There were days this last trip that our girls tried our patience and we were very frustrated. We decided after the week was over that it was too much for them and that we would skip a year and not go back for a full week next year.

I'm wishing we wouldn't have made that decision, but it's done. We'll be going to Daytona next year and a day trip to MK while we're there.

My kids love it, and we've only done week trips.

They are really bugging us to go back this summer (as they don't know yet we are going).

The only issue I had was with DD first trip, when she didn't want to go on most attractions, as she is not the bravest cub in the pack. We had to sit her down (at 6 years old) and tell her that her drama was enough. We wont put her on anything that she won't enjoy. We know hr limitations, and she needs to trust us. She has never been on an MK mountain. Her limit was pressed on Tedt Track. But she still has a great time, and goes with the flow. And we generally do full days open - close.

Don't forget the ever popular..."I pay your salary"...:mad: Yeah, by that logic, I pay myself, so I think I'm better serving my budgetary input by fishing today...

People with drinking problems pay my salary:drinking1

Heck, the days DW and dds try my patience are days of the week. Don't let that be a buffer to return.

Maybe I should rephrase that. We had MUCH more drama than what is usual for our girls. :thumbsup2

Well... can't really compare the MB trip to a WDW trip. I mean, I live 15 minutes from Virginia Beach, so it's not going to settle any impulses there. Will be nice to get away for a week... but given a choice I'd rather spend it in that magical place in Florida! :rotfl2:

I'm not sensing any of this "patience-testing" you speak of in your TR. Guess that's a little spoiler alert? :lmao:

Wow Don...I thought that the Myrtle Beach trip might be at least a little special. I mean, after all, you get to meet Scott2997! :rotfl2: :woohoo:

And as far as my TR (who's link is in my signature - *ahem* - any true DisDad would be reading it - *ahem*) it's early in the week. :thumbsup2

Although, I failed to mention in the TR that our first night of sleeping in WDW was quite entertaining as both girls decided to take two hour shifts on who would wake up next! :cool1:

I think, for us, this was definitely different than any other vacation we've ever done as a family. All of our vacations are usually low key, nothing planned, R&R on the beach type of vacations. This one was go go go, and then go some more and try to experience as much as possible before the rest of the hoards of people do.

This major change for us burnt us all out. I think, if we went back again, we would definitely take it at a slower pace. And I think we would be happier at a slower pace since we were able to accomplish so much this year. Remember, this was our first EVER week there, so we didn't want to miss out on all the new stuff we'd never experienced.

I also think we would enjoy ourselves a little more if we were able to go at a different time of year. The whole 9/10's on the crowd calendar wore on us all week.

Just checking in. Hoping to get back in the groove at some point.

Hope everyone is doing well. We're all doing okay. With DS's first birthday party out of the way, our attention now turns to WDW and getting the trip plans finalized, and getting everything paid for.

I think I posted a while back that we were toying with the idea of sending our car down on the auto train and using it there instead of renting one. It looks like this will be the plan, and then instead of sending the car home, we're going to drive.

So, flying down on a sunday and having my family bring the car down a couple of days later on the autotrain. Using car to get to and from cruise and keeping it with us during the second stint at WDW, then we leave on a saturday and take our time getting home sometime on monday.

Currently looking for something to do on the way home. DW suggested the National Zoo, but I don't know if that will work logistically.

My oldest 9 is that way but my youngest 7, then 6, did all mountins last trip. Sho was so mad that she was to short for RR last trip I had to distract her with a pressed penny machine.

...
Fed! Hi! :wave2: Maybe you can funnel some of that party money the government seems to have laying around to fund a DDC Get-Out-Of-The-Funk event? popcorn:: :lmao:

+1

That's nothing. It's been a year and three months for me (which, before that was 5 years since previous visit to a Disney park, Tokyo Disney, and 22 years since the last trip to WDW). My next trip isn't for another year and 9 months. Hell, that will probably also be our next trip to America...

My name is Casey, and my Disney problem's bigger than yours.

Fortunately, I don't have to worry about Disney commercials over here...

I feel your pain. It has been a long time and still a long time before I get back. I don't have to worry about commercials here either, no TV.

I've been to Cartagena, Colombia A LOT. I have a bunch of pictures from multiple trips on my FB page. I can tell you right now, I'm not surprised at anything that goes on down there. I can also tell you that if it was $47.00 for services rendered, he wasn't exactly shopping at Tiffany's.:headache::rolleyes1
i]

And just how do you know how much they cost? Hmmmm.

:scratchin Sometimes I really hate having to be the grown-up. Maybe that's why I like Disney so much.
:

When did you become a grown up? I'm not there yet.

I've never been accused of being a grown-up.:rolleyes1

Excellent. That's my plan too.

Maybe I should rephrase that. We had MUCH more drama than what is usual for our girls. :thumbsup2

I'm sure the big crowds played a factor in it. We used to do commando every day, but since we know we will return every year, we only do parks every other day.

Off to work...take care guys

Why would you do something so terrible?

Currently looking for something to do on the way home. DW suggested the National Zoo, but I don't know if that will work logistically.

I feel so at home at the zoo.

I am really in a Disney funk today. We would normally be 6 days out from our annual trip to WDW right now... but no trip this spring. We are saving up for two trips next year. :cool1: Still.... doesn't help the craving I have right now. Working on the TR lately has only made it worse (even if it IS from 2 years ago :lmao:). Thanks for letting me share. My name is Don and I have a Disney problem. :wave2:
hi don!!!!
My name is Nathan.

The last time I went to Disney was 1½ months.

It was a short trip...but fun...left me wanting more. Been looking into Lottery Stratagy, Bank Robbery, Organ Selling... :sad2:
hi nate!! what blood type are you?
I won't be able to attend the convention next year due to work obligations :headache:

I am trying to plan a trip in Sept and arrange the dates to meet up with at least one Dis Dad.

My name is David and I too have a Disney prolem
hi david!!
Is it just me, or do those darn Disney commercials get to you even more after you've just returned from a vacation there!

I can't wait until the Convention! It's too far away. Wish there was a way I could get a Disney fix before then.

I actually had a dream last night that I was looking for airfare for a solo trip to WDW....I must be thinking about the convention too much. :thumbsup2

My name is Scott and I too, have a Disney problem.
hi scott !!
Man, I'm just in an all around funk. I think we may take a short trip this summer just to get our fix in:thumbsup2
go in september!!!
Hi, my name is Mark, and I am also joining the Funky Bunch. Wait, that didn't come out right.

I am in the "I need a vacation" funk. There, that's better. Reading through a petition signed by over 500 people that my project needs to be finished now, before Memorial Day, and we need to do whatever possible to make it happen. This after receiving calls on Friday complaining about all the traffic delays due to construction. So, we need to work around the clock to finish, but also can't do any work at any time when it might be slightly inconvenient. I give up.

Always amazing to see how many "experts" there are out there willing to tell me how to do my job. If your complaint starts, "I'm not an expert, but..." do me a favor and just stop right there.

im no expert. :lmao: cant you fix the roads in the winter, between 1am and 3am and in 2 hours? it take three weeks for the shovel leaners to put the cones up here in pa!! :lmao:

We used to do commando every day, but since we know we will return every year, we only do parks every other day.

...One of the best arguments in favor of DVC.

Speaking of DVC, I was reading in Scott's trip report (yes, Scott- you read that right) that he had 5 in a studio in BLT. How does one pull that off? I thought only 4 were allowed.

Thank you GSA and Secret Service for now making life miserable for the rest of us. We had a hard time justifying operational travel *BEFORE* all this nonsense...now it's going to get really ugly.

Wish I had known this was going on when we were working with the Secret Service last week....I would've been relentless on those poor guys:lmao:

In regard to the GSA. Good god, these are the contract people...You can't buy/test/evaluate anything without their permission, and they're completely RIGID with DEMANDING you only use GSA approved vendors/contractors etc....

Well, apparently they're only rigid with Agencies---they seem to have found multiple loop holes to take care of themselves....

Don't forget the ever popular..."I pay your salary"...:mad: Yeah, by that logic, I pay myself, so I think I'm better serving my budgetary input by fishing today...

:lmao: i hope you gave your self a raise and went fishing today fed.:thumbsup2
