I just booked SSR for 15-22 November. First time we've been that late, so we'll see how it goes.

Otherwise, life is good:goodvibes

You get a MVMCP. I am jealous as I would really like to go that time.

Hi guys! Presentations are over. Tonight is our sales dinner so I'm looking forward to that. Question of the day: what will make your territory grow?? Me: um, more sales.

Hello, is this the Mr. Obvious show? I have a question. What will make my sales territory grow?

I thought that I would mention a little perk that I have in this new job. I have been doing videos for the company, we are posting them so that our customers can see our product. They are water related so I pitched getting a water proof video camera to assist in my videos. They totally agreed and now I get to test it on my trip, so that I can "become familiar with how it works". :woohoo:It is a popular, small, well rounded camera that I would never be able to afford myself. I am hoping to have a lot of fun with it on our trip.
Side note, the videos are doing fairly well as far as views, so they are happy about that.

Free perks are always fun.

DW I had first serious talk about our 2014 trip tonight. She wants a 1-bedroom to allow us to put DS to bed and we can stay up for a bit. So, I started looking at off-site and just can't bring myself to do it. I know lots of folks do it and it works just fine for them. For us, total Disney immersion is part of the overall experience of going on vacation to WDW. So, I then started looking at renting DVC points at Boardwalk or something similar with "lower" point requirements. We'll see how it works out...

Any of you fellas ever rent points? Don't want to get too far off topic here as I know there is a dedicated DVC rental board, but just wanted to see what the guys I've come to know and trust think. :grouphug:

There are a few of us who have. I don't think you are overstepping by asking. BWV is cheap with the standard view, but you need to be ready at the 11 month mark. Those can go fast. OKW is also a good resort with low points and more availability. We did a 1 BR back in 2009 at SSR and it was amazing. Since then, we have just stuck with studios, twice a year. This year, we are going back to the 1 BR. My dds are now 11 & almost 9, so having that extra space with DW will be nice.

Thanks Norm, that's good advice. We're looking at last week of Jan, so hopefully availability will be there. If not, I'll open up my search to the others you mentioned. Bottom line, we want to stay on property!

You can also post on DisDad FB site or the pub. I would offer to rent you mine, but I am trying for the BCV or VGF in 2014. I'm going big - whatever size room they have available. And, I agree - there is nothing like on property stays.

I think I phrased my sentence incorrectly. Was really asking if anyone here was the renter of points from someone else and their thoughts on the whole process. Looks pretty easy. My biggest fear is that I rent points from someone, lose my job (or some other major financial disaster) and have to cancel. Most rentals appear to be non-refundable. But, if I'm that nervous about it, probably should just book direct. We shall see...

Thanks. She just finished her masters of education, she had a chemistry degree, so she is excited about the possibilities for the future.

Excellent!! My wife is studying for her NBCT in Literacy. Has been doing the written part for almost a year now & takes her online test next week. Her passing could mean at least 1 more Disney trip each year!

Had a little drama today. We found curly red locks of hair on the floor of the family room. It turns out Ds had taken a pair of kiddy scissors and gave DD a trim. He just got her bangs and a hunk closer to her ear. To be honest, we would not have noticed if we didn't find the hair. After asking them what happened and translating four year old we determined that DD was annoyed with her bangs getting in her eyes and DS took care of it for her.

I think I'll sit back and watch the US World Cup Qualifier with my good buddy Jameson.

He gets confused easily.

DW have been talking about getting a pop-up camper for years now. Hopefully we can get the cash together in the next couple of years. I'd love to take the kids up north and out to Yellowstone.

Camping at Yellowstone is one of my bucket list items. It basically includes driving a camper west to Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone & Grand Canyon. After that I will never want to see a camper again!

About 4 months until our next trip. Along with the planning comes anothe proud DIS Dad moment. My 5 YO DD perpetually asks me, "Can we do Disney trivia?" which means I ask her various questions about the Parks, attractions, restaurants, etc. Things that she can tell me...
  • The difference between quick service, table service and snack
  • The names of the 4 Parks and their key land marks.
  • MOST of the names of the lands. She can routinely name at least 6 areas of DHS...3 or 4 areas of AK....both areas of EPCOT and all the lands in MK
  • She knows, minimally, every ride that I name, the Park it resides, and in some cases, WHERE in the Park.
  • She knows where a variety of restaurants and their resorts. And if they are table or quick service.
  • She knows the year WDW opened and the order in which the Parks were built.
  • She knows all the stops of the monorail.

As we are all zealots here in the DIS DAD circle, let me know if there are other things that I can challenge her with. I'm at the point where I am now delving into Commando strategies and philosophy ("To purchase the DDP or not, that is the question!") which is very difficult to explain to a 5 YO who doesn't start Kindergarten until this Fall.

I've spent so much time on these topics with her, that she knows a bit more than her 8 YO sister! I need to spread the wealth!

The Force is strong in that one!

Hey look! A new ticker!!

:cool1::cool1:

One Canadian says yes. One Canadian says no. I didn't know Canadians disagreed...

It's the only way we didn't win the War of 1812..

So did they just rename the old photopass "PhotoCD"? And is Photopass+ just the same thing with ride photos and select dining photos included? Anyone know what dining locations would be in there?

Participating Attractions: Space Mountain; Splash Mountain; Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin; The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror; Rock ‘n Roller Coaster; Expedition Everest; and Dinosaur.

Participating Character Dining Locations: 1900 Park Fare; 'Ohana (breakfast only); Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show; Chef Mickey’s; Cinderella’s Royal Table; Tusker House (breakfast only); Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue; and Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

I stand corrected... :thumbsup2

That would get tiring for a while, better sit corrected.

Took me a bit of exploring to find the +CD, at first could only find the regular one

I started a 5K training program. Started off using a couch 25k one, then found one called Zombies, run! Pretty cool story line and has cool stats to show your progress. It's def motivated me. I have about 7 runs in so far.
The programs are both supposed to be 8 week programs (running 3x a week) but I am trying to run about 5x a week. I am trying to regulate myself else I might disqualify my member ship in Team Sparrow. So I need to make sure that I am incorporating rum into the training program.

Brett: I'm in Week 6 of C25K. Just ran Day 2 this evening. I dread day 3....22 minutes no stopping. It's going to be a tough one! :scared:

I did a C2-5k program last year to get my running started and then used a modified Hal Higdon program to get myself up to the half marathon distance that I ran in January. Didn't do any running after the race until mid March. Was pretty good in March and April and even snuck in a 5 mile race. Then in May the wheels fell off. I got maybe 1 or 2 runs a week in for the first 3 weeks and haven't run 1 time since Memorial Day. Now that my DW has the summer off I plan to kick it back in to high gear with a regular schedule. My diet hasn't been good either so my DisDad's dri-fit shirts that I just got are a bit too snug to wear right now. Time to hit the reset button!:headache:

Good luck & get moving! It's not easy!

I probably misunderstood you. I've never rented points, but others have.

LOL! I've lived in KY most of my life & STILL chuckle every time I hear/think about Big Bone Lick! :lmao:

It's still funny.

Been there. Never had siblings cut hair, but my oldest decided to give herself a haircut once. It hurt DW way more than me.

Been watching the Heat Spurs. Apparently, the storyline the NBA is selling is close game 1, followed by blow outs by Heat game 2 and now Spurs game 3. It's hard to figure out how game 1 was won by 4 points, and games 2 & 3 will be blowout wins of 20.

Sorry. Some call me Mick. :)

I thought I told you all my name, but I guess I did not.

My real name is Robert Michael Colosimo, so that's where I get my RMColosimo nickname from. And Mick is my in life nickname, since my father was also a Robert and he did not want to call me Jr, or some such variation on that.

So just call me Mick. :)

Great to have you with us Mick! Also, good to see another buckeye in the bunch!! I used to work with a guy nicknamed Mick...he got fired last week. Hope you still around longer :lmao:

I've heard of kids cutting their own hair or older sibling deviously doing it to a younger sibling. But I've never heard of a girl willingly letting her brother do it. And we would not have noticed if they had thrown to locks away. He just chopped the bangs.

I just can't bring myself to watch basketball anymore. The blowouts are no fun and the close games take an hour to play the last two minutes.

We've tent camped a few times and I am just not a fan. Give me someplace dry where we can store everything and sleep off the ground. I would love an RV but that is not realistic. So I'll settle for a light camper.

Morning from Shropshire, UK. Left Miami at 6:30 pm on Monday, arrived at Heathrow at 7 am on Tuesday. The trip was a bit of a bear, crowded and long. Weather in London was a chilly and a drizzling. Good day though. Lots of laughs and good cheer.

Today we go to my Brit friend's sister's place. She has horses and her husband owns a small brewery. The Pirate Princess does not know it yet but she will be riding. She is going to love it. I will be touring the brewery. Win on both sides.

Can't catch up on the posts but will try later. Have a good Wednesday.
