The Pirate Princess arrived safely. Took about 30 minutes driving around the airport trying to find her. She exited the airport at the arrival level instead of baggage claim area where I was waiting for her. I have a bright child.
Ummm... Because....

Oh Nevermind!
I have zero hope of catching him. Although I do have a four day weekend coming up

Don't eat it!!!!!

Also on the resale market the price it's listed at is just a starting point. I offered $5 less a point than what they were asking and the offer was accepted. No I just need to get through ROFR.
.
80% of my company resides in US... so while I will be working, it's kinda like showing up to the office, getting paid, and doing next to nothing...
And before you jump in - NO, that is NOT a typical day for me.

Post Sandy life back to normal for us. One week and counting until we leave. SSR, here we come.
Thanks, Rob, for keeping up the totals! Keep dropping in the totals (18 posts for me last thread?! Pathetic....) But at least I'm ahead of my nemesis, Steve!
While that is true... I try not to abuse my given talents, and prefer to live as a mere mortal....
I don't want any more drama... I still have nightmares about that!
Another brilliant maneuver on the part of the Tooth Fairy.
Is that the thread that shall not be named?![]()
It is the DisDad's Evil Incorporated thread XIII.0 in Rob's stat spreadsheet. If only we'd known how appropriate that thread name was at the time...![]()
We need to somehow commemorate that!
Oh trust me, you can find some trouble there my friend. Not that I would know anything about that mind you. But I hear things. And no, I haven't been able to find trouble yet. I've been in the TR forum.
Been there and done that my friend. Couldn't take it anymore one day so I took the dog to play in the park. And by "park" I mean I dropped her off at PetSmart to get her claws trimmed, then went next door to Starbucks and enjoyed the mess out of some WiFi.At the in-laws. Looks like the photo blitz on FB kicked off a little early with some pies!!!

Got a call back to the final round on a job interview today which is good, but brings with it a bit of a quandry. If it all does work out, (hoping and praying it does) it will cause a one month pay gap between my current job, which pays your last check on your last day of work, and the new one which pays monthly based on the prior month's hours.
I don't know exactly what that means actually, but I guess time will tell where the chips are gonna fall.
Scott and Norm could take care of you!
We usually go with $2-3. We have been using the gold dollars instead of paper. We also used the new president silver dollars recently. It's a pretty cool touch. The kids get really excited because we don't see them often.
That definitely makes a difference. Just remember that he is not an accountant. He is a number crunching, bean counting consultant. That sounds much better when explaining who is on your lawn.![]()
Yup. We are talking about maybe buying now. We (and by we I mean my wife) don't plan to go back until 2014. Still trying to go sooner. We may take the plunge before that trip. I am the finance department in my family tree so I am always excited and depressed when we pay the bills. %.
Good morning all. Half day of work and then our company pitch in dinner starts at noon. We have a pretty diverse group so we will have dishes from Croatia, China, Thailand, Germany and Guatemala. We have all of the traditional stuff as well. Management is making 8 turkeys (2 fried, 2 BBQ, 2 Trad. 2 smoked) and they serve all the employees first. My stomach is eager with anticipation!
Thanks for all the tooth fairy info. Survived ninja night but I'm tired. Off to sleep now!
I payed $10 for the first tooth and $5 for each tooth after.... errr I mean the tooth fairy paid it.![]()
Maybe he is? Using the bathroom at his friends house could also mean using the bathroom on his friends house.
You got a point. Maybe even do our taxes. Paul, can I count you guys as dependents?
Yup...next Fall we want to be at the BW. Just depends on when the Food\Wine festival is b\c it'll be tough to get in at the 7 month mark and people horde up the rooms around the food and wine fetival!!!
I went to the ESPN Zone to watch the Steelers-NYG game and then had to figure out the best way back to BLT...was a bit of an excursion.

any dads have kids in Odyssey of the Mind? Before our kids start building and coming up with ideas I'd like to give them instruction on simple machines and pneumatics? Does anyone know where I could find experiments to teach them them concepts.
But, did you tell her whe to meet you? You left out that detail, or maybe you left out that detail when you talked to her. You do tend to arrive to vacation resorts on the wrong day.

Knowing about it now, I can plan for it somewhat, though that calls into question just how we approach Christmas. Second issue, which is somewhat related to the first, is that if my last day is BEFORE 12/31/2012, I will get paid cash for ALL of my accrued time off hours. (Right now, that is 58 hours..would go a LONG way to helping bridge that gap.) BUT if I wind up leaving after the 31st, I can only carry over 40 to the next year. And since they blackout time off off during the last two weeks of Dec, it is going to be tight knowing whether or not to take an extra 3 days off mid month or hold onto them in hopes of cashing in but risk losing the hours. HOPING they make a hiring decision soon and don't play it out for weeks on end.
The job is very different than what I do now. Currently I'm in a call center helpdesk supporting Public Safety users. This would be in a school district doing "Real" IT work. (Fixing PC's, user training, network troubleshooting, etc.) The thought of being back in a hands-on IT department again makes me downright giddy.
I know there is no use worrying over what I cannot control. Indeed I am reminded of my grandfather's oft invoked musing "What is to be will be, even if it never happens."
I don't know exactly what that means actually, but I guess time will tell where the chips are gonna fall.
Smart a$$. She knows where to get picked up and must have had a brain freeze from living in the Northeast.

Prob what I will do if I don't hear anything by the first week of Dec.Split the difference. Burn 18 hours in early December. Then cash your maxxed out 40 hours if you get the new job.
Good luck...
Thanks!Good luck. I hope things work out for you.
