Evening...

That's where we are. I really want to do V&A, but I find the occasional restaurant we have missed in or eating around the world. There are some, like Restaurant Marrakesh, that I don't want to try. But, I realized some others I have missed along the way, like Beaches n Cream.

This trip we get to knock off Via Napoli, Be Our Guest, Kona, Yak and Yeti, and Whispering Canyon. Also trying Mama Melrose's but mainly for the Fantasmic package. Everything else are repeats for one reason or another.

Still on the "gotta try" list are 'Ohana (dinner), Cape May character Breakfast, Teppan Edo, Liberty Tree (lunch), and maybe Brown Derby.

Wanted to try, and strongly encouraged by Randy (Tutter99) to try Wolfgang Puck Express, and we were planning for a QS meal at DTD (besides Earl of Sandwich), this seems like a good time to try.

I have had some type of facial hair now for close to 20 years. My family has only seen my once in all that time without a beard or goatee. DW asked me to shave it off after we had been married for four or five years. After I did, she said never shave it off again. I do ugly good.

I shaved my goatee for the first time in 7 years last week. My sons had never seen me without. Needless to say i'm growing it back. My goatee shaves like 20 pounds off of me.

Other then the odd little period, I had the goatee for years up untill a couple of years ago. At one point I let it grow out untrimmed for about a year. I'm pretty sure that's how I stood out to be picked as "that guy" at the Laugh Floor.




I think it hit it's peak after the Adam West Pic, looks like I trimmedit back afterwards. I might regrow it again next, we'll see, there is a LOT more grey hair there now..

Busy day on the Dis for the Dads.

Greetings from the World fellow dads. I need Zerf to tell me where Brianna is so I can do a dis daughter meet. My munchkin doesn't think it's fair that only the dads meet. However she is a fan of Barry's family.

In case Dave doesn't happen by, I found her at the popcorn stand facing the castle in the hub. She could be working any of the outside concessions in the hub or Fantasy Land.

I'm starting to re-think the no cable environment in our house. As football approaches I think I'm going to have a hard time dominating fantasy football if I can't watch a game every now and then. I've been considering some of those subscription services (hulu) so we can watch some shows we like, but do any of those offer live sports? Mix in the fact that hockey is right around the corner and this little social experiment is going to be tought to stick with. And DW is talking about getting a new couch! What good is a new couch (with electric motorized recliner) if I can't watch football from it?

We dropped cable and I am happy with that decision. We do have Netflix through Apple TV. We bought an HD antenna at a garage sale so we get all the local channels, which means I can get all the football except MNF and ones on the NFL Network.

With all the Dad's down in WDW, I find the lack of meet ups with Briana and Stewart Disturbing!

Morning guys. Yesterday my in laws were supposed to visit for a few days. My MIL called at the last minute and said the kids (the grand kids that live with her) had flea bites all over them from being at their moms. She cancelled coming because she did not want to bring any fleas into our house. Seemed legit......until last night she posted on FB, they went to the beach, my SIL house and to church. If she could bring fleas here, wouldn't that work for where ever she goes? I have never had a pet with fleas do I really don't know.

What burns me up is that my daughters were crushed when they found out grandma wasn't coming. She had promised them over and over this summer she would come see them and has cancelled every time. They just cried most of the day and were angry. I could care less what you do to me, but you make my girls cry, and it hits a different nerve. It's not the worst thing in the world. I wish I could vote the MIL off of the island.

Been a few weeks since I've been in, I need to get motivated and postpone working on stuff until I hit the web pages!

David, Sorry to hear about the whole MIL thing. It's a huge PITA trying to keep family happy, but when you have to deal with things like this as well it make it more fun. 8( Might I suggest you post on Fbook and ask her if the fleas were able to enjoy the beach as well?

Aurgh, that sucks, sorry about the irritation, unfortunately you can't choose family. Might be time to find out exactly why cancellations keep occuring and get this resolved.

With all the Dad's down in WDW, I find the lack of meet ups with Briana and Stewart Disturbing!

I shall rectify that situation in approximately 2 weeks. We have Epcot plans on the 22nd and MK plans on the 24th.

Sadly didn't make it onto Dragster... line ups for the mediocre rides were around 2 hours, Dragster had to be 3 or more.
Just another reason to return... and I know where to get dome dinner with a cheap bottle of sparkling grape juice.

Two hour lines?!? I may have needed the wine to keep my nerves intact.

Hey have any of you ever rented a boat at the World? I'm thinking of taking the fam for a quick cruise when we are there.

We usually rent a pontoon boat for an hour or two (POR marina). Cruising up and down the river is a lot of fun. Of course they govern down the power so you can only go about 10 MPH. I let the kids drive the boat (they are experienced as we have a boat and they drive all the time). It's a good way to relax. Once we docked at DTD for lunch a Earl's. The rental is by time so we didn't stay all that long.

Did the guided fishing thing which was really cool as we went behind the scenes on different water ways and cought several fish.

We did this as well a couple of years ago. Had a blast seeing the little rivers and caught tons of fish. The biggest was right at the dock and was about 6lb. Expensive, but worth it for a few hours.

Think the pilot will go for that scene in the Dark Knight? I'll harness up and float a balloon beacon up in the air.

Either that or they'll scramble the Air Force fighters to shoot you down.

Howdy fellow dads, hope all is well, been keeping myself busy, since having to cancel my oct Disneyland trip, I am now focusing on an Oct 2014 split WDW and US trip with dual Halloween parties and hopefully the Harry potter expansion will be done by then, been keeping up with the DisDad Facebook post so even if I'm not on the board I'm still keeping simi informed lol. Hope everyone's doing great. Norm, since the trip is cancelled i am looking to get out of tennessee for a weekend soon, anything goin on in y'all's neck of the woods?

Morning Philip. Good to see you still lurking. We have never done the US Halloween as the kids were a little uneasy about the adult scary stuff. Maybe in the next few years. Have fun planning.

Sorry for the stress MIL is creating. Unfortunately they come as part of the marriage option package. Good luck and taking the girls out for ice cream may help. I won't even get started on my MIL.

Exactly!! Still get to avoid the bill, watch a few shows, etc.. I lived a long time without the DVR and I can probably do it again. I liked the food network a lot, but I'll survive. And NFL network usually doesn't get very good games anyway. I can order one from Best Buy for $12.
