UPdate on the kid's situation....still no sign of anything so we are giving the "all clear" signal. Either they made a mistake with Audrey or one had made it's way onto her that morning and was caught before it could settle in.

Glad it was a false alarm. Maybe they were being really careful.

Said it wasn't a heart attack and that he was doing OK on Sportscenter this morning. More tests needed I guess. Prayers to him and his family.

The game was fun to watch.

Morning...off to work early for an inventory count, the ones we did last month were considered "invalid", too early apparently. Got to count all the beers, handle the new shipment coming in today, and prep my space for the Ghristmas Gift Packs tomorrow. Also gotta avoid any fallout from missing Friday's shift.

Never fun doing inventory. At least you don't have to do it by individual serial numbers like we do here. Usually takes a couple of days for us. We only count 2x a year. Good luck with the boss and if you have any extra christmas packs that are not on the inventory sheet, feel free to ship them down here. I'll share with Paul, I promise.

It is, and you guys aren't posting like crazy, so it's easy to keep up and not be on the boards long.

Nope. Rondo is out still with his injury and at 0-3 with sights on that #1 pick I don't see them rushing him back. Went to the home opener and watched them blow a 21 point lead in just over a quarter and lose. I'm pretty sure that may be the last Celtics game I go to this season. I'm not even sure Rondo would help.

Good afternoon gentlemen. Kids had a great birthday. DS had a very Star Wars heavy birthday. DD got about half or Target's collection of American Girl knock offs. I survived my first night on the new shift. I wound up putting in an extra 15 minutes because the pit boss didn't realize I switched shifts. The conversation went like this:
Me: Can I go home now?
Pit: What do you mean?
Me: I'm on swing now. You flipped me off yesterday for going over to swing.
Pit: I didn't realize that started tonight.

Lost 1-3 at soccer. They played a good game though. I knew we were outmatched against a stacked team of ringers, but they played close with them. We had some really good shots on goal, and their keeper stopped them.

Unfortunately, the center ref was the son of the guy who stacked the teams in the league. After we tied the score 1-1, the opposing coach walked onto the field, re-set his players, and gave them some instruction. No ejection, but the same ref did call an indirect foul on my team on a later on a questionable play. I wonder if I would win that protest?

Cheating to stack teams. Cheating to not follow the rules. To win at U11G soccer. I know many of us blame the politicians for the current state of affairs in the US, but I think that blame falls much closer to home. If adults are going to cheat and teach their children to cheat, what hope is there really?

I hate that garbage. I quit playing in USTA events for similar shinanigans. Hope your girls don;t get disheartened by this.

Finished watching the TerraNova series on Netflix. It was not a bad series, perhaps a bit much for the final episode. Onto the next series ....

My dd keeps asking me to coach her, otherwise, I would have stopped years ago. I can still juggle the soccer ball a bit after all these years, so not all the skills have left. It is father/daughter time, but I wish she would pick something else. There just isn't another league option to go to in this small hillbilly town.

I was surprised that show wasn't given a second series. I thought Vegas should have gotten renewed too.

We tried to get into BOG but just couldnt get an ADR. I couldn't bring myself to wait an hour in line for lunch, maybe next trip.

Spent the weekend cleaning out the basement. Filled a good sized dumpster with all of the trash and things tossed. I locked myself in the basement and just tossed anything we haven't used in a while. Have to keep the family away so we don't just keep everything. It's starting to look pretty good and another weekend of cleanup and then starting renovations. One wall coming down, and 3 going up.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Patriots win and the Dolphins have started suspending players for being stupid. Take that nemie!

Why yes we are spoiled. Did I mention the Red Sox are WS Champions? And I agree, this is a pretty good rebuilding year for the Patriots. Even with all the injuries.

Oh, you meant the Celtics. Not leaving the sinking ship, just can't see spending a significant amount of $$ to watch players that would lose to the top 10 college teams this year. UK would blow them off the court. We watched them lose on TV last night (switched back and forth between football of course) so still watching, but it's a lot easier to sit on the coach and drink beer that's not $7 after buying a $100 ticket and $40 parking. I like the coach and Olynek (assuming they keep him). I've got the pom poms out already for lottery night. I can see Wiggins in green. Of course our luck in the lottery is like trying to find that little &^%$^#&#$'s pot of gold.. How can we have a leprechaun as a mascot and always get screwed by the odds.

CJ - What is going on in your neck of the woods, or swamps? Sorry about your Gators and what in the world with the Dolphins off the field stuff?

Gators are decimated by injuries. Lost 8-9 projected starters for the season including Easley (their best defensive player) QB, RB, 2 Offensive Linemen. That and other starters missing multiple games have just killed them. Got Georgia right when Gurley and Bennett come back. For the Missouri game, they started a second string Linebacker at DE. Looks like a 6-6 season at best. Not looking forward to the FSU game.

The Dolphins have just blown up. Started with Martin losing it during a team meal and left the team. Incognito "allegedly" has been harassing him since last year. Martin "sprung" for a $15,000 trip for some of the team to go to Vegas. He didn't even go. Other allegations, the rookies paid $30,000 for a mega-dinner for veterans and the older players are treating the younger guys as ATM machines to pay for nights on South Beach. Not good team chemistry right now.

She still likes playing basketball and soccer and I signed her up for indoor soccer and then it will be basketball in December/January. At school, she did write she wanted to be a basketball player when she was older. I'll be glad to leave this soccer league behind.

By USTA, you mean tennis? Do you still play? I am way overweight and don't play often. I don't have enough stamina to play the good players, and the bad ones hate it when a fat guy can beat them.

We will be there the exact same time, although, we arrive on the 4th. Now, my booking is still pending the school calendar approval. We are guessing based on last year. So, don't go cancel until I know I for sure those are our dates.

I have a colleague who was a national development team coach for Tennis Canada. One of his first days in the position he was walking out to the court and was talking to a man who was walking beside him. As he arrived at the court he stepped through the gate and the man followed him. He asked him where he was going and he said out on the court, the player was his daughter. My friend told him as a parent he was welcome to sit outside and watch but he was the coach and would be the only other person on the court. The father was not happy.

Just giving you grief. You've got all those titles and our two most storied franchises are stinking up the town. I did post a nasty messagfe on the Twins Facebook page saying I would not buy a ticket, merchandise or watch another inning until there was new ownership.

I meant tennis. I don't play much anymore. My shoulder is in no shape to handle serving more than two sets in a day.

Back in the day tournament directors had a nasty habit of lumping the ranked kids in one section of the bracket and spreading their kids and the unranked players across the rest of the bracket. It got old fast having to battle one of the other top 4 players in the tournament in the opening round then play the other rank player who survived his opening round match. Or play the other top player in the consolation round. And I could go on for an hour about how directors abused the hour rest rule.
