You have gotten my attention because I just realiized next year will be 13 years for us as well!:scared: I might have to steal your dozen theme for this year!!! how did 2012 sneak up on me like this???

2000 must have been a popular year for weddings amongst DisDads....:rotfl2:

Nope. Trying that this coming January.

We have a winner! The plan is currently in pre-infancy stage, which is to say Bambi and I just started talking about it this past weekend. We'd to go back during the first part of August, 2013. On on the 5th - our 13th wedding anniversary, we'd plunge 13 stories, 13 times. I have no idea if this is even possible. I would think it might be if we hit rope drop, use Fastpass when we can, and just keep getting back in line.

I think you could def. pull it off, If you hit rope drop. You'll prob have a few long waits as the day goes on though... Sounds like a fun challenge!!! :thumbsup2

Happy Anniversary. With 9 to 9, that would be 1 per hour, with an extra. If you hit that ride first with a FP and then FP it later, you would get it. Don't they also have a single rider line? And, go when the park is not at 10s.

We were married in 2000 as well, but our 12th is next month, so I still have that to celebrate first.

A 13-night stay at the Grand Floridian?

That sounds like a great plan. Which one of your children did you sell to afford it? :lmao:

Yes it does. Are you doing quick service or deluxe?

We did deluxe. Even for me, that was too much food.

Riding Tower of Terror and then eating at Cheesecake Factory?

How about having 13 slices of cheesecake? I like the Red Velvet best.

One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer!

Or, 13 of those. That sounds like a great anniversary.

We are all suckers for free dining... ;)

I prefer the 40% off room PINs. If I ever got one of those, I'd stay at GF or Poly.

I always get fooled into watching the first preseason game every year, just because I'm desperate for football. Then I turn it on and always wonder, "Why am I watching this garbage?" :rotfl2:

You only watch pre-season games for 1 quarter, max.

I used to know what that felt like...but I gave up on baseball before the All-Star break this year!

I gave up before spring training.

3 to 3.5 hour one way drive for me to watch a MLB game. You all don't know how lucky you have it.

I vote to earmark this money for Disney. Then again, I vote to earmark all my money for Disney.

Always a great plan.

When they start going off the top rope like Jimmy "Super Fly" Snuka, you have a problem. Or maybe just a great photo op.

Oh, how many references do you get to the Superfly? That's old school. I am still a Hulk Hogan fan. What you gonna to do!

We are all heading to the Dark Knight Rises in about an hour. Can't wait! :cool1:

Enjoy.

Sounds like a great meet and trip. Fantastic seats. And where were my tickets? .

I left them at Will Call. You didn't get them? I told them that if you didn't pick up the tickets for Sunday's game, then just go ahead and mail them to you.

Actually, we just booked an unplanned/unexpected trip for December over the weekend so I don't think I will have to twist very hard to make this work.:thumbsup2 (DW really is a sucker for free dining).

Good get. Have a great trip.

It happens to all of us :rotfl2:

Hey I responded to your PM. But we should chat about schedules for this weekend

Have any of my fellow dads with DVC ownership ever used points at grand Californian? I'd like to chat about if you have

Not yet. 8 to 13 more years until I get there. Take good notes.

I spent all weekend in bed, so I'm rested up and feeling a lot better right now.

Looks like it was a great weekend. I guess you're the reason the Reds lost Sunday though. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Sounds like it was your illness that did it. :lmao: Glad to hear you're feeling better.

I think you've moved beyond admiration and into some kind of creepy idolization of me. Oh, don't stop, though. Just wanted to let you know.:rotfl:
;)

I think you've mistaken idolization with pity.

Happy The doors to the church or the ballpark? Either way, rope drop is important. ;)

Ballpark. I need a lot more RDs to the church.

Last day of the staycation, been a nice long 9 days. Last bachelor day too, DW comes home tomorrow. Guess we'd better tidy up a bit. :lmao:

Awesome pics, looks like a cool place to take the kids, and you guys had a lot of fun. Baseball pics look good too.

We did more driving on this staycation, but it was a lot of fun.

Really cool, I've always wanted to go to Mammoth Cave. Haunted too to boot. :thumbsup2

Give me a call. We're about 1.5 hours away.

Hey, this place looks familiar! Glad you could meet up with David.

Wow, you had great seats!

Thanks. And, thanks for leaving the museum in one piece.

We had a great time as well. The girls were disappointed that you weren't staying in Indy longer.

Maybe another time. I'm not sure a staycation means to do a 3 state tour in 3 days, but we had fun a fun weekend. If you spend more time with us, you may realize how much more dysfunctional we are. Wait, you've already figured that out. Then, there is that whole cruise thing ....

Cool Meet Norm - that museum looks great, and those seats at the ball game were awesome.

Thanks. That's the first time I'd ever been that close to a MLB player. Granted, it was just a RP, Jason Grilli, 39, who's played for several teams (including the Marlins), but it still really cool.

My round trip to and from work, no stops or side trips, is right @ 85 miles. Is there a ford that can compete with Toyota?

The 6 cyl Aztek gets around 23 MPG. My 97 Camry has been better than 35 MPG.

The last series of pictures from staycation. This installment is from Mammoth Cave. We are about 1.5 hours away.

We stopped in the restaurant for a KY Hot Brown. Meat, cheese, bacon, tomatos over bread.

We did the Historic tour. It is a 2 hour tour at the base of the park, which is fine walking downhill but stinks walking up.

My cell phone didn't take great pictures underground, so not a lot to show you.

temporary-100.jpg

This last one was underground in the Rotunda. Those great UK hoodies on. It is 55 degrees inside the cave all year round.

But, it was a fun walk, great experience for the dds, and a physical challenge for me. They didn't have bourbon breaks along the way - the cave is in a dry county. There are several other tours, different lengths, and skill levels. There is a cheap, old musty smelling lodge there. They used to do the water boat tours 20 years ago, but those have all been moved to Bowling Green cave system, about another hour south. We may try both of those next year.

Send a PM to STOPHER1 - he practically lives at Disneyland. Introduce yourself as a DISDad, and I am confident he will have every answer you ever needed about all things Disneyland.

Also check out his Sticky at the top of our forum.

Stopher is the person to talk to. In addition to our thread, here is a VGC thread on the DVC board. I was there for a few days last month and you can also PM me.

I think first of all that it sounds like a great idea and lots of fun. Secondly, if you hit rope drop and use fp, it is definitely doable the way TOT can really run people through. Even on a busy day the line tends to stay manageable most of the time so I don't see this really taking a whole lot of work to make it happen. If you hit RD you could probably ride 3 times the first hour and have an FP in hand.
