellent.

Good morning Dads! At airport and flew through security so looks like plan to get out early today worked. The crazy part will tomorrow coming back from Chi-town. DD is driving him tuis afternoon so hoping weather forecast is good with only rain for her drive today - still worry about stuff like this. Have a good one guys and only a couple of more days til turkey and football preceded by a big bacon breakfast.

Kind'a just rolls off your tongue.

Computer continued to have a glitch so the Apple Genius suggested, and I did restore it to default settings. Spent the last day and a half putting everything back together. Working better than new now, have an appointment on Saturday to fix the remaining issues.

T-Day prep is about to start full swing tonight. The Pirate Princess is on the plane as I write and will be here later tonight. Veg chopping will begin in a bit, the turkey is defrosting and goes in the brine tomorrow, what can be made ahead of time will be done tomorrow. Looking forward to the holiday.

I'm starting to think CJ's is like Atlantis, no one has ever actually been there, but we talk about it like it's real :lmao:

Nope, doesn't exist. No reason to come down here with assorted trailers and RVs.

Prayer request. A co-worker had her front door kicked in and house robbed. Neither she nor husband were home.

Sorry to hear that. Glad they are both safe.

Tim already answered but as of NOW, it is 60 days.

Miami got turned down in it's latest bid for a Super Bowl because the taxpayers refused to foot the bill for a retractible roof over the stadium. All because it rained one year. Yet they are holding this year's game in an OPEN AIR STADIUM, IN NEW JERSEY, IN THE WINTER. Good luck with that bro.

Before my parents wised up and moved south, I loved playing pick-up football in the snow. One of the best times playing sports was a high school lacrosse game in the snow. Great fun. Not sure the Fat Cats will be enjoying freezing their @$$ off this year though.

:lmao::lmao: You know it. SNOW + PATRIOTS = JUST WIN BABY!

Yea, it is easy to win when you cheat.

How was the dentist? I had one of what is going to be many painful sessions. Hope it is over for you after that visit.

Evening...everyone must be getting ready for Turkey Day, or giving a few years back gunshy for being here. :rolleyes1

Damn it, now we're starting to get that nasty snow stuff here, but it looks like its going to be more wet then white :rotfl2:
