This afternoon I had to make a quick run to the grocery store. DD was in hell raiser mode. She threw a fit that she had to ride in the kid shopping cart and couldn't take a kiddie sized cart. She Then got out of the cart any time I stopped whinning she wanted the kiddie cart. A five minute run turned into a 20 minute nightmare. When we got to the bakery I only let DS, who had been on excellent behavior, have a free cookie. I got "The Look" from not only the woman in the bakery but every woman I passed going from the bakery to check out. I'm sorry that you to listen to a three year old crying for ten seconds. But I'm not rewarding her horrid behavior or punishing the child who was behaving by not letting him have a cookie. If you got an issue with that then you know what you can do with yourself.

I see it everyday, but I somehow become the bad guy, a lot of parents use me as the pawn saying if you are not good that guy is going to kick us out, or if your not good that guy will not let you get ice cream

I made a nice little score on the way home today, I got a text from the liquor store saying the 7th person to show this text wins, well I was already in route and about 5miles away so I stopped and showed the text, I was #7 won a Margaritaville market umbrella and stand, I'll go a mile out of the way everyday for stuff like this:woohoo

Now if I could get some of the luck to rub off on saturdays tickets for the power ball, at least 10 of us will be set

OK, I am boycotting all Proctor and Gamble products. Why you ask? Their commercials during the Olympics thanking moms for all the success every child in the world has ever achieved. What about dads? Are we just chopped liver?

Granted, they go through that whole birthing thing but they have the option for drugs. What do we get? Nothing. They get to hang around the hospital while we have to go to work.

Yea sure moms are important but what about us?

I hope so, I have noticed a trend in the 3 rounds, every time it is my turn the Jackpot is way up there, if we don't win Sat, I think I'll come up with something where we can pick #'s and put them together as tickets but no one picks the whole ticket it will be random #'s from all the guys in the pool lumped together, it seems complicated but I've had luck with this in the pick 5, I've hit 4 #'s 3 times in the last 2 years, so there might be something to it

Finally Friday.

Strawberry plants got held up in CANADA so I am behind at least a week on that project. Almost another inch of rain yesterday so I can't get in the fields. My research assistant is off and we didn't get everything on the fire marshal's report addressed. SWMBO and Jr. SWMBO are returning on Monday.

Rough end to the week and the summer.

they are trying to get it launched in Canada, and the LCBO bought 250 or so cases (we have some in-store already, therefore we got to sample...) Not too bad, not something to drink straight up, but creative mixing....

Lots..we discussed cooking with it, using it in caesars (or bloody mary's for the US crowds), even tried it in a bacon-chocolate martini.

It's more a smokey-peppery savoury taste then pure bacon. We were given a list of recipies, that I think their website has too... www.bakonvodka.com

So, when I used to work in the grocery store (deli/bakery), there were lots of goods that came up "damaged" that we couldn't sell. We would have to sample them to make sure the rst of the product was safe for consumers. Ever get free samples?

Mornin Dads

Ridiculously busy week. That'll teach me to go on vacation! Unfortunately, the next five weeks don't promise to be better.

I've missed a bunch of pages but hope that everyone is well and there hasn't been any life changing events that I've missed (and if I have missed them that they are for the good).

Just from what I can tell in a few pages back it looks like there are dads, and at least one daughter, still prepping to run around Disney in January. Bacon still comes in other variations. Post padding continues. So, not much has changed.
