All is not lost however. In the mail today was this…

Thought it was early for our Magic Bands and it was, inside was…

Basically a flash drive with the Edna tutorial that is available on the web. The cool thing about it is that it automatically opened my browser and the My Disney Experience page for the trip. If I had questions, I could refer to Edna. There was also a semi-personalized booklet with info on our trip, the Boardwalk including resort dining options, magic bands, fastpass+ and general Disney info. Pretty cool.

How did you get this did you have to do any thing special?

Happy Birthday Captain Oblivious

From all your friends at the DISDads...

I hear yeah. My sister has been a moocher her entire life. My parents are always bailing her out. Giving her money, their used cars etc. The latest, a house. Yep, they paid cash for a house. Granted it wasn't a huge nice house, but still. She lives mortgage free for the rest of her life. Parents told her it was some of her inheritance. We'll see.

They don't even mention anything about making it right in the inheritance. Hopefully, I am investing well enough so I don't have to worry about it.

So if a DisDad farts in the clubhouse, and no one is around to hear it, does it still stink?

Sure is quiet in here today.....

I thought there was a cheesy smell earlier.

Hes having the time of his life, and also taking responsibility and control over it as well. Makes me proud to hear the change in his voice and demeanor; hes actually growing up (thus making it worth every penny).

Now since you brought him up, I get to do a bit of the proud poppa thing. This belongs in the Brag Wall thread, but&
.

Bravo to DS and congrats to a proud dad.

I am generally a happy and positive person who deals well with stressful situations. The stress is getting to me a bit as the week winds down. A couple of weeks ago I interviewed for what would be a promotional opportunity in a different division of my company. The move would be to a different plant but one that's a little closer to home. It's a managers spot of a decent size department. I knew I interviewed well and got the indication that I was a shoe-in so I've been patiently waiting. Yesterday I got the offer but it was a bit of a lowball in my estimation. My management here is happy for me to have the opportunity but are ok what I decide either way. They haven't said so but I know they would prefer that I take it so that they could use it as a domino effect to move some of the newer hires up a little. I've also been told in not so many words that I won't have the chance to move up in my current department. So I made a counter offer today and here I wait but I'm guessing I will end up heading into the weekend without an answer.

Good luck with the promotion and the money. Keep us posted. As for the lack of sleep, time will eventually work that out.

I only do one Thanksgiving, mine. A long time ago, no matter where I was, I made the feast and whoever was in the area, was welcome to come over for eats. The only time it did not happen was three years ago when I was a guest at South Miami Hospital (can't believe it's been three years). This year, just the two of us for dinner. No family but friends, mostly the Princesses veg friends who know I will make non-meat stuff will be in at out during the day. On the menu

.

Other than the tofu, sounds like a good menu. The Portobello Risotto Stuffing sounds good. You mailing me any?

For what it's worth not selfish at all under the circumstances - it is always best to enjoy the immediate family. I keep telling DW everytime the "family drama" stuff at holidays gets her blood boiling to remember this crazy stuff so that we do not repeat it with our kids.

Thanks. I was just hoping to stop it before the next generation.

It's not selfish... I get it my wife and I decided that Christmases will be spent at our house now that our son is involved if my or her parents want to be there they do the traveling.

I tried that argument as well. We get Christmas morning, but still have to go to FIL's sister's house for Christmas Eve and MIL Christmas afternoon.

We got to go up there this past weekend and see the marching band’s final performance.
They were stunning. One of the most exciting and entertaining shows I’ve seen and the band geekes out there can see it here:

Don’t feel obligated, but I just couldn’t resist.

Excellent job. :thumbsup2

What's that you say, it's Friday afternoon? You could have fooled me. Feels more like a Monday....

Hang in there and enjoy the weekend.

...On the menu…..

Tell the Pirate Princess Pirate that pie is preferred over mousse.

Happy Birthday Captain Oblivious

From all your friends at the DISDads...

and many more.

Going to try to go mostly offline for the holiday week and focus on my biological family rather than all y'all, my cyber friends, so an early Happy Thanksgiving Dads! Despite the trials and tribulations of the day, we have much to be thankful for if we just remember it.

I'm still on the green side of the sod and have eaten at least one meal today so I am doing better than much of the world.

Hope all are having an enjoyable weekend. I'm going to a coaches mtg for basketball this AM and then indoor soccer for younger dd this afternoon. Thankful for a short work week next week.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well - or belated if you read it afterwards.

Morning guys :coffee:

Morning David.

Wekcome back Randall.... Glad to hear it all went well.

4 weeks - takes us to just before X-mas. Excellent planning. :thumbsup2

How did you get this did you have to do any thing special?

No, they are sending them out to guests with upcoming reservations. Not sure if everyone is getting one but I know many are.

Happy Birthday Captain Oblivious

Belated congrats Mark. Not a bad celebration if the FB pictures are any indication.

Other than the tofu, sounds like a good menu. The Portobello Risotto Stuffing sounds good. You mailing me any?

Not sure if there will be any left to mail. Come on down, people will be in and out of the house all day. I'll need a carnivore to offset the nuts and berries crowd.

I'm
Home!

All went well. As far as walking, I'm on a walker with 50% weight on the new hip for 4 weeks.

That is great news Randall. Although I did hear rumors that you were chasing around the nurses the day after the operation. Heal quick.

CJ - just not your week is it, sorry about your Gators.

There is no joy in Gator Country right now. This is the worst it has been in decades. Not sure if this recruiting class is going to hold together and what next year is going to look like. Will not be watching the FSU game Saturday. Maybe peek in once in a while to see how bad the beat the down is going.

Just got back from watching The Hunger Games with the family. Awesome! Is all I can say, very well done. Can't wait until the last of the series comes out.

Time for dinner and maybe a Christmas movie with the kiddos and then it's time for the Walking Dead, not a bad Sunday!!
