She needs to try a yard of ale.
Great pictures by the way. Looks like an amazing trip.
Just wanted everyone to know there are only 13 weeks until the NHL training camps open.

I know I'll get flack for this opinion, but I have to air it somewhere. I am very sad to hear Disney is going to do this. It's bad enough that shows are getting more sexually charged with every passing day... at younger and younger audiences. Now they want to push the agenda of promoting gay families to our kids on the Disney Channel, too?![]()
Don't let college stop you! Where there's a will there's a way. I know you don't have the time, but we are building up the vacation account for when we get to those crazy college tuition days. We still have 5 years and by then I'll probably need to donate body parts in order for the kids to attend college.
Good luck!
I feel your pain Rob. Yes, I am able to pay for college and do some traveling. How? First I know I am lucky. The Kid also got a chunk of change from SH and she is good about keeping her expenses down while at school. I also don't have many monthly expenses. No mortgage or car payment so my living expenses are low. Plus these last two big trips were a lot less expensive than what they would normally cost. DVC paid for the Aluani and Disneyland rooms. So far this trip I have had to pay for only one night in a hotel. Both in the UK and Germany I stayed in my friend's house/apartment. Paris and London are a different story.
Finally, I quit worrying about adding to my retirement for the moment. After I got out of the hospital and the months of recovery, I adopted a different attitude. If I can afford it and want to do it, it is going to happen. Saying that, this will probably be the last big trip for a couple of years. Like I said though, I am lucky.
DS got a pretty good sunburn yesterday as well (at grandmothers swimming.). Hopefully he learned a lesson on where not to miss with the lotion.![]()
Did not intend to pry & sorry if I did, but completely understand with our first one heading off this fall. We are lucky to be in a position to be able to still vaca especially with scholarships. Good luck and hopefully you can find a way to go maybe just not as often as in the past.
Morning...
Not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing, but I'm back at work. At least I'm not on a jury. They signed us all in and then they came out and informed us that we were called in for a criminal case, but they reached a resolution on it this morning and we were free to go.![]()
MIAMI (AP) Comparing the championship runs of the NBA's Miami Heat and the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks:
___
UNBEATABLE: Both teams had long runs of success on their way to the respective titles, though Miami's was actually unblemished while Chicago's was a bit less shiny. The Heat put together the second-longest winning streak in NBA history during the regular season, 27 consecutive games. The Blackhawks opened the season with a 24-game streak of getting at least one point out of every game and while that encompassed exactly half of the lockout-shortened season, their longest actual winning streak in that span was just 11 games, with two of those coming in shootouts. Chicago technically lost three times in that 24-game run, all in shootouts, and two of them consecutively.
___
TITLE TOWNS: Welcome to the Heat and Blackhawk eras in their respective leagues. For Miami, this year's NBA championship was its third in eight years and its second straight. Chicago won the Stanley Cup for the second time in four seasons. Before the 2010 title, the last time the Blackhawks hoisted hockey's biggest prize was 1961. And naysayers could try to take some of the luster off crowns for both cities, since the Heat title last year and the Blackhawks' crown this season both came in lockout-shortened seasons.
___
STAR POWER: Maybe something about the winds off Lake Erie helps create superstars. Heat star LeBron James hails from Akron, Ohio, maybe 40 miles or so south of the shores of the great lake definitely close enough to get some good lake-effect storms in the winter. Blackhawks star Patrick Kane comes from Buffalo, N.Y., situated along the lake's eastern edge. James won the NBA Finals MVP award; Kane was this year's Conn Smythe Award winner, presented to the best player in the entire NHL postseason.
___
TIES THAT BIND: Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon whose club plays about a half-hour north of the arena that the Heat call home was the architect of the Blackhawks team that won the Cup in 2010, and some of his moves paid off for Chicago again during this most recent title run. Meanwhile, Heat guard Dwyane Wade hails from Chicago, and remember that the Bulls tried unsuccessfully to sign him, James and Chris Bosh in the summer of 2010, just a few days after the Blackhawks hoisted the Cup.
___
BOSTON GIVEAWAYS: Both of these postseasons will likely be remembered for what Boston lost. Last summer, it was Ray Allen, who turned down more years and money from the Celtics and decided to sign with the Heat. And Allen went on to hit what will go down as the biggest shot in Heat history, the 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds left in regulation of Game 6 that forced overtime and denied the San Antonio Spurs what would have been their fifth NBA title. And during the Stanley Cup final, the Bruins were up by a goal with about a minute remaining in Game 6 then surrendered two lightning-fast goals to not only lose, but lose in regulation even, a stunning collapse that brought the NHL season to a quick and dramatic close.

BRING ON BASEBALL (SADLY): Heat fans, Blackhawks fans, take heart. You had a good winter. Entering Tuesday, the Miami Marlins, Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox all had one thing in common. They were all in last place. So after the Blackhawks hold their celebration, looks like Miami and Chicago will be parade-free for the next few months.
___
LUCKY NUMBERS: Heat record in this postseason? 16-7. Blackhawks record in this postseason? 16-7. And with that, the winter season is complete.
..
One glaring difference. Folks around the country like the Blackhawks. Folks outside of South Florida hate the Heat.
No... I just actively hate the Heat.
I just don't care about the Blackhawks.![]()

A friend sent this to me....

The Pirate Princess participated in something called Hashing. Invented by the UK army near the end of WWII, it involves a "hare" setting a trail that the "pack" follows. The hare is a bit sneaky and lays out false trails to throw off the pack.
As a first timer, she had to down a beer. Took her a while but she somewhat finished it. Here she is with the last sips.

Yea, I saw her drink her first LEGAL beer. It wasn't there though, it was the first day we were at the Brit's house.
She had problems downing the half pint they gave her so she is either faking it or has not had much practice chugging. She is getting a charge out of her legal status here.
Oh, we havent given up. Well still put bits of cash away when possible through various methods. And since were no longer tied to the school calendar it is somewhat possible that just the Mrs. and I could do a couple of days here and there during the off seasons (especially if they offer up a PIN or a deal of some type). The problem is just that well always have to make a choice between paying the tuition debts down or splurging on a luxury. Choosing a luxury over an obligation would be tough.

Just checking in real fast before heading out to play golf them tennis later. My dad and aunt took all the grand kids to Wisconsin Dells for a few days.
Spent the day at the apartment downloading pictures and kicking back. Going out tonight for dinner. Some random pics...

Wood shavings on the country parts and flour for pavement mark the trail. The arrow means you are on the trail, the X shows you followed a wrong lead. Crash got lost once following a wrong trail.
Of course, it always ends up at a pub. This is in Wellington.

Evening guys...the build-to-long-weekend fun begins! Co-worker brought in 8 skids of beertoday, and surprise surprise he was off till Thursday, got it all done, but yikes it gets worse the closer we get to the weekend.
No change on my status, DW is in rough shape though. Not to mention shetook the gorls swimming yesterday, forgot to do her own sunscreen, she's a lobster right now, lots of pain.!
True, but do any of us really know how CJ acquires all that cash?
I think I am beginning my mid life crisis, At work I am a old timer (since 1986) most of the people at work could almost be my kid ,when compared to people on TV, lately it's been Barry from storage wars & Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty
, at get togethers with friends we all talk about retirement how soon and how we plan to get there

Is that sort of like snipe hunting?Always a good time though!
$15 for showing up, $40 if I'm selected on a jury
I'm starting to get a complex here, I guess I'll just play the lottery heavy those days
