I'm starting to think CJ's is like Atlantis, no one has ever actually been there, but we talk about it like it's real :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2: You are right, I did misspell it. We are doing Disney in August 2014. The positive outcome to the February (non-Disney:scared:) trip is that it has guaranteed a 2015 Disney trip:woohoo::woohoo:. That was part of the deal. Most likely at a value as the family we are traveling has 5 children:eek: and most likely will need to book a suite. I have recommended we all look into renting points, but we'll see how that goes.

We are still no-go for next August, there are some expenses that need to be dealt with in the comming year. Also DW wants to do something a bit different, likely Ottawa and Montreal, but also threw in Washington DC and New York City. :confused3

But now DW has revised her view of the next trip, looks like another driving trip to save some $$, meaning it'll probably be August 2015, another Cocoa Beach/Disney mix.

5 Kids? :faint:

Morning guys :surfweb:

Just 1 1/2 more days....that's what I keep telling myself :thumbsup2

March trip is starting to come together. :cool1::cool1:

We had booked a flight down a little while back, the In-laws book their house a couple of weeks ago so we now have a place to stay and we booked the flight home last night. Those Southwest vouchers from last trip got us down and just about one full ticket back. :thumbsup2

We're looking at a day at Universal and we should be able to pick up 2 of the 3 passes through Air Miles points, leaving some single day tickets for probably EPCOT to pick up.

I figured it was time to put a new ticker in place.

Prayer request. A co-worker had her front door kicked in and house robbed. Neither she nor husband were home.

Today is my last day at the office this week. On my calendar is a plan to drink coffee today. I did project my leave time - I'll have 32 paid days off by Dec 31. I'm averaging a vacation week per month.

We going to try that batman trick where the plane picks me up mid-flight? I'm ready.

Sorry to hear about your co-worker.

I'm the Batman :wave2:

Good morning.

I would normally just post this in the running thread but I figure more people can laugh at/take pity on me here.

I had planned to get in a 10 mile run this weekend, hoping to do it Saturday morning to get it out of the way. Well, Friday not was a restless sleep for the little guy so I spent part of the night on the couch with him and ended up with a sore neck. So that pushed me off til yesterday when I made the decision I would hop out there after the Bears game (they were really finished about 5 minutes in and I'd have been better off going for my run then).

So by the time the game ended it was about 4 and though still sunny, I knew it would be dark by the time I finished my run. I pretty much knew I wasn't going to get 10 miles in but I thought I'd just push it as long as a could. Normally on a long run I would hit the bike path because it is safer and more pleasant. Knowing it would be dark that wouldn't be an option so I hit the streets. It was about 22 degrees out when I started running. I had a long-sleeved running pull-over on, a hat, and shorts because I don't like to run with pants on. It was quite nippy to start out but once I got going it wasn't too bad. I make a loop of about 5.5 miles that puts me about a little over a half mile from home and I start thinking about cutting it off. I glance south down my street and the RR tracks are clear. I think to myself that I should push myself to get a couple more miles in so I make another loop that adds about 2.5 more miles to my total and I'm headed home.

When I get to the stoplight that is about half mile from my house I notice that the rail crossing gates are flashing and then I notice that the train is stopped. So I decide to head west to the next place I could possibly cross the tracks even though I know it will probably add another mile and a half to the run (thus getting me close to the 10 had originally planned). I get about 2 blocks west and those gates start coming down so I know I'm not going to make it. So I just loop back to where the crossing is near my house. This train is crawling so I'm stuck there waiting for about 15 minutes freezing my butt off in the dark. With the wind chill it was probably about 10 degrees. It took me about 2 hours to warm up once I got home.

I told DW if this is the type of winter we are in for and it's starting this early we might be booking a late winter tropical getaway. Why do I live in Chicagoland again? I need to head south. :headache:
When the train was stopped, why didn't you just find 2 cars to cross between? Just climb the ladder, go up across and down. Perfectly safe. :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Donald Brown has some yards rushing. I just figured Richardson had an injury. If not an injury, did he run with a lead blocker?
Defenses are stacking the box when he comes on the field. Have been all year. They pretty much telegraph that they're going to hand him the ball when they bring him on the field. Brown is definitely a quicker back and he seems to have a little more room to get something going.

No…..No he's not. He's not even the best RB on their roster.
Says the Pats fan. Which is also why your opinion doesn't matter. :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

I hope that your co-worker gets everything worked out.

I will talk to Southwest to see if they can deploy the Bat Cable.

‘Morning all…

It’s right nasty outside today. Cold and wet and windy and hovering right around freezing…
bad mojo there.

I’ve gotten behind again (like that’s a surprise).

A happy (very) Belated Birthday to Mark…

Glad to see that Randal is back home (and that the nurses survived the encounter)

And the Dolphins.:sad2: I feel your pain. We had the Panthers down last week and lost it at the end as well.

And few are more surprised by these turns of events then those of us that live down here. The Cats are not behaving at all like what we’ve gotten used to seeing (or expected this season). I’ll still wait a while before showing much confidence though… things could easily get back to normal at any point. If they work at it, Carolina could still finish 8-8 / 2-4 and we can all go back to being indifferent.

Good Morning Men!

Randall, hope everything is healing up and your feeling better.

2014 has two trips booked for Disney. In April 2015, youngest dd will be going to Washington DC. So, we probably won't be doing a Spring Break trip that year. I guess we could so go somewhere that summer. In the past, we've went to the beach.

That was the long discussion when we booked the Dominican. We had gone to Disney every year for the last 7 and DW decided she wanted to go somewhere else. In discussions on the August trip to determine if it is the whole family or just me and DD. We did need a nice relaxing vacation for a change. Hoping the Christmas bonus that is on the way in a few weeks covers the February trip.:thumbsup2. If you end up going in August 2015, let me know and we can try to coordinate some dates.

We are still no-go for next August, there are some expenses that need to be dealt with in the comming year. Also DW wants to do something a bit different, likely Ottawa and Montreal, but also threw in Washington DC and New York City. :confused3

5 Kids? :faint:

I think the family wants to try for a Montreal trip in July. Not sure if that is in the budget until we see what the bonus structure is for next month and June. If the Christmas bonus covers the February trip then we would probably do 3-4 days at the end of July.

We are a definite for August 2015 so maybe we'll have a chance to be there at the same time again.:thumbsup2

Prayers going out to your co-worker and her family.

I get 24 days a year of vacation, sick time is not tracked. I do have almost 6 weeks accrued and rising. I just can't seem to find 5 weeks of time to take off each year:sad:. However, you have set the bar and I will make every effort to exceed your leisure time quotient.:lmao::lmao:

Been gone for a while.. Got some catching up to do.

Ok guys, Storytime,

As some of you know i have an helper in my office that is supposed to be doing gage calibrations. She is of a brilliance none of you can comprehend.

Ok so this morning, she asked me if we were in central timezone.

I said yes

she said well when tv shows advertise 8/7c we are 7.

I said yes and 8 is eastern.

She then asked, well when do the other timezones watch it. :headache:

I kid you not. I can't make this stuff up.

I also a few months back had to pull up a world map as she didn't believe me that Alaska was close Russia and was connected to Canada.
I too am of a brilliance few can comprehend. I too don't know when those time zones watch stuff.
I respect that they don't want a relationship and don't get why we have to do a holiday visit (DW's idea to visit my parents.)
DWs can be like that.
I told DW if this is the type of winter we are in for and it's starting this early we might be booking a late winter tropical getaway. Why do I live in Chicagoland again? I need to head south. :headache:
That's what I did! I miss the pizza but other than that, the South is pretty awesome.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Watch out for shower curtain ring salesmen!
Those aren't pillows!

When the train was stopped, why didn't you just find 2 cars to cross between? Just climb the ladder, go up across and down. Perfectly safe. :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

That's what DW said. I've seen too many safety videos here at work to know better than that. Plus there was that whole long line of cars that would have been laughing at the fat guy struggling to climb over. Rembember, I had just run 8+ miles.

If you add up all the little things we want to do, I bet you dollars to donuts it would cost more then a trip to WDW. :rolleyes2 Barring Dad's health I'd like to do a week at the cottage again, if not at least a long weekend. We think Ottawa would be good for the kids to see the nation's Capital. DW wants to go to Montreal (I don;t really care) and see her friend, but I'm not a real fan of her husband, don't really want to, but Happy Wife, Happy Life etc. I wouldn't mind trying for DC, both DW and I want to go see the Smithonian Museums. I think there is a day trip to Frankenmuth MI too, it's been around 5 years since we've been there.

Yeah, I was hoping you'd go in August in '15 too. I plan to plan around that fact. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone had a good weekend and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I went to the Giants game on Sunday and froze my butt off. I think I just finished thawing out. It was so windy that the portapotties in the parking lots were flipping over. It was 27 degrees with a 30mph wind with gusts towards 50.

Points or connecting rooms at a value will probably cost less than a suite.

Prayer request. A co-worker had her front door kicked in and house robbed. Neither she nor husband were home.
That is horrible. Hope everything works out for them.

Norm - thoughts for your co- worker. Never a good thing but especially tough during the holidays.

Thanks all for the travel well wishes - here in Chicago now and dang it's cold! Don't miss this weather.

Will do. We did Panama City Beach one August trip. I'm guessing school starts for us on Wed, August 12. So, we could go that week before. Probably won't have any DVC points left by then. Don't know if DW will go for it.

Let me set that bar a bit further. That is just from our FY starting July 1. In 6 months, I'll have 32 paid days off. Hoping to double that by end of June, but there aren't as many holidays that part of the year.

If you add up all the little things we want to do, I bet you dollars to donuts it would cost more then a trip to WDW. :rolleyes2 since we've been there.

That's my argument every time.

Should be great weather for Superbowl. :crazy2:

Sorry to hear about your co-worker.

Thanks everyone. She posted they got her jewelry, and probably has to go thru house today for a complete list.
