Good Morning Scott.:wave2:

Good Morning Darcy.

And to all the other Dads as well. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday. I get to take tomorrow off, FIL is having his hip replaced and the wife is driving her parents into the hospital and staying with MIL. The good part is DD has a Christmas chorus show that I will be able to go to. You know. Deck the halls and all. :thumbsup2

Morning Jim, hope your day off is restful and relaxing. Enjoy the show!

BLT must be close, they're not running my discounts on it anymore. Would be interesting to see what happens if GF stays on the market as long as BLT and AK have, could see them delay construction on the next resort.
I think GF will be slow to sell out. The main target market seems to be young families and GF doesn't seem to jive with that.
Hey I got my first infraction. Minor but I will take it.
:rotfl2:
Congratulations.

Did you hear the DVC rumor about trying to restrict resale DVC contracts to only the home resorts?

You have had too much time to think this out. But, if you option a screen play, send me a royalty. Think DiCaprio will play me?
Hadn't heard that fortunately i'm closing on our resale SSR points this week.

DiCaprio can be an iffy choice. You might be hoping for Catch me if You can DiCarpio and wind up with Gilbert Grape DiCaprio

Finally the other night I got my 1st Bigfoot story, we went to a friends backyard fire and his cousin from Vermont was there, so I started talking to him and asked him if he lived in a city or a rural section, he said rural, so I eased into asking his thoughts on Bigfoot, he said he never seen one but he thinks they are real:confused3, he told a few stories that he heard from people who live by him, including his one uncle who says he saw one once while he was in a tree stand while hunting deer:rolleyes1, he also said near him it is not uncommon before going into the woods to do a tree knock, if you hear anything that sounds like a response people will not go into the woods:confused3, my friends wife and my wife were talking to each other further away and she said to my wife, how does he do it, he can aways get someone to spill info they would normally ever talk about:rotfl2:
So do you believe him?

7)The "kicker" the thing that bothered me the most, is I had my store key taken from me, so that the midnight shift could use it. He didn't take it from the people below me, and it didn't settle well with me. Not sure I should read more into it or not. For some reason it's really bothering me though.
Sorry about the beverly day. Can you talk with the person that took the key? It may just be an oversight on their part and it's probably worth bringing it up, especially if its' gonna bother you.

I saw that rumor too, of course I hope that doesn't happen or atleast I hope I close on mine before the "grandfather" time frame ends, SSR looks like a great resort so also wouldn't kill me, but would love for this rumor not to come true , seems like a touchy subject with a lot of direct owners
I hope you get grandfathered in.

Morning Gents!

I is a nice Tuesday morning here, high 20s for all you southern folk but still no snow. My pet polar bear is getting a little worried. :lmao:
Is that Celsius of Fahrenheit?

My strategy in getting contracts was to get multiple, smaller contracts so that I could have more than 1 home resort. I did buy at the resorts where I want to stay, but I also liked the flexibility of other options, like with this potential mega cruise trip in the fall. I am thinking about selling one of the smallest contracts now and just keep two of them.
I was planning on buying multiple smaller resale contracts too. Wanted to have 60-100 point contracts at a couple resorts. This screws our plans too.

Morning guys. Still trying to learn everything here at the new gig... Pretty frustrating!
If it was easy they wouldn't be paying you the big bucks.

Good morning gentlemen. I was up playing Civ V a little too late last night. :coffee:

Hope you guys having work issues have smooth sailing the rest of the week. I'd love to be jealous at CJ but the golf courses are still open. I'm trying to get out this weekend and break my personal record. DW isn't quite as receptive to the idea.

Gymnastics went well last night. DD had a blast. Only issue was she liked bouncing on the trampoline when the teacher was talking. DS got bored about half way through. I've got a feeling he won't be doing a second session.

Wife wasn't responsive to my golf habit either until I started taking the kids with me. It makes the round last a LOT longer, but we all have fun. She gets some time off and I get two kids to find my ball in the woods all afternoon.:thumbsup2 DS is getting pretty good, may need to stop betting him soon.

Good luck with Gymnastics. Neither of my kids liked it much. DS went once or twice and decided it was for girls, even if the men do it in the olympics.:lmao:

Next year I'll probably be taking the boy. A lot of courses have a Sunday afternoon special; kids play free with paying adult after 3pm. I'm going to make DS finish the session even if he is bored. Maybe he'll learn to like it. If not, there's always karate.

Good morning gents,

I was going to post this question on the park strategies, etc. thread - but thought I would get a better (and much more enjoyable popcorn::) response here.

Trip is about 60 days away. We are doing a 4 night cruise followed by 4 nights (5 days) in the parks. Since I am a westcoaster, I have a much better idea of how to plan out a trip to the DLR, but since I am an infrequent visitor to WDW, it is a little tougher. I have used easyWDW, with seems like a pretty detailed, good website in planning out my days - but wanted to run past our park itinerary with you (not in detail... just which days at which park). We will be there in early Feb, so I know that's one of the better times to go crowds-wise - although we will be in the parks over the weekend.

We'll be in a fairly large group (30+), all with 5-day base tickets, staying at POP. We are on the QSDP, so no ADR's... so we aren't locked into parks that way... but with base tickets - obviously no hopping. Here's what we have:

Thursday (disembark from ship in the a.m.) Epcot
Friday - AK
Saturday - MK
Sunday - DHS
Monday - MK (plane departs around 6pm)

I originally had AK and MK swapped (Fri and Sat) - because MK was "highly recommended" on Friday - but MSEP is not running on Friday night, and our group (DW's siblings and extended family) are huge fans... so they are willing to sacrifice a more crowded day in order to see it. Mixed feelings about it... but hoping that an extra day (Mon) will help out if Sat is a madhouse. We are planning on being at every park at rope drop and staying till close. Not really utilizing EMH - kind of scared off by the fact we can't hop if the park gets crowded during the heart of the day. All of the parks/days chosen are "recommended" on easyWDW except for MK. I realize its a tight schedule, with not alot of down time... but we typically go open to close when we are at the DLR and the kids handle it really well.

Dads, thanks for any advice you can provide! :teacher:

Everything looks good to me, hitting up all the parks and MK twice seems smart in case of crowds and such, since you were looking for humorous responses ,where do cows eat their popcorn......... The moooooooovies!!!! That one came from my 4 year old DD so be nice guys :)

I know who to ask for advice when planning my DL trip in Oct

Seems like a good plan. I would head to Enchated Tales with Belle first thing on your MK mornings and then head off and do other things. We had 27 at our family reunion at WDW and we had a hard time keeping everyone together. Is this your first time travelling with a group this large? You might find you need to stake out parade spots pretty early.

My golf outings got cut way back once we had kids as well. My sons have started to show interest so I'm hoping that taking them out on the course will pay off in the same way. :thumbsup2

I think avoiding EMH parks is a good idea if you don't have park hopper tickets. Only other thing I'd say is that Epcot is the largest park in terms of walking area, and it looks like you have the least amount of time scheduled for that. You can probably cover most of the things you'd want to see in AK in a little over half a day, so I'd think about switching the days for those 2 parks. Just an idea.

Thanks Ryan - yes... I've been thinking about hitting Belle first on that Sat morning... do you know if it will have FP? If so, we may do FP and hit Peter Pan, Mermaid, Gaston's, Dumbo and come back to it later in the morning.

We typically go to the DLR in a larger group... but its usually one or two of the sibling's and their families. This will be larger than we've ever dealt with - but there are a few teenagers and tweens, so I'm thinking there may be some splinter groups that form as the day goes on. We'll definitely be staking out areas for parades, fireworks early. Do you guys find that the area along Rivers of America is better for parades crowds and space-wise than Main Street?

Karate would work and tire him out too!:thumbsup2

We have an 18 hole par 3 course 10 minutes away where he plays free with me after 4. We also belong to a Country Club where there is a 7 hole short practice course that I take both kids to. We play free at part of the membership and they get to really work on the game. We use the range balls so no worries when things don't go well.:rolleyes1

I think in the spring he'll be strong enough to play the regular courses.

We'll definitely consider that. The one challenge is that AK closes so much earlier, and I'm not sure when we'll be officially off the ship, checked into POP and headed to the park. I've heard we could be in the parks as early as 9 or 10, and as late as mid-day - the reports are all over the place. With Epcot open later, it gives us a little more time to enjoy that park.. although I realize its the biggest park, and we really will only be scratching the surface. With the number of little kids in the group, Epcot was a lower priority to many of the parents... although if I was going with my family our itinerary would be different as I would really love to spend more time there.

The appeal of AK at rope drop is a factor as well (getting on safari's early... FP's to EE, etc.)

Thanks though... we'll def think about it :thumbsup2

Good luck. Spending time with the younglings, playing golf on a nice day and no "to do" list. :thumbsup2 It doesn't get a whole lot better, unless your doing it where the sand traps are in the shape of Mickey heads.:rolleyes1

I agree with maybe doing switching EPCOT and AK unless Friday night is the EPCOT EMH (which I suspect it may be). Otherwise, looks good to me. Good luck coordinating 30. The largest we had was 17 and took a looooooonnnngggg time to make some decisions.
