That stinks, sorry to hear that.

We were at Kona for dinner last night and got out just before the party fireworks so we missed all the craziness I guess. We drove so we have our van here as well. So that makes it a ton easier.

Where are you staying?

We're at Coronado Springs. Where are you guys?

Also we're headed to HS shortly.

Good Morning Dads! Another Monday but another week closer to all planned Disney trips. Have a good week and be safe out there.

‘Morning all…
Had to head back to work to find enough time to check in again. L-o-n-g weekend of packing boxes and moving them into storage. House is about two thirds empty now. Still much to do though, but I do have the evening and another weekend to get it under control.

OK, I know I haven't been around much the past couple years for various reasons. However, I now have a couple things to post that I never thought I would have the opportunity to do.
First, I'm retiring on January 2nd! :cool1:
Secondly, we actually have a short trip to WDW planned with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandkids for the first week of March! :cool1:
Due to my DW's problems with neuropathy, and the cold/damp weather of PA triggering a lot of discomfort, we're heading to Perdido Key, FL, for 3 months beginning January 1. (My last work day is really Dec. 20th.) Our daughter's in-laws are springing for a trip for them to the World the first week of March and we are planning to join them for a couple days. It may not really happen for a couple reasons but we do actually have ressies at ASMu!
I'm beginning to look forward to retiring now that I've submitted my letter at work; a lot of weight has been lifted from my shoulders since I officially made the decision. Now, we just have to get our money invested correctly.

Good to hear from you Mike!
Congrats on the pending retirement and trip plans.
Know that we all are keeping your DW close in our thoughts.
Check in again whenever you get the chance.

And the northern to central areas of South Carolina will typically have some of the better prices for gas along our route. :flower3:

That is certainly true. Even the folks from Charlotte will purposely enter “that other state” for the gasoline. Driving eight miles to watch baseball was an abomination, but by god they’ll do it to save a dime a gallon on gas.

I guess there is a lesson in all this to slow it down. In my rush a ended up toppling some stacks of beer on my cart all over the warehouse, got it all cleaned up, but what a freaking mess. At least I got the glass shards out if my hands.

Yikes!
Sorry to hear about the mishap; good that you got it under control.

Thanks guys, we have arrived in Rock Hill. We are deciding where and what to eat. We are about an hour and a half late thanks to a little thing called Bridge Day, apparently 1 day a year they close the I19 bridge so people can jump off of it........detour took us through a lovely area of West Virginia.

I had to pick this day!!!!!

That combined with a little traffic in Charlotte and we are finally here.

Now to have some dinner.

Bridge day! I never remember when that is. We should track that one around here for those that might be traveling in the early fall like you were doing. Glad you made it so far the first day though and yes… the traffic in Charlotte can be a mess is you catch it around dinner time. At least it wasn’t the workday rush hour stuff.

best part of the road trip - crossing the WDW entrance. Have a safe trip.
The worst part is the SEE YOU REAL SOON sign on the back.

I hate that.

::yes:: …and… ::yes:: ::yes::

Good Mornings Guys!!

Just enjoying a morning coffee while the rest of the family catches up on some sleep.

Ahhhhhh…
Got to see that view back in June.
May be a long while before I see it again.

Enjoy the time! :thumbsup2

Traffic wasn't too bad only about 15-20 min.

All in all a very good trip.

Just finishing breakfast and then off to MK.

Have a great day guys!!

Well today is Monday....

Good morning guys.

What a few weeks it has been. We have 25 days left until our Week at SSR and I still have to see if I can manage to score a studio room during that time period somehow...probably going to rent some points. If not, it'll be a little tight, but not impossible.

I've been desperately trying to finish up all the work I had from the Navy Yard Shooting, plus all the fallout, as well as make sure the family gets some time!!

By the way, I passed a beige minivan from Ohio this morning (Yes, Barry, I *passed* it.....) that could be, or at least should be a DisDad. Had a couple of kids in the back with the Disney Family cutouts and a DVC sticker on the back windshield.

I flashed the red and blues at whoever it was, so if it was you, that was just Fed saying hello. (This would have been on I 95 outside of Jacksonville, FL)

Congrats on retiring! When you say work part time...what do you mean? WDW boat captain? Monorail pilot? :rolleyes1

Here we go.....

Hold on now...is that Canadian time? What's the exchange rate? Is that like 5am American?

Not all minivans have the after-market modifications that mine does.

Or, you were just allowed to pass. Sometimes we do that just to mess with you guys.

Ah,, Mondays...just about to work when DW calls to tell methe school called, I had to pick up the youngest, she is under the weather, so had to call in and turn around. I had a big work day too, plus it's my new boss' first day, just to make it better. :rotfl2: Also it;s our 13th anniversary today.

Just glad DW and I had our anniversary dinner Saturday, tonight looks to be very low key.

:rotfl2:

The kids are off of school Thursday and Friday, so we're using up some credit we had with Southwest and heading to Branson, Mo for a long weekend. Found a deal using the Hotels.com mobile app that got me an extra 30% a two bedroom condo/time share place - making it $97 a night. Got a rental car from Priceline - forget exactly what I paid, but I recall entering in the bid, laughing, and thinking "there's no way I'll get a full size this cheap!"
We only have a few things planned, trying to keep the vacation relaxing. There is a 40 mile train ride through the Ozarks and cave tour just over the boarder in Arkansas.
The only meal we have planned right now is at Lambert's - home of the Throwed Rolls, suggested by Sean. You stick your hand up in the air, and a server throws a dinner roll into it from across the room. :thumbsup2

If anyone has any other "must do's" in the Branson area, I'm all ears.

Happy Anniversary! Hope DD starts feeling better soon. You could just take her to work with you. Nothing makes a better impression with the new boss that bringing a sick child to the liquor store. :thumbsup2

Is this a real thing or is it more Wisconsin humor? If this is real, it sounds awesome. A little risky, but awesome.

For a second I thought you were going to Bronson..

Yeah, can't see any flaws to THAT plan :rotfl2:

This thread is completely overwhelming and terrifying but whatever. I'm 46 (it's really like 30 days with weekends )days out from my trip and looking for ways to waste time.

We are going with our 2 girls (5 and 4) and we are bringing my parents and my brother and his friend.

I'll admit, I don't have any character tattoos yet, but maybe drinking around the world this year will lead to something new.
