I have not yet. It's been Marvel day. And you heard about the phineas/marvel crossover?

Yes! :cool1:

Sorry Guys I haven't been much, but someone had to drop by the Apple Store today...

Got my MacBook Pro 15" Anti-Glare HighRes Intel i7 2.5 Ghz 16GB Ram, 750GB Flash I wont be disappointed is that the Rep said. I sure as H3LL hope not for that much I am not let down. Also because we lied and said it was for my kid we got a gift card for 100$ in the MAC app Store.

Excellent! It's not really a lie. I'm sure you're kid will use it. Personally, I can't get access to my mac (or iPad) until after the kids are asleep...

Hey fellas!

After 2 wonderful weeks of vacation including some time in our favorite place, I'm suffering through the inevitable morning after at work. :headache:

I have no idea what you've talked about in the last 100 pages or so, but that sure is an impressive volume of material. :thumbsup2

Managed 2 DIS Dad meet-ups on the trip:

Great pics!

Missed that one earlier. That's a kick below the waist waiting for you back at work.

I appreciate her concern. I do still have income, but to put the crop out required a signicant output. Add to that the fact that we're paying our part on some hospital bills, buying twice as many diapers, and DW has gone from full time to part time, it is still going to require some significant belt tightening over the next year. But at least we shouldn't lose the farm.

This was our number 1 driest June on the books. Not sure about July. I really quit paying attention to the weather part of the news. It was too depressing and too much BS for me. :lmao::rotfl2:

Now we're in the stage of worrying about some moron deciding that the roadside makes a better recepticle for their burning cigarette butt than their ash tray. :headache:

I was tempted, but I can't say that I'm surprised that Barry ran with it first. :lmao:

Hang in there, Andy. You plight is remembered! We were lamenting your troubles at our Dis Dads dinner in Chicago the other night. Praying that you make it through and that next year is better!

Good afternoon guys. George checking in on this hot Monday in the deep south.

Hey, deep south guy, can you please take Linda McMahon back? Although our TV stations are pretty happy with the >$50 million she's spent on ads over the last 2 years running for (and losing) various elected offices in CT, she's starting to get kind of annoying. What's the reverse of a carpetbagger?

Yeah but she understands its daddys toy. So no playing on it right now.

:thumbsup2

We so need a drool emoticon for pics like this.

How about this one…

Drool_20.gif

Or this one.

Most of the Sconies I have experience with are from Western Wisconsin. Like you said they are a different inbreed.
If you're ever down in South East Wisconsin, I'll treat you to our brand of sophisticated, high brow ways to entertain ourselves and our guests. I've got a new "pull my finger" trick I've been working on. :thumbsup2

I figured someone would be having fun with the local mascot.
I also figured that it would probably be you.

You’re welcome.
You know me all to well.

What's going on George? I may have skimmed over your entry earlier, but Welcome to the Club!

I'll be there August 4th

Sorry to hear that as well. :headache:
Sound’s like you’d have been better off just staying in Florida.

We tried as hard as we could to stay in Florida. The nice folks at AKL wouldn't let us stay for free. I even tried to hire the kids out for labor.

Missed that one earlier. That's a kick below the waist waiting for you back at work.

Yeah, I hit the trifecta today: Monday, end of vacation, got passed over. :headache:

Then you probably missed the part where Brian (middlepat) told him he had to change his name because we had too many Chrises.:lmao::rotfl2:

There can never be too many Chris/Christian/Christophers... just sayin'. :cool2:

Now there CAN be too many Andys, Nathans, Brians, Norms, ... you get the point.

Just wanted to clear that up.

I tried to get to stay in GV at BLT. No luck there either. Conspiracy.

How did I get attacked in this? I was going to say good to hear from you, but forget it.

Reading back through the past few pages, I just want to say I appreciate the kind words and concern from everyone. It is a trying year for farmers, and sometimes when you see people on the news, you really wonder if the public actually understands what is going on because the ones reporting the news really don't seem to have a clue. I should know by now to expect better than the general public from this group though.

As of right now, corn is sitting at a record high price. There are people out there that will say farmers are getting rich at the expense of consumers. I can assure you that isn't the case. Seed this year was higher than ever, as was fertilizer and rent prices for farm land are borderline obscene. Even with record high corn prices, guys around here are talking about how they're looking to grow different crops or go without fertilizer next year just to stay afloat. I think we can count on the fact that the staples of many Disdads diets (beef and bacon) are going to get expensive in the coming year. Trust me, those farmers who raise the cattle and pigs aren't going to be getting rich either.

As a friend of mine who raises hogs said the other day said, he might as well just stand next to the truck and toss a $20 bill on each one as they load them up.

The hard part is that I seem to be stuck with the same problems both on the farm and here at work. My other job is at a grain elevator, and our profit is driven by how many bushels we can put through our facility each year. Last year we were down a couple million bushels below normal due to the dry weather, and the drought last year pales in comparison to this one. I don't feel like my job is in jeopardy, but as a company, we cant stand too many years of this in a row before something is going to have to give.

Anyway, sorry for the lengthy post, but I just wanted to say that I do appreciate the words of support and kindness from all of you. I stress about my crops at home and I stress about everyone else's while I'm sitting at work, so it is always great to be able to pop in here for a nice diversion.

Thanks.

Hate to hear it man. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with the retail/ customer world anymore. I just have a government bureacracy. :scared1:

Aye, there's the rub, we are also a government agency....It's the best of both worlds. :headache:

Ouch. Too bad about the rough day but at least here are only four days left in the week. Hope it improves.
