Deja Vu Ownage! How Cool Is That?!?

Re: Disney swear words, I guess i missed this since i was at the hospital all morning with the wife and her siblings, waiting to see what progress (none) her brother is making. I would like to offer two suggestions however.

Son of a Sailor! and

Sister Mary Francis!

Good morning gentlemen. :coffee:

Its been a wild week here. I'm so far behind I'm not going to bother catching up. (My inbox has 90 items and my RSS feed has over 200). Welcome new guys, condolences and congratulations where appropriate and bacon for all.

I was able to get a 40 hour work week in. Which is pretty impressive considering work is only guaranteeing part timers three days. I also had a funeral Friday for BIL's mother. Saturday my parents took the kids for the weekend. DW and I made a casino run. We both walked away up a few bucks. Sunday was a shopping run with no kids. Monday was a blur. And yesterday we met my folks at the State Fair to get the kids back. Temp at the fair was 95. We've never seen the place so empty. Yes it was hot but with so few people there were plenty of open park benches in the shade and no line for food vendors. The kids did fantastic. We went nice and slow with tons of water breaks. Every potty break we also refilled water bottles. Only thing I would change is have an extra pair of shoes for each kid. My mom packed the park bag and did not add a second pair of shoes for the kids. DS got a blister early and went through about 5 band aids. We're worried how DD will do on dark and noisy rides. so we had her ride on Ye Old Mill (Tunnel of Love). once we got her in the seat we had no worries.

I just got some pretty cool news (not Disney Related...that's the coolest news there is)

I just found out I'm a finalist for consideration for a show called Elite Tactical Unit on the Outdoor Channel. :cool1:

Basically it takes 20 SWAT types from all over the country, divides you into two teams with an advisor and you compete until one is left standing.

The competition includes individual and team competitions with eliminations...

They're filming the next season now, so it would be the following season. A lot will depend on my schedule between now and then, and I still have a few hoops to clear that I can't do anything about, but I qualified with no problem...

Now I gotta' go learn how to shoot a DA/SA pistol again since I carry a Glock and the show is sponsored by Sig Sauer...though I've taught and trained at Sig Sauer Academy and I'm a Sig Armorer so I'm familiar with the system (I also carry a Sig 220 at times)

Hey it's Camel Day (Randall) so you're on the down slope.

Thanks for the pick me up but my work week is Thursday through Monday. Today is my Sunday and I have no clue how I'll get the honey do list done.

Nice! Do the other competitors know you're a finalist? I'm guessing not, since they're still trying to get in because they think they have a chance at winning. :thumbsup2

Pretty Cool! Good Luck.

What we really want to know is will you wear a DisDads shirt while filming?

Morning guys. We had dinner with some friends last night and got quite a surprise. Their kids had been selling corn, tomatoes, peppers and other stuff from their garden to raise money for our adoption! The mom said it was the kids idea and they wanted to keep it a secret until last night. Due to the heat, my eyes were leaking water to help me cool off ;)

That was very cool of the kids to do.

Morning guys. Hope everyone has a good one!

Thanks Paul, my day is going well so far. Hope yours is doing the same.

Good luck. You should be a cinch unless someone here squeals about the "boating mishap." Promise you my lips are sealed. Not sure about Barry though.

Used to be a big Irish fan when I was a kid. I enjoyed watching them last year.

Good Morning Dads! Almost through the half way point. Have not looked this forward to a 3 day weekend since I can't recall :confused3 Likely family time. DD's school UT Chattanooga opens football season with a home game tomorrow night so even though they are not big time D1 I guess I need to follow them along with my team - GO IRISH! Have a good one gents.

Of course you have to root for her team. After all, a lot of your money is going there anyway. No football at Seton Hall so basketball is king. They stunk last year but I would catch games on TV when they were on.

How is she enjoying school so far?

And in case anyone forgot....

T-MINUS 28 HOURS AND 27 MINUTES TILL KICKOFF!

Congrats to Fed. I find the concept of last one standing sort of interesting. Does this include force on force live fire competitions?

Nice! Any opportunity to go out and shoot stuff.

My FIL was talking about going deep sea fishing this Friday. I found out that not only did he book the trip for us but got a Charter instead of us going on a Head Boat. :cool1:

While we’re on the subject… over in Mark’s current Hawaii TR (an excellent read by the way, everyone should check it out) there was an strong case made for the phrase: “Ko-Ko Head”, but I’m not sure if it only applies to The Captain or not.

Thanks for the plug, Koko Head!:thumbsup2

When you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Awesome! This is the first step to your guest spot/takeover of Justified.

Thanks guys! We'll see if it works out...

Congrats to Fed. I find the concept of last one standing sort of interesting. Does this include force on force live fire competitions?

Yes it does...Though I'm not sure what format they're going to go with for Force on Force. They used the vest with sensors format last season (for the life of me I cannot remember it's commercial name), not sure if they're going to continue with that or not....

Unless you're talking "live rounds"...in which case no they do not...LOL Which is a good thing...

Yea as long as I am "donating" need to follow the UTC teams - we are going down in a couple of weeks to catch a game with a weekend roadtrip. Thanks for asking about DD - she is loving it and having no problems with class or workload so far. We are lucky as she has her act together so we weren't too worried and hearing some of the horror stories from other parents about their freshmen early on we are even more proud of DD.

That's awesome coming from a Sox fan. :lmao:
