Just checking in to see what’s up.

A wonderful night at the bourbon bar at the miller house restaurant in Owensboro.

I was able to try three new KY bourbons tonite - Buffalo Trace, Makers Mark 46, and Basil Hayden. Of those three, Makers 46 was the best. We had a wonderful dinner. We had a cheese plate appetizer, and house salads and split a Pinot noir. DW had a filet and risotto for dinner while I had shrimp and grits. I had a amber bock with dinner (no draft beer). We had a Kahlua chocolate cake For dessert. After a 4 block walk to downtown and some time to sober up, it was time to walk back and drive home.

Alcohol induced anniversaries are the best.

Glad you enjoyed the anniversary outing.
Sound like time well spent.

phone met the floor today... and now my screen is cracked. the screen still works, and touch still functions... it just has a spiderweb on the left third of it from top to bottom.

I don't think sticking it in rice will help. My "new every two" deal is not for another year... then again, I was saying a while back that if something happened to this phone, that I would go back to a dumb phone to save money.

I still carry a dumb phone.
Actually I only even carry a phone because DW has ordered me to do so.
It spends most of the time on a desk in the other room, or even turned off.
(makes me just a bit harder to track).

Psst. It wasn't really in Maine, just wanted them to think that.

I'm spending time with my brother today working in his shop, for those who have heard of magic the gathering , he sells cards and holds tournament, I personally don't know much about it but anything to help him out, mainly we are watching black hawk down, so it's been pretty uneventful so far, next movie I hope is star wars or POTC

What kind of shop does your bother have? I wouldn't you could make enough income on Magic the Gathering.

Well he does still have a day job, but running this shop is something he loves so he pretty much works normal 9 to 5 then comes to the shop and works till like midnight, don't think he has turned a profit yet aside from new inventory and utilities but he hasn't lost money so I guess that's good

So, all he sells is MTG? Just curious, I sold them when I had my Comic Book Shop and they didn't bring in enough to pay the phone bill, let alone the rent.

We did a rough estimate last year and it totally worked out for us saving a ton of cash. We are really hoping to land free dining for next year.

Granted, as DW pointed out, if it wern't for the free dining, we wouldn't be eating in a lot of those places etc. Best QS we wroked out was Yak and Yeti, I think believe it would hae worked out to $50 if we had paid for lunch there.

Hey there guys...I've been away for about 3 or 4 days if you haven't noticed.....

Spent the last couple of days in Canton for my cousins wedding. Very nice ceremony at a vineyard. Good food and even better wine!

Just getting home and now it's time to catch up on laundry and the housework that didn't seem to do itself while we were gone!
