Took the bus to MK... Then the skies opened up. Normally it wouldn't be an issue, but with the baby we went back to AKL. Spending the afternoon with family then heading back to MK for dinner at BOG.

Looks like both you and the Princess enjoyed the pool. Her swimming, splashing and jumping in while you catch a buzz.

Lost 1-3 at soccer. They played a good game though. I knew we were outmatched against a stacked team of ringers, but they played close with them. We had some really good shots on goal, and their keeper stopped them.

Unfortunately, the center ref was the son of the guy who stacked the teams in the league. After we tied the score 1-1, the opposing coach walked onto the field, re-set his players, and gave them some instruction. No ejection, but the same ref did call an indirect foul on my team on a later on a questionable play. I wonder if I would win that protest? :lmao:…

Sorry about the loss. Hated it when I coached and the other coaches and parents thought that winning a game played by 7-10 YOs was the most important thing in the universe. Reason I quit after three years. I did though get an especially "aggressive" (I would say abusive) coach banned from the league.

UPdate on the kid's situation....still no sign of anything so we are giving the "all clear" signal. Either they made a mistake with Audrey or one had made it's way onto her that morning and was caught before it could settle in.

So how is everyone enjoying the longest weekend of the year?

Lots of cleaning and stuff this weekend :crazy2:

Trying to figure out if Vancouver is even bothering using a goalie tonight :sad2:

Your Morning picture is from MNSSHP last night.

Good news.

My dd keeps asking me to coach her, otherwise, I would have stopped years ago. I can still juggle the soccer ball a bit after all these years, so not all the skills have left. It is father/daughter time, but I wish she would pick something else. There just isn't another league option to go to in this small hillbilly town.

Cool. I couldn't find them in cans in the grocery store we went to, but they may have just been out because they don't have Brent to keep them stocked.

Great pics guys!!

We tried to get into BOG but just couldnt get an ADR. I couldn't bring myself to wait an hour in line for lunch, maybe next trip.

Cheating to stack teams. Cheating to not follow the rules. To win at U11G soccer. I know many of us blame the politicians for the current state of affairs in the US, but I think that blame falls much closer to home. If adults are going to cheat and teach their children to cheat, what hope is there really?

Sorry about the loss but you can always take away the positive that they played well throughout the game.

I have to deal with a lot of those parents and coaches almost everyday. They are truly what is wrong with youth sports.

Damn it, we don;t even have that up here...will need to get some next stateside trip.

Will you settle for PBR?

That really sucks, what the hell is it with Team Sports that brings out the worst in adults? My nephew is getting a lot of issues in hockey, being more then a head taller then any other kids in his age group (the kid is like 14-15, and already 6'2). He has been threatened with physical violence by PARENTS and dealing with a lot of racial taunts (part Ojibway).

Hope karma bites them in the ***

I used to think that it was just a minor or rare occasion, but the more seasons I have coached and with the Board stuff a year ago, it is just obvious to see that it is intentional and deliberate - stacking teams, fixing schedules, and lying about it. I even see it in the church leagues - using their bible holding hand to stab people in the back.

I used to think that organized, team sports was healthy for my girls. Now, I'm dreading that I ever enrolled them in it. I guess it does prepare them for life's later lessons - you'll be matched against cheaters and liars.

Enjoying the pictures Paul, Tim and Randall. Jealous but am enjoying them. Just booked a solo trip to the Boardwalk during my birthday week in October. Looking forward to taunting you guys with pics.

Doing it for the girls is a good enough reason. Even if you rather not coach. One of the reasons I got back into diving was for Daddy/Daughter time. And my soccer skills have long abandoned me. My mind tells me what to do but the body says I don't think so.
