Started going through the pages this morning, turned away and then forgot I was doig this before we left this morning....:rotfl2:

Brent...how are things today with your wife and kids? Are they feeling pretty sore today???

Jo's feeling it more then the kids, between stress and some bumps and bruises. Audrey had some marks/bruising from the seatbelt, that's it. Nothing else. I'm feeling pretty stressed too.

Hello again guys.

Posting from my hospital bed. I got admitted last night since my fever came back after being gone for 4 days so the Dr.s want to run the gamut on me to see if they can figure out what's going on.

I've got an Infectious Disease specialist, Pulminologist (for my pneumonia) as well as the regular attendings who are great. Everyone is baffled and I'm bored. Still getting antibiotics via IV as well as orally. Fever is mostly gone (99 range) but just waiting on tomorrow to see what's next.

Hate the waiting game, but glad everyone is trying hard to figure it out. Fortunately we live only a couple of blocks away so DW and DDs were able to come visit a couple of times today (without getting too bored here).

Watching the Olympics closing ceremonies for lack of other options right now.
Wow. hope you feel better soon...just get well!

Just got a call from FIL... DW's aunt just passed away... :(

Sorry to hear. Prayers to your DW and family.

Scary stuff. I’m glad that all are ok.
It’s bad enough when I’ve been in a vehicular altercation,
I can’t imagine how it would weigh on my mind if it were the rest of my family.

It's funny. Jo's been in 3 accidents in our 15 years together, I've never been with her when it's happened.

Happy to hear that no one was physically hurt and everyone is OK! Good luck with the adjuster.

We were at Marine Land a couple of weeks ago. First time to Canada with the younglings, DD9 & DS12. They had a great time. We spent 3 nights by the Falls and took a day to head over and see the park.

Jo talked to adjuster today, going to be a few more days, but they are thinking write-off, since air bags were deployed. He thinks that the loan will be paid off or pretty close to it, which isn't too bad a senerio.

We went ahead today and went to Marineland, the orginal plan to get our minds off things. Kids wore us ragged. Marineland is okay, but kinda $$$ for what you get and in bad need of a facelift. Some of it looks like it's still out of the 70's/ :sad2::rotfl2: Love spending time at the falls, lots to do, and only an hour away!:thumbsup2

I think she knows way too much. I'm building a bunker in the backyard to lock her away.

Yep!

Today got the 4yr old an inflatible whale toy she loved it, walking through the parkm she proudly (and loudly) "I'm going to put him between my legs and ride him!"

Me: " grrroooaaaannnnn"

:scared1::lmao:

So, I'm flipping thru channels and there is a sitcom with a girl delivering a baby. So, it is actor, shot from waste up, in perfect make-up saying silly things. I ask my dd (8) if she is going to have her husband in the delivery room. She tells me that she doesn't want her baby to come out of "there" and points between her legs and says she wants it to come out of her belly like mom. DW had c-section with both kids.

Jealous! We're about 6 weeks out. Stay healthy this week, and have an awesome trip. :thumbsup2

They had a great time? In Canada? Are you sure about that? No one has a great time in Canada.

:lmao:

Paul - as I will be in DL in 6 weeks, if we both end up on the POTC at the same time, does that result in a dad paradox the likes of which we've never seen?

As long we don't get transported to Canada, everyhthing should be okay. Right?

Never pegged for a Cars fan.

Oh nemie, here we were being all nice and you had to do that. Barry- throw something at him.

Wanted to belatedly thank everyone for the birthday wishes last week. My gifts consisted of a book of stories (in Korean) to read prenatally to the boys (we just found out last week Monday that the twins are both boys), a couple outfits for them, and Saints Row: the Third (which, unfortunately, doesn't work with my American 360....it's strange, some games over here work, some don't). I've been told to expect a package from Turkey Lurkey near the end of the month, but not to hold my breathe (car problems, plus their new little one makes for some financial difficulties). We also had friends visit for most of my three-day weekend, making an enjoyable end to my first three decades. :thumbsup2

I'll help you dig it if I can put my two in there :thumbsup2

Morning. :surfweb:

Had a little drama last night. Put Toy Story 3 on for the kids. They had supposedly watched it last weekend at my parents. DD cried almost the whole movie. We didn't even finish the scene at the dumpster. I checked with my mom and found out they fell asleep right at the beginning of the movie. :headache:

Oh nemie, here we were being all nice and you had to do that. Barry- throw something at him.

You threw a Scott Baker fast ball right down the heart of the plate and I'm not supposed to swing? :duck:

Have a good morning

Excellent. I've been watching the monkeys at the zoo throwing poo and have been taking notes and getting some good pointers.

Got any names picked out? Are you thinking more Korean names, American names, or one of each?

Evening guys!
Anybody else watching the series finale of the Closer tonight? Great so far

Hell's Kitchen. One day I'll try a scallops app and beef Wellington at a Chef Ramsey restaurant.

.

I think a smart person on this thread recommended having the insurance company replace it with a car as opposed to money. I'll defer to the insurance experts.

I love it when a plan comes together.

But, that plan may be on hold. The van didn't start this AM. The lights and everything was strong, so probably not a battery but maybe a starter or alternator. DW will call AAA and have it towed to mechanic. :worried:

Mornin' Guys

Rainin' like a son of a gun here.....nice soaking rain....wish you were gettin' some of this too Andy!

Got my money's worth out at the golf course last night. So glad we only have two more weeks left in league.....I'm definitely ready to hang up the clubs for the year.

That is, unless the boss asks me to play in a scramble that happens to allow me to get out of work for the day! :thumbsup2

Looks like I missed quite a bit yesterday!

Picking 9th. Stinks.

You know what's worse? Picking 10th. :headache:

Happy Monday.

Well, after staying home with the kids on Friday because Evan was throwing up all night Thursday, I caught it on Friday evening. I'll spare you the details, but it was not pretty out of either end.

That's quite enough details, thank you. Hope you're all recovered for the trip!

The Dolphins are doomed now. They cut Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson from the team after being jailed for head butting his wife. Thanks ocho, we hardly knew you. Don't let the door hit you on the behind as you leave. At least we don't owe you anything.

I'm sure the Eagles have some castoff receivers they can lend you. Todd Pinkston, maybe?

Thanks guys...

So far DW is doing ok.

We don't know funeral details yet, we are really hoping it is before we leave on Saturday. It would really be tough on her to miss being there with the rest of the family during this loss.

Sorry for your family's loss, Brian.

Even though you're my nemesis, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Hope you're back on your feet soon.

Evening guys!

Just got back from a looooonnnnngggg drive from the Outer Banks. A great trip! Got their on Saturday and didn't put on shoes until Tuesday. Hung with old friends, reconnected with their rapidly growing children, played lots of games, swam, boogie boarded, and realized that I have a lot of training to do before the DDC. Also got to fit in a great visit with the Oblivious Family.

It was great to see you guys! Hope your kids weren't too bored.

BAck home from Hilton Head...leaft at 1045 after a relaxing breakfast and got hme around 9 this evening...considering we drove through heavy rain most of the way...got caught in traffic from three accidents, the usual traffic at the junction of I-77 and I-81 in Virginia, and multiple potty breaks for Lauren Id say we made decent time. Look forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight!!!:thumbsup2

Welcome back to the real world Steve!

2012-08-11_20-24-48_934.jpg

At this point, I hope you guys survive and can rebound next year. Sorry it's been a rough year.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts. I am very glad that everyone is okay, that it appears that there are no injuries. I freaked on the bus, when letting DW know I was on the way, that Audrey was in the ambulence:scared1: They checked her over, and I'm going to do the three-hour check through the night to precaution for concussions, since the side air-bag deployed and knocked into her. She hasn't had any pain, but there was a little brusing on her shoulder where the belt was.
As for the car, gotta wait till Monday afternoon or so to find out it's fate, when an adjuster etc can have a go at it. DDW got the rental, a dodge Nitro, meh....we might still go with the Marineland plan Monday, we'll see how we feel tomorrow night.
Jo and I just gotta get outta the little funk we're in now. We had finally started turning a corner in a lot of things, includung $$ and might have been set back kinda bites. We really do want a house someday. Other then that things are fine.

Wow, I'm glad everyone is ok!

As long we don't get transported to Canada, everyhthing should be okay. Right?

It could have serious repercussions, depending on the space time continuum and how many gigawatts the ride produces (1.21 would be very bad)... :scared1:

But yes, as long as we don't end up in Canada, ever, all is fine. :thumbsup2

I'll help too.

I'm on my way with the shovel. Fourth grade coming up and already hearing the boyfriend word. Luckily it is friends and not my daughter. I already told her boyfriends are not allowed until she is 26. :rotfl2::thumbsup2

Morning, all!

Quick story to spark discussion. So I was vacationing last week with some of my oldest friends. Folks from college that I've literally known for 25 years and their kids (DW and I went to college together and although we had overlapping friends, never dated until years after college, she was a year ahead of me in school).

My wife spent some time talking to one of my buddies wife who confided that they haven't slept in the same bed in years. He falls asleep on the couch working and stays there all night. (Being a guy, I would have never had this detailed a discussion with the husband...) I was horrified at this and couldn't imagine not having a husband and wife sleep in the same bed, but DW thinks that this probably happens in a lot of marraiges (husband snoring, people wanting their space, etc) and does not mean that their marraige in danger.

What do you guys think? How often does this happen? And can sleeping separately be a normal and acceptable part of a good/healthy marraige?
