good luck eastcoasters!!! if you look at the path of the storm, its going over our heads, again. we are expecting 40-60 sustained winds and 8-10 plus inches of rain. i liftef the rug and everything up in the basement. got the pump and generator ready. tammys mom and dad left for florida today so i have there house to watch also. hopefully one of us will have power. if not, i will try to keep in touch through the cell phone. so, we will be praying for everyone and will talk to you when its over!!! good luck and stay safe!!! :thumbsup2

Stay safe Dave. We're going to get less rain up here, but looking like the winds will be pretty bad. Stocked up on batteries, etc. yesterday, now it's the waiting game.

Feel bad for DD, last year they didn't do trick or treating on halloween up here because of the freak snowstorm, now there's a chance that it will get postponed/canceled this year again if we have major power outages. I'm hoping it's not that bad and we're back to normal on Wednesday... Loaded up on candy in preparation!

Ok well I have some not so good news...

On Thursday of last week I got rear ended on I4 near US 17-92. It was bad to where I have been in the hospital since that day. After several x-rays and tests, I find that my L1-L6 on pinched and may have to under go quite long rehab and perhaps surgery. I am home now and bound to bed and light movement. Here is some off topic images, sorry no not looking for sympathy but to just, I guess, explain where I have been.

Sorry to hear, that's awful. Hope the recovery is quick.

Morning Gents.

I hope everyone stays safe for the next few days. The storm is supposed to veer inland before it hits our east coast so I guess we will get nothing but some rain.

Our soccer final is later this afternoon and then the pub for the league wrap-up. DS has skills camp before that so I should just stay at the field. Well maybe a 4 hour warm-up would be a bit much. :rotfl2:But then again it is a masters soccer league.

Wow! Get better soon. Disney needs you.

Same thoughts to everyone on the East coast. Do what you have to do to stay safe and get ready.

Seton Hall cancelled classes on Monday and Tuesday. The Pirate Princess had a midterm on Monday so she is looking on the bright side. Today is an excursion to Target and she is prepping her friends on what they need to get. Probably one flash light for all of them and a bunch of junk food. The University sent out word that they are stocking up on supplies so the kids don't starve.

Hope she makes it through without issue CJ. The colleges up here normally have a pretty good plan for major storms, hopefully her dorm even has back-up generators.

Not sure about the dorm but there will be electricity at a few places on campus. Am comfortable with the school's plan. They are on lock down as of 5:00 pm today. She is taking it in stride. Unlike her fellow students, she knows the drill.

Donald, hope you get better quick... that sucks.

Thank you everyone. I really do appreciate the kind comments. Just popping on while I eat some breakfast. Can't wait to hear from the trooper investigator on Monday. It hurts me to see the car messed up also. I start rehab Weds so we shall see.

As much as it hurt's to see the car all messed up. I think we'd all agree - Better the Car than the driver!

Be thankful you weren't hurt more. In 20 years from now any car you drive now will be a distant memory, but your body will still be with you... keep that in tact.

Just popping on before church. Finally up and moving after another 13 hours in bed. Looks like I'm in pretty good shape compared to some of you so prayers for a speedy recovery or rehab to those in need.

Lots of rain and wind in the forecast but it has improved to just a chance of a dusting of snow. Higher elevations on the VA border are looking at 8-10 inches possibly.

Congratulations to Steve and Shari on the first dozen years! Sounds like a good excuse for a donut for each year.

That's some physopical stuff there but true. Thanks

Hey, disdads.

I have some questions about smart phones. My sister-in-law has the ability to get me a Samsung Galaxy GS3 for cheap. I'm then just on the hook for the bill.

we do not have smart phones yet. So the question is: To data or not to data.

i would use it, but, why? I keep thinking: I'm on the computer at home, and at work, and those are the only 2 places i ever am. So, why get a machine to be connected to the internet?

If anyone has made the "smartphone leap" in the past 6 months, what was the reason why, and do you regret it?

(and, how are the WDW apps, for those that have used them?)

At very least you need the lowest data plan available.

My dw has the galaxy s3 and loves it. It does have wifi, so when at home or any other spot with wifi, you shouldn't have any problems.

The MY DISNEY EXPERIENCE app is available for the android, she has used it. But not in WDW. I have used the same app for iPhone and found it quite up to date and reliable.

I use mine for my calendar, and ability to keep up with all my kids activities. DW and I use a little over 1 GB combined.
