I think I am sorry I missed that.

I issed it too, pre-smartphone for me. At least I had an excuse: "I was working" alcohol was involved in me working too :rotfl2:

Good morning gentlemen.

the-dar-38.jpg

Yes, please.

Been busy here so I'm not going back a dozen pages to get caught up. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving. I've got to go in to work tonight and the next four nights. At least tomorrow night we get a free turkey dinner. Tonight is the second busiest night of the year to New Year's Eve. That should be entertaining.

I'm in the office for a 1 day work week. Just about everyone in the house was sick over the past few days. I was in the office for about an hour and a half on Monday before I went home sick. I think I'll clean up my email and start putting up the Christmas decorations in my office. That should make for a pretty full day. :santa:
Hope everyone is feeling better Barry.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve, Gents!

All showered up and sitting in my lazy boy. Hooked up to the leg sleeves so I don't get blood clots. Life is good! :thumbsup2

So, it's that scary time of year again, Thanksgiving and a thread getting close to closing. This is a reminder to follow the DIS forum rules, which can be found here, and all will be fine, and we'll have fun! :)
Glad you're doing well Randall.

So you're saying be careful when posting pics from The Chive?
I think I am sorry I missed that.

I think I am too.

That pretty much “covers” it right there.

I missed out on the frivolity as well.
Went off to NYC for the Macy’s parade; got back home and the thread had been vaporized.
Obviously, too much fun was had.

Peanut butter and Beverly kind of day. The good news is that I thought I was going to have to work on Friday, but now I don't. The bad news is, I get to come in on Saturday.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 definitely not thumbs.

:sad2: Well...that sucks. Sorry, Andy.

As a nemesis, it’d be proper for me to take credit for that one…
But even I’m not that heartless.

At least I don't think I'll have to be here all day. Probably first thing in the morning, middle of the day and around closing time. But I can probably leave for an hour or 2 in the morning and afternoon. :rolleyes1

Our facility manager is on vacation this week... mind you he made another employee cancel their vacation since we still have some harvest going on around us and grain coming in, but it was ok for him to be gone. On top of that we had a train that was supposed to be here Monday to load before the holiday. The f-ing thing has been sitting in Louisville, KY for 2 days and they can't get it the last 90 miles until Friday afternoon. Oh... and did I mention we got full of corn yesterday afternoon, waiting on that train to make more room? So all I've been doing is talking to p!ssed off farmers all day long who just want to be able to unload corn so they can finish harvest. And now I get to come back and do it on Saturday since our mgr and the powers that be at the railroad decided their time off during the first half of this week is more important than anyone else's time.

He actually called and wanted us to be open Sunday too since we were going to be closed Thursday and Friday. Apparently he decided he wasn't ready to hire a completely new staff when he got back on Monday.

Whew... sorry. I guess that should have gone to the rant thread. I feel a little bit better though.

Happy Thanksgiving! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Morning guys :surfweb:

Half day of work, then our company Thanksgiving lunch :cool1:

Afternoon Duck.

1) Happy Thanksgiving Nemie! Hope you and the princess have a great day. Turkey went in the brine this morning before I came to work. Stuffing and prep work to be done when I get home from work tonight.

2) If your not cheating, your not trying hard enough.:rotfl2::rotfl2: We have a storied history of making sure to push every rule possible. It's not our fault.

3) Dentist was OK. Gums hurt for a day or so, but otherwise the only pain was in my wallet as usual. Done for now. Did you ask for pain meds for after the procedure? I've never been fond of the dentist. Luck and prayers being sent that you can get through it as painless as possible.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family. Turkey is brining, risotto and herb stuffings are pre-made, gravies done while later tonight sweet potato and mashed casserole will be prepped. Way ahead of last year.

‘Morning all…
DS is home from school. I missed the arrival (rehearsing the music for Sunday’s service), but it had to be a might strange. When we took him back up there after the fall break he lived in one house. Now that he’s home for Thanksgiving, he lives in a completely different one.

Mine safely made it home. The kid that dared ask her to the prom is still around and picked her up at the airport. She stayed for a bit and headed next door to see the twins (who are like sisters). Lunch out with friends and later a birthday party at a friend's house. She will be anchored here tomorrow but expect the rest of the vacation she will be flitting about.

Sorry to hear that everyone is sick and hope they bounce back soon. Maybe work is the best place for you to hide out.

Yes Dad, we will be good. Watched the beginning of the race to the finish of the Thread that Shall Not Be Named, but missed most of the "fun" later that night.

Enjoy tomorrow Randall, glad to hear the recovery seems to be going well.

Sorry to hear Andy. Have a good day with the family tomorrow. One of my new peeves is retail stores that open on Thanksgiving. Give your employees a break. Bet the decision makers will not be in the office Thursday.

And what fun it was while it lasted. I went to bed before the fireworks went off.

Rant away. I was in Louisville today and would have told them to get moving for you.

I'm sure it is good to have DS home. Enjoy the family time.

Technically, I'm not allowed to let anyone leave early. So I give them a job to do instead, like making sure all of the roads between here and their homes are still there.

Brilliant. My two days at the office this week was enough.

Half day of work, then our company Thanksgiving lunching :

Didn't you have turkey five ways? How was the food?

Good day today....finally got the all clear to set my warehouse space back up. Looks pretty decent, jury's out to whether I have more space or not.

Also got to prove the boss wrong as well on another matter. :rotfl2:

What a horse's behind. Sorry this has to happen right at the holidays. Rant away!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and their families. Hope it's a safe and happy weekend for you all.

Also Happy Hanukkah to Brian, Aaron and anyone else who celebrates.

I'm sorry to hear that Andy. We need Cousin Eddie to go over and teach him a lesson!

Didn't you have turkey five ways? How was the food?

It was awesome. It's a pitch in as well. We have a very ethnically diverse work force so we have everything from the traditional fare to homemade egg rolls, wontons, Croation food, enchiladas, three cheese macaroni, etc.

I took like a 2 1/2 hr nap after I got home around 2 :thumbsup2

Happy Thanksgiving :thumbsup2

I am truly thankful for all of you! This has been quite a year for our family, and your kind words and support have made a huge impact.

Thank you

Happy Thanksgiving to us our southern friends and families.

Enjoy your day!

Happy Thanksgiving Dads!

I hope all of you prepared appropriately yesterday by drinking gallons of water to expand your stomachs for today's gluttony! :thumbsup2

Happy Thanksgiving all.

!

I have plenty of space in my garage if you want to send the alcohol my way. Doubtful on th return trip. :lmao:

Sounds great. We had the traditional Thaknsgiving Little Caesar's pizza with my parents yesterday. DW did make a pumpkin pie which was really good. Two Thanksgivings today and I'll cook a small turkey here on Green Friday - the day we put up our Christmas tree.

Happy Thanksgiving :thumbsup2

Thank you

Happy Thanksgiving to you nemesis as well. Will it be 8 of you next Thanksgiving? Continued prayers for you and your family during this process.

Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving as well as Hanukah to those celebrating. Safe travels to everyone and enjoy the families.

We watched Christmas Vacation last night which helps to put family into perspective - we are normal compared to what Clark had to deal with.

Morning....hope you guys are all geared up for gobblers!

Question for the few that will venture online today: Is Saturday after Black Friday really nutso as well? This is my one weekend off before Christmas, and we are doing the Sarnia visit thing, but DW and I want to head over the bridge to Port Huron for a bit of grocery/Christmas Shopping, which we do every year, but we've always avoided "Black Friday" Weekend for the insanity of it. We dont go looking for deals (trust me, retailers up here are getting into the act), but usualy cool little stocking stuffers etc for the girls, that we get every year(there are lots of things you just can't get here). I am thinking an early crossing to get things done, hit our usual route and be home in plenty of time to do the family things.

Normally when this comes up, we skip the shopping and go to Niagara Falls NY on a Sunday, but even all our Sundays are booked in December. Bah! :rotfl2:

Going to take a bit for me to fill it and see. Should know by next weekend. I'm more alarmed by the fact I don;t have a lot of sales floor space, and there are more new things comming. I don;t seem to know when to quit listing new things to the store :rotfl2:
