Dad question: anyone contemplating going to Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim in 2015? Thoughts?

Had some brief discussions about it but understanding that registration is already open - over a year out, really? Me and DS have done 2 Celebrations and this one peaked interest due to location and ability to add a couple of days to DL. Kicker is DS would have to be pulled out of school and its just a bit too far out to lock & load considering school and work schedules.

I've talked to DW about it already. I mentioned to her we could knock out two bucket list items (Celebration and DLR) in one shot. We'll try and start saving up for it.

Busy day after a 3 day weekend... naturally.

Brent, trip looks like it was a lot of fun! So how did the FP+ work for you having no set plan? :confused3

Happy Birthday to the Ice Monkey.

Fed, Congrats to the Tigers on their win. Now if that other ACC team could have just taken care of business, then you'd have more room to taunt CJ.

Schedule is done for the rest of the year. There are still some miles, but no overnights on the books. Glad to be close to home. Finished last major project on Friday, so now i'm coasting until someone notices.

Good morning gentlemen. First chance to check in since Thursday. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Happy anniversary Norm.

Thanks.

I always learn something on the long weekends.

Having to work sux. :sad2:
.

You just now learned that? :lmao:

Morning Dads! Every week needs to be a 4-day work week. Sounds like all had a good Labor Day weekend, football helped make it a good one for sure. DD made it back to school safe after a couple of day visit - was nice to see her. Have a good one guys.
.

Glad dd was able to visit. I don't know who set up the 5 day work week, but they should be hunted down for it. 4 day or 3 day work week is enough.

Happy Anniversary Norm and DW! (Sorry it's late)

]

I recognize that button. Thanks.

Just went through a half a dozen four day work weeks. The day off was nice but the 20% pay cut wasn't much fun at all.....:(

No one said anything about cutting pay, just number of days. I can easily accomplish my work week in 3 days or less. Just have to drag it out to five for the masters.

Great advice, along with investing for retirement. If only I had learned that lesson .....

You read that completely wrong. Jim was drinking and typing again.

Thanks. You offer to pay everyone's bills, tell everyone you have Cj's credit card number and now I have to stop drinking while typing. Doesn't seem fair to me.:confused3

Howdy guys...

Just a quick pop to say we made it home in two days. Our stay overnight in Fayetteville NC didn't go too smooth, so it prompted us to boogie on home. Got in around 12:30 am. Got everything up, now going to get some much needed sleep.

Glad you made it home safely. I'll PM you for Amelia's email if she has one so her and Alexandra can keep in touch. School starts here tomorrow so I'm sure she'll enjoy some good news. :thumbsup2

anyone have any thoughts on this one???

I still don't know what to think. I guess ill have to wait to see it.

Saw the preview. Looks pretty good. Most likely a date night movie for us.

Doing our fasspass+ reservations for our trip in November.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

30 pages behind and just time to wish a Happy Labor Day Dads!

Sounds like you have your direction for the day.

Organizing pics is a lot like pulling teeth today, not getting much uploaded before things go wrong..I need a nap. :rotfl2:

I'm not a huge fan of pre planning when to hit attractions, so I'm still on the fence about it. I Did a lot of moving around my selections as I went, to get a better flow to the day. I DID love not needing to rush and get FPs for the usual two rides, Soarin' and TSM, but I did take advantage of the duo system and grabbed passes with my KTTW card as well for paper ones. I see an advantage to using the parade/fireworks to get a decent viewing area for these. (The Wishes FP+ area is the Rose Garden, we had a large area of that pathway all to ourselves.) We got a lot done in MK in the AM as usual, Barnstormer, Dumbo,Mermaid M&G, Under the Sea, Gaston M&G the Sideshow Characters, Splash & BTMRR, Mansion, Pirates, Aladdin's Carpets all before lunch the first day, using the + and low lines. In the case of the Parade incident, I had FP+ the viewing area but changed it right after we were selected andchanged the time to a Space Mountain pass. Some things I opted to use the FP+ had no waits early on so we did the ride and I changed the later + to somnething else.

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend:goodvibes, I know my wallet did this weekend I labored, 2 days into the workweek already have 13hrs OT + Holiday pay:cool1: and with the OT from when I got back from WDW a nice chunk will be put away for our next trip:worship:

Nice to be able to get some extra $$ for the trip. Try not to work too hard. Of course I don't get paid if I work overtime or holidays.

Good morning guys. Love these short work weeks :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday to the almighty and powerful Rafiki, aka, Barry party:

Happy Birthday Barry! :bday:

She has one she's never used before..:rotfl2: I'll send it to you later on. Congrats on booking the bounceback, I didn't even find where they hid it till the last day, and man it was tempting, but didn't have the $200 to put down, so decided to back off of it. Figures, it was the Free Dining we wanted too. I think we might aim for late january 2015, around DW's bday if I can talk her into pulling the girls from school for a week. Flying again too, DW doesn't want to drive again for a while.:rotfl2: I think we will do the cottage up north for a week next year instead and save up for a good trip.

Happy Birthday Barry! Enjoy the day.

Oh man what a weekend....I'm glad I had a day to recover after Saturday Night:lmao::lmao:

Cj....ACC ACC ACC ACC....:rotfl2:

Good win for the Tigers. It was a great game to watch, Boyd looks like an early Heisman favorite.

Fed, Congrats to the Tigers on their win. Now if that other ACC team could have just taken care of business, then you'd have more room to taunt CJ.

Not saying anything else until after the UM game on Saturday. Hate the Canes more than any other team. I don't want to hear it from friends down here that are bandwagon jumpers depending on how the Canes play.

Happy birthday Barry!

Man, it was hard rolling out of bed this morning. At least football is back. So we have that going for us, which is nice.

If it means anything to you, I hate Miami and FSU with the same passion I hate Georgia and South Carolina:rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are trying to plan a non-Disney trip in either February or April and a couple of weekends away between now and then. New York looks to be the next destination for a weekend. We only had the discount, no FD on the bounce back. I'll have to take a look and see where we would have saved more. Going OOP this time really makes me wonder. We saved by going OOP, but we had 2 days off property with meals included.

Okay, I got Mickey onto Youtube...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_3VHwCH6hc&feature=youtu.be

Quality is not great, I have a shooting hand like the Waco Kid.

Looks like everyone had a lot of fun.:thumbsup2

Happy birthday Rafiki!!!

Happy Birthday to the almighty and powerful Rafiki, aka, Barry

Happy Birthday Barry! :bday:
Thanks Jim!
Happy Birthday Barry! Enjoy the day.
Thanks CJ. I'm at work, so that kind of sucks. But it was also the first day of school, which means day care bills are going to drop like a rock. :cool1:

Thanks Mark.

Next time, please separate any messages to me and the statement "Man, it was hard rolling out of bed this morning" into different posts. I'd hate for people to get the wrong impression. :lmao:
