Morning guys. Prayers appreciated, I have a customer who is on the war path and wants my head on a platter. She is making my life an absolute he-double hockey stick right now.

Her company does hardly anything with us, yet she causes more tension than my largest customers. All customers are important, but I wish I could drop them. :confused3

Sorry about that - hopefully you can end up dropping 'em if the volume is not worth the resource drain and stress levels. Hit her with a price increase due to "unwanted and unnecessary whining about absolutely nothing important" :duck:

'Morning Gents!

Found out yesterday that DS (who's still baking in mommy's tummy) is already weighing in at 10 lbs 8 ozs with 2 weeks to go! Unless he decides to come earlier, he'll be here next Thursday!!!

I think I need to start allocating more to the grocery budget now. This boy is going to be big!

Good Morning Men!

Remember I'm still looking for a Rum Dole Whip with Bacon.

We have talked about a lot of things here in the clubhouse, but this has never come up.
Looks like we will be flying down to WDW for our Nov trip, and it will be during dinner time. In the pass DW and I would bring something to eat on the plane, on one flight we took PBJ's, it was a peanut free flight. (SW doesn't serve meals.) I remember CJ telling us about a flight from Hades where someone was eating a stinky sandwich.

So, my question to you is, what would make a sky friendly meal?
smiley-vault-character-015.gif

Pickled herring and hard boiled eggs.

I wondered how long it would take for someone to post that. :rotfl2:

Not sure which car it is but I am going to guess you have around 100K - 120K miles on a GM transmission and this has been getting worse for about 2 months?
First check the fluid, you need to have it in neutral with the engine running to get an accurate read. (block the wheels or we will have other problems to fix)
If you are low, adding fluid will make the symptoms better but not fix the problem. Best case on a leak is the transmission pan gasket. It is about $6 worth of parts to fix but its $150 if you take it in because it is a pain to get to.
If the fluid is fine there are a lot of ways it could go. Has your check engine light come in lately? Let me know what kind of car it is adn if the fluid is ok.
My first suggestion would be to drop the pan, change the filter and gasket and refill the fluid. Relatively cheap if you do it yourself. :confused3

I don't know how it is with you, but we've dropped a couple of trouble customers. They just get to the point of causing more trouble than they're worth. Good luck.

First of all, you're going to need to allocate a lot more money to the grocery/diaper/all that other baby stuff budget anyway.

Those measurements can be off too. DD was a week overdue and they made an appointment to induce because they told us she was 8.5 - 10.5 pounds.

She was 6 pounds 14 ounces.

Good luck to you and mommy and baby! :thumbsup2

Time to start recruiting. Can you send the tape to the college coach already?

I plan on being on the phone bright and early at the 180 day mark.

I can book starting next Monday. Bummer that we're going to miss each other by about a day.

Good luck on the ADRs. Hopefully, you can get what you want. Maybe we will overlap trip days one of these years. We've got between 30 to 45 left?

Not sure which is worse..us requesting photos, you posting the link or how quickly I clicked on said link when I saw it posted.
:lmao::rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

I noticed that too. Hopefully, she is not a good it hacker and saw that.

Does that mean you get a raise?

No. Potion will get a raise and Calipari will get a bigger recruiting budget to beat UL. They may discontinue the non-important subjects like the math department.

I like your answer better than the Claven one. It is a GM, Pontiac Astek. It has over 100K, and has been getting worse over the past two months. The check engine light has not come on. I'll check the fluid and get back to you.

Hang in there buddy.

What, a Rum Dole Whip isn't good enough. If it is a peanut free flight, can you still bring a nutella sandwich? Those fake cheese n crackers may not be a great meal, but they are portable and filling.

Been off the Boards for a few days. I'm into week 2 of our "Crazy 2 weeks" which consists of swimming lessons for 2 consecutive weeks accompanied by my oldest DD's First Holy Communion, Religious Education classes and a dry run on Thursday for her First Holy Communion.
On top of that, I wrecked my car last Thursday. No injuries other then the car! Oh, and filing our taxes. yeah, how could I forget that one!
And I took a new job...with the same company,,,but nonetheless, a new job.

Hope everyone is doing well. Gonna try and cycle through the board to see what I missed!

That is a crazy 2 weeks. Sorry to hear about the car and glad for no injuries. Congrats to your dd on her first communion.

Monday morning planning ownage. The plan is almost set for the October trip. We have a 1 BR at OKW, arriving Oct 5. I will use the online system for the other two ADRs.

Sat - Resort, Olivia's breakfast, Mass, EoS dinner
Sun - MNSSHP, 6:50 PM BoG
Mon - Resort, Fulton's Crab House dinner
Tues - MK, 10:20 AM CRT
Wed - Resort, WHW, ESPN Club late lunch
Thurs - Epcot - F&W
Fri - WPE lunch & depart

I may try to move BoG time a little earlier, but I like the plan. Now, only 29 more days until I can book BWV for Spring Break 2014.

Nice snag with BoG for the Halloween party. Earlier would be nice but I would take it. Haven't eaten at Fulton's in a while and would be interested in how dinner was.

Like most of you, too many to list but here is a snapshot of my Disney resume:...

Welcome.

Sad but she is now out of pain. MS type illnesses are terrible to both the person and their family.

Still too early to tell. Based on old wivestales the heartrate would indicate that it's another girl. Based on the chinese birthing chart it should be a boy...

Edit: I forgot to add. Based on my heartrate at the thought of another girl you all should start buying stock in MillerCoors and Jameson's!

THREE GIRLS! I have my fingers crossed you for. "And may your next child be a masculine child." I have one and it nearly killed me. If it is a girl, maybe you and Mike can form a support group.

Maybe for the next meet you should be showing the Queen of Hearts in the "Off with her Head" scene.

We have talked about a lot of things here in the clubhouse, but this has never come up.

Can't remember off the top of my head which trip from Hades that was. Maybe that is a good thing. Hate when someone starts chowing down on something that was recently cooked. I usually bring a deli type sandwich (ham and cheese, tuna, egg salad...). I also load up on munchies. I figure If I don't eat them on the plane, I'll eat them later. Lately I am on a kick of cheese, meat and cracker platter things to nibble on during the flight.

You could always try to slip into First Class and grab a meal there. Get the penguins to distract them.

Hey Norm, I just had an idea.

Didn't they make some kind of tent that you could get for an Aztek to make it basically a poor man's RV?

I think it would look good on some blocks in front of CJ's house. That might be your best bet if it does turn out to be an expensive transmission problem. :rolleyes1

Something that I noticed and folks have sporadically noted in our DIS Dads thread....venturing out into other boards on the DIS:scared1:

I have had mixed experiences , but there's def a lot of folks out there that like to rain on folks parades. It makes me appreciate what takes place on this board and the infinite wisdom contained within all of our posts!:rotfl2::worship:

We found Fulton's by accident on our honeymoon, then it was all the character buffets, and then have been back during each of our last four trips. The lunch menu was not very good, but dinner consists of either king crab claws, lobster tail, lobster mac n cheese, king crab legs, calamari, and youngest gets steak. We haven't had a bad dinner there.

Yes, the Aztek had a tent option you could order from the dealer. I think your idea may be the better idea. Then, I wouldn't need to empty the sewage into CJ's storm drain in my bathrobe. I could just walk into his house and use the bathroom - robe optional. :scared1:

Yeah... I pretty much try to stick around the Trip Reports board and the Disdads sub forum here. Anything else can be dangerous territory. The last time I went to the theme park strategy board, I got into it with a troll. There are just so many people on these boards that do nothing but try to create arguments. Such a pain... :furious:

So true. I've got into trouble out there, usually when calling out stupidity or posters who have no respect for others.

Congrats to UL Cardinals. Another championship for a Kentucky school. This just in - tuition rates at KY universities to double next year.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
I was rooting hard for UL last night although I do like John Beilein. Had to root for Big East\ACC though!

Congrats on the new job, on your DD's First Communion, sorry to hear about your car. Glad you re ok :thumbsup2

Good game, and thank goodness Michigan didn't win. I preserved first place in my work bracket since UL won. It's about time I got assistance from a Kentucky school :rotfl2:
Yeah, car wrecks suck but you watch the news and do a little reflection and it doesn't seem so bad when it's just the car that's damaged.
Congrats on your brackets!:thumbsup2

Tricky b\c you have to keep a lot of sandwiches chilled. PB&J seems like the obvious choice. My daughter outgrew her peanut allergy but we used to just put jelly on her sandwiches. Not sure what you can carry on to planes in the way of ice packs and such but I'd go simple ham and cheese, carrots, apple slices.
Meals you can pack for air travel

Good luck on the ADRs. Hopefully, you can get what you want. Maybe we will overlap trip days one of these years. We've got between 30 to 45 left?
2 biggies are BOG (obviously) and CRT. We are celebrating the girls' birthdays. My youngest's is actually while we are there. So the eldest wants her Bday meal at BOG and the youngest decided on CRT. We'd like to time them with the MNSSHP, but we'll have to see how it plays out.
Yeah, I'm thinking I have about 46 years of DVC left!

I have no excuse.

Those two boards seem to be the safest from the keyboard warriors.

CJ would miss out on you yelling to the neighbors that you are emptying the crapper :lmao:

Wow... been a frantic couple weeks here at work. I've missed a large portion of this thread now :(

Looks like things are slowing down a little here though, so I should have more time to lurk and throw in my occasional $.02.

On an even more positive note, got the DW working on details for our next trip to the World. Sure it's like 10months away, but it's never too early to start planning right? :hyper:

So this Monday just got better.

$800 repair needed on our Cherokee. The bonus is the warranty expired 3 weeks ago.

That's the plan. They design them that way. The computer controls the WHOLE thing.:headache:

Wow that is a big baby. I am sure mom cant wait till next Thursday.
Congrats and good luck

It is a GM, Pontiac Astek. It has over 100K, and has been getting worse over the past two months. The check engine light has not come on. I'll check the fluid and get back to you.

As long as your check engine light is not coming on then your modules and vacuum lines are good.
If it is not a fluid leak from the gasket then your secondary clutch assembly is going out. It was a problem on all 2001-2008 GM transmissions once they hit 100K.

The sort of good news is that you can drive it till the transmission falls off (that happened to my last truck literally) and it will be the same price to fix it as it would be today. You are not going to do any more damage to the transmission as long as you keep fluid in it.
The bad news is the fix is a rebuild. You can get a rebuilt trans for around $700-$750 plus labor to install that will last you another 150K miles.
Sorry i cant give you good news, there very rarely is on a transmission.

Still too early to tell. Based on old wivestales the heartrate would indicate that it's another girl. Based on the chinese birthing chart it should be a boy.

I think it's still another 8 weeks or so before we can find that out. On the first 2 we didn't find out. I think DW is leaning towards finding out this time in case it's a boy she can toss out all the pink baby clothes.

Edit: I forgot to add. Based on my heartrate at the thought of another girl you all should start buying stock in MillerCoors and Jameson's!

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Congratulations. Here's hoping for a boy. It's nice having one of each. No pressure to keep going.

Cross posting to see what kind of conversation I can get....

So what's you top or must take tech and gadgets when in the parks? And for you fellow smartphone uses what's you top apps for in the parks?

For me it's my smartphone, extra batteries, pocket camera, and pocket knife (yeah it low tech but no dad should ever be with out a knife - when possible)

Just my smartphone. Used to bring the camera, but now use PP+ and if we want other pictures, we use the phone.

Well, ain't that a kick in the pants. I tend to expect the worse, that way, I won't be disappointed. Still, a replacement transmission is cheaper than a new car or car payments. Thanks for the info.
