I'm not sure how this happened, but here at work I've been nominated to head up a committee that will decide what our team-building event will be for this summer.:confused3 We have 65 people under the VP that wants this event to happen and I have about $25 a head to work with. The only stipulations for the event are:
- No amusement park (they know me well enough :lmao:)
- Must have some form of team-building to it
- Don't go over budget.

So... anyone have any ideas? popcorn::

First thing that comes to mind is a rope course, but I'm not sure if $25 will cover the cost. I'd also say maybe a Tide's B-ball game, but not sure how you can weave a "team-building" into other than you are going to cheer on the home TEAM. Pretty sure they have a section you can rent and have food catered. Would be a nice opportunity to grip-and-grin, share a few drinks, eat some ballpark food and watch a game.

Sorry. You lost me at "no amusement park" :rotfl2::rotfl:

And as far as the second requirement goes... depends on what their definition of Team-building is. :confused3

Ok, Darcy wins. You could do a lot with $25 per head here. :thumbsup2 :drinking1

Good morning gents! Trust all had a good weekend. Been a bit since posting as we had college orientation for DD last week after coming back from vaca so been a bit hectic with the travel and keeping up on the day job stuff. This is gonna be the first full 5 day work week since the week of May 20 so gonna be a bit tough:sad2:

GO HAWKS! but me thinks it is gonna go to game 7 on Wednesday night.

Well, we all had a great time. Got to see where briana lives, works and even a little behind the scenes of the magic kingdom. This place amazes me every time. But tonight was our last together. She stayed with every night while we were here. She didn't have to be at work today till 6:45 so we had the entire day together. We had our hugs at buzz lighter meet and greet and she went behind the wall. We just had to see her one more time. We won't leave if her and mom our crying. We took some pictures and headed out.

We had a great time B!!!! Can't wait till September!!!! 82 more days !!!!
Glad the family had a great time and that you got to spend time with DD. Thansk again for sharing the story and keep those stories and details coming. DS joined us at DDs college orientation and was excited to see information at the school about the Disney college & intern programs :)
Evening guys. Spent a good couple of days up at the beach with the family. Back to the grind tomorrow, but headed up to Maine for the week of the 4th. Should be fun. :thumbsup2
Glad you enjoyed sounds great.

Morning guys.:surfweb:

Where will you be Paul? Jodi and I will be in Maine too.

We're up in the Lakes region. Looks like you're going to Bar Harbor? That's a pretty long drive from our place, but depending on your drive there you'll most likely go right through our town here in Mass. Let me know when you head this way, maybe we can meet up. :thumbsup2

Ironically enough, that was NOT one of the items discussed in the requirements... and I was not going to ask :rolleyes1

There's Triple R Ranch down here that actually has rope courses for team building outings.... it's on my list for now. We have quite a number of folks that I would wonder if they could complete a course like that (medical issues), but we'll see. A Tide's game was also mentioned as a possibility. It seems our company has some sort of deal with them and we could get discounted entry. Thanks for the suggestions :thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao: It was funny... the manager that called me to discuss this stuff knows me well. He knows that I would try to get everyone down to WDW if I could :rotfl2:

And yes... that would be a very interesting team builder there.

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Did I mention I work for a healthcare company? :rotfl2:

Looking at the map, it looks doable. It would be sometime Saturday morning. When are you leaving?

Not even going to try to catch up on what I have missed. Work CRUD and home CRUD. I am actually looking at two weeks with only one or two half-day road trips so I hope to do better. Happy Summer Dads.

Our last Team Building event was Frisbee Golf with some additional team building twists added in at several holes. Most everyone thought that it was a good event and I believe that it was fairly cheep to do (the VP that organized it is very money conscious).

If you can, look into the Disney Institute maybe not for this but for other business development / team building. I organized a group for work with 1 person from evey functional area to go a Quality Service program. Great insights from a business perspective plus these things are held at the world including behind the scenes tours and how they put into real life the stuff they share. Lot more than $25.00 per head though

I just noticed that Disney is not offering non-expiring passes on their website anymore. Did I miss an announcement? Undercover tourist still has some.

Good Monday to all. Missed the last few days so I'm going back exactly two pages and that's it. Prayers for those in need, happy and congratulations to all deserving. It was 96 degrees and humid here yesterday and it's supposed to continue for the next few days. Not sure I'm ready for it yet.

I sense the Canadain army is mobilizing.

We ain't gonna to take it!

Not the penguins again!:faint: Paul and I are going to string fishing line across the boarder about an inch off the ground. It works with seagulls and ducks. They hate that #%@$^#$&.:lmao::lmao:

Hey! Let's keep clean here Kid! This is a family thread... well, sort of. :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

T-minus 4.5 days, 'til we are on our way to Bar Harbor for 4th of July Week! :woohoo:

We are heading to North Conway for a long weekend Friday-Monday. Honk on your way by. Still need to have that lunch.:rolleyes1

Let's see - how about a day at the beach? Caterer would be about that for a BBQ (with bacon, of course). You could build sand sculptures. :lmao::lmao: We have done a dinner/sunset cruise and dancing, but I think it was a little more than $25 a person and not sure what team building there is unless you toss someone over and then save him.

Did you check on line. There must be a bazillion companies that do this sort of thing. Good luck> I'll ask around. I have a few friends that do the team things every year.

I was going to try to join in, but we'll be in North Conway by Friday afternoon at the latest. If you find yourself in North Conway around lunch time, let me know.

Still offer it, just don't promote it. If you buy tickets, you can request it and they will sell it to you. The rumor was that they were going to eliminate it, but my BIL just bought NE tickets last week for a last minute July trip. He plans to use about half the days and then the remaining some other time.

Good. Thanks. The way they jack up the price every year, I like to lock in a current year's prices for a while.

aaaaaaaaaaaaand your point? :confused3 :smokin:

Went home for lunch and as soon as I walked through my front door I was engaged by a hostile 5 year old armed with a repeating Nerf gun.
anim_uzi.gif

Caught off guard, I had but one option to "UnA$$" the area, regroup and consider options.

Once the offender was clearly out of ammo and unable to reload, he made a quick retreat to his stronghold in the back of the house. In true insurgent form, he then reappeared unarmed and seemingly oblivious to the attack.:confused3

At that time, a second ambush was launched by an Irish 30 something Banshee, utilizing same Nerf style weaponry.
anim_rocket.gif

I again conducted a tactical exfil in order to regroup.
anim_brick.gif

By the time I returned, both suspects were perched on the couch feigning innocence, and indignant that I would accuse them of such a brazen attack.:rolleyes1

At this time....a counterattack is being planned.

That is all.

Lunch hour in the Fed Household

That could happen Jim. We'll see how things play out.

This will be the last time Fed returns home unarmed. The Nerf company is about to sell a Nerf weapon armory.
