Went home for lunch and as soon as I walked through my front door I was engaged by a hostile 5 year old armed with a repeating Nerf gun.
anim_uzi.gif

Caught off guard, I had but one option to "UnA$$" the area, regroup and consider options.

Once the offender was clearly out of ammo and unable to reload, he made a quick retreat to his stronghold in the back of the house. In true insurgent form, he then reappeared unarmed and seemingly oblivious to the attack.:confused3

At that time, a second ambush was launched by an Irish 30 something Banshee, utilizing same Nerf style weaponry.
anim_rocket.gif

I again conducted a tactical exfil in order to regroup.
anim_brick.gif

By the time I returned, both suspects were perched on the couch feigning innocence, and indignant that I would accuse them of such a brazen attack.:rolleyes1

At this time....a counterattack is being planned.

I may need to stock up and be at the ready just in case. School lets out tomorrow. Who knows what those kids have planned.:scared:

Well, I got a letter in the mail last week telling me to call the courthouse this afternoon to see if I have to report for jury duty tomorrow. The phone call has been made.. :headache:

Wish me luck.:faint:

Damn rebels :lmao:

Afternoon all…
Back home after what may well be our last trip to The World.
We’re pretty sure we left it in relatively usable condition for the rest of ya’ though.

I think. ;)

I expected a nice steaming hot reality sandwich to be waiting for me at work to day…
And my overlord did not disappoint (otherwise I’d have checked in earlier).

Damn I miss Disney. :sad1:

But...
This brightened my day

Good luck sir

I hate jury duty…
Done my share and am always disappointed in the way folks go about making decisions.
If a jury of your “peers” simply votes with their prejudices, you’d have been better off with just a judge handling the process.

Glad you survived. I would imagine that the retribution for the Irish Banshee will be somewhat different than for G-Man.:rolleyes1

Good afternoon guys! Stopping in real quick to say hi. No time to go back and catch up on the last week. It was hot and sunny in Florida, just like I prefer. Hope all is well for everyone!

Apparently they shoot like many movie bad guys, expend lots of ammo but do little harm. :lmao:

I too would like to get in on this game; sounds fun.

Just keep muttering "Hang'em I tell ya, Hang'em!"

Andy, good luck. I have found, being a buddy to one of the lawyers and being very indigent to the other, will get you removed from the jury. :rolleyes1

I have a Disney question. Have you ever seen Mr Fredrickson from UP in the parks? My DD1 Really, Really wants to meet him.

Collage Tuition… :faint:

I’m considering taking on a second job but unless I come up with some other options or a spate of serious good fortune we’ll be 15 to 20 years paying for it. Conditions like that will rather seriously crimp our ability to expend bucks on any luxury.

I’d certainly like to be able to continue traveling like we have up until now, but I don’t know that I can justify it under the current conditions. We’ll see how thing develop across the next months and years.

Maybe he's elderly and infirm.

Not bloody likely mate… pirate:

I easily out lasted, out walked, out stood and out endured both of the eighteen-year-old traveling with me this past trip. I’m a rather tough old bird (just not a wealthy one).

Agreed. While I didn't get selected, the jury of the peers was scary.

In the 2011 parade at DHS. Not at Epcot or MK last year.

Good morning gents! Trust all had a good weekend. Been a bit since posting as we had college orientation for DD last week after coming back from vaca so been a bit hectic with the travel and keeping up on the day job stuff. This is gonna be the first full 5 day work week since the week of May 20 so gonna be a bit tough:sad2:

GO HAWKS! but me thinks it is gonna go to game 7 on Wednesday night.

Glad the family had a great time and that you got to spend time with DD. Thansk again for sharing the story and keep those stories and details coming. DS joined us at DDs college orientation and was excited to see information at the school about the Disney college & intern programs :)

Glad you enjoyed sounds great.

glad to here he is interested and has time to look into the program. if you read the college boards on the dis, the kids for the most wont give you bad info. briana was ready for housing, she got lucky, she got a one bedroom apartment with only one room mate. they had a room inspection while we were there last week and they passed. :lmao: I guess they are just looking for dead bodies and beer.:lmao:
they only thing she wasn't ready for is the hours. which she loves!! just took time to get use to. you go home when the work is done, not when the clock says you go home. her rent, which covers her room, all utilities including cable and internet and her transportation is $103 per week. they deduct that out of there pay and after that she clears in the mid 300 range per week. as you can tell, the kids not starving.:lmao:
she had talked about bring her car down. everybody says you need your car! well, she has found you can drive around for a half hour looking for a parking spot and having to walk 3 city blocks to the mk bus. everyone that works in the mk takes a bus from near the transportation building to behind the mk.
pay day is easy, E P C O T every pay comes on Thursday. :lmao:

I paid my own way thru college, but DW insists we pay for dds. What's up with this trend?

Not even going to try to catch up on what I have missed.

Classic Dis-

Good Monday to all. Missed the last few days so I'm going back exactly two pages and that's it.
.

-Dad effort.

Good afternoon from Siegburg, Germany, a small city near Cologne. Interesting couple of days. We left Newport and drove to Dover. Spent the night there and took the ferry over to Calais, France. They were having a musical festival and the town was packed. Had a great meal and took in the atmosphere. Fun evening.

Then it was a 4 hour drive through France, Belgium, and then Germany. Yesterday was a tour of wine country. Sampled some wine and visited a couple of picture perfect German towns. Today we are resting up and going shopping in Siegburg..

CJ is paying for college, European vacations, and camper hookups. See Rob, it's possible.

Morning everyone...

The beat goes on around here. Audrey responded well to her meds, back to normal. DW woke this morning to the same throat issues, off to the clinic for her. Sad thing is I'm feeling a little funny too, but will wait and see how it goes. Work will be super busy this week, we are heading into a long weekend, so the loads are big, and it doesn't help half the staff are out on first aid training.
.

Glad to hear she is better.

I'm not sure how this happened, but here at work I've been nominated to head up a committee that will decide what our team-building event will be for this summer.:confused3 We have 65 people under the VP that wants this event to happen and I have about $25 a head to work with. The only stipulations for the event are:
- No amusement park (they know me well enough :lmao:)
- Must have some form of team-building to it
- Don't go over budget.

So... anyone have any ideas? popcorn::

Hire me. I'll put on a good show. :lmao:

what is the really cool part I thought....... when we were walking in the mk when she wasn't working, some cast members walk by her and say " briana"!
it was odd at first till I realized the kid works here and she works outside so she sees a lot of cast members. we met a few of her trainers just walking around.
I have to tell you, when we were saying good bye Saturday night, she started crying. which made tammy start crying. tammy said January will be here before you know it. (January is her release date) she said I don't want to come home, I want you guys to move here. :scratchin

the hours are long
the people are nuts
but all in all, I never seen the kid with out a smile on her face other then when we were leaving. :rotfl2:

Well, let's just say there might be enough to upgrade that extra value meal to a large at lunch...

$15 for showing up, $40 if I'm selected on a jury

Dave, I'm glad Briana is enjoying her time working there. I hope you can all work it out so that you can move down and she can stay, if that's what she wants to do.
