Great idea! Hopefully the rings are made faster than your TR updates... Well, I guess you never said WHICH Mother's Day you were talking about.. 2020? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Bravo. :lmao:

Hi Everyone. Been a busy time around the ole homestead. DW's parents are here "helping". Basically, they're sugaring up Madison and Evan with tons of junk food and letting them get away with a lot more than the kids know they're allowed to get away with. So basically, not helping at all. They head back to Florida tomorrow morning, so we'll finally be able to figure out what our routine will be and we can settle into it. Bambi is looking forward to it more than I am. :wave2: <-wave goodbye. . :thumbsup2

I was able to get two weeks of leave with each child when they were newborns. Grandparents think they are helping, but I always wondered who those actual people were and where they abducted the parents I lived with.

Hope that starts to ease up a little. Never nice to have to work in those conditions.
:rotfl2:

Fell asleep in the office today. I think the meds have worn off now. Yikes.

Monday morning ownage.

Not trying to provoke you. Just wanted to check in. Glad you have him in check.

Feel free to write and mail me a check as well.

The check is in the mail. Just wait outside at the mailbox. No provoking taken just can't wait until yours are this age. But by then, mine will be thinking of marrying some goof. My life is a living hell.

Been away from the DIS too long to catch up on everything. Hope everyone had a good week!

Our trip to Ohio went very well. It was nice to finally see my parents again... first time back since my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma, went through the chemo treatments, and is now recovering and declared cancer free! She's looking good for what she's gone through.

DD absolutely LOVED the visit at the mine. Quite frankly, so did I! Couldn't have asked for better weather... 75 and sunny. Could have stayed all day, but we were pretty beat from all the traveling and we were all looking forward to our cozy beds.

Don, good for your mom. Great pics especially Emma's. Too bad she doesn't look like she is having any fun. Did that once in Georgia at an old gold mine. Lots of fun but like Yukon Cornelius came away with nothin.

Fear not. The Cubbies are coming to town.

Will be there Thursday afternoon. Have a ticket that is so far going to be unused if you want to catch a game. The kids had a fun time yesterday at the game. I have rediscovered my joy of baseball. Even if they still have a losing record.

I'm back at work today and tomorrow, then took the rest of the week of. Then back Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. Sure is hard to be sitting here when I could be at home napping with Ryder.

So how is the Jeep's mirror? And have you gotten off the couch napping with Ryder to do some running? Don't make me come up there.

Haven't been online since Friday, so I'm behind. On top of that, playing phone tag with insurance people and dealing with all that BS, while having my nerves on edge that everytime DW calls, it will be time to drop everything and run to the hospital... I really thought we were going last night.

Andy, hang in there. Not a good time to meet a bus up close and personal but it will get fixed. And the little one will greet the world when she is ready. Hope both go smoothly.

I just got home from DROPPING off my tax info to the accountant. Fun times I tell ya! :badpc:

I hate tax time and I hate math. Did it this year myself because the bozo that did last year's ended up in costing me a major Uncle Sam penalty. Hurt to write the check this year, but not as bad as last year.

It's snowing outside! Now I can drain the gas from the snow blower. Always that last April storm that comes.

No its not. It is 85 degrees here. OH, you mean where you are. Sorry to rub it in but it is a really nice day here today.

Great idea! Hopefully the rings are made faster than your TR updates... Well, I guess you never said WHICH Mother's Day you were talking about.. 2020? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well played sir. Well played.

Afternoon gentlemen! Just finished installing a package of bees in a new hive and now it is time to pick up the kids and get ready for scouts. Wonder if I will ever get any of my work done?

DD got her first BB gun while there. She's been asking for months to get one and we decided it was time to get it. She's a natural shooter like her dad :goodvibes Even had her shoot the XD9 and handled it well! Her favorite, though, was plinking away with the Ruger 10/22 scoped rifle. Now she wants to put a scope on her Daisy single pump! :lmao:

Was it a Red Ryder carbine action Air Rifle? I hope she didn't shoot her eye out.

I know that feeling. After the fiasco of the first round of "help", we politely refused for all subsequent children.

I've definitely used those words before. "Where was this version of you when I was a kid?"

It needs to be replaced, but a quick online search shows that I should get away with it for less than $20.
The story behind it: Evan and I were in the driveway play catch on Saturday. (The backyard is too small and full of dog poo, so we play out there). Anyway, the Jeep was parked in front of the garage, with Evan pitching from behind it, and I was catching near the street. Evan told me that the runner on first was going to steal on his next pitch and I had to throw him out. The smaller person-sized door to the garage was open, so I decided that I'd just whip the throw in there where there was nothing breakable within harms way. Evan pitched a fastball slightly up and away from the imaginary left-handed batter, giving me a perfect opportunity to get off a quality throw to the imaginary shortstop covering second. As soon as the ball left my hand, I knew it was money. It was heading right for the middle of the open garage door, but then it cleared the back of the house. The garage sits about 15 feet behind the house, and in that ever so tiny space, a gust of wind came off the corner of the house and blew the ball off course and directly into the driver's side mirror. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

DW and I managed to keep the gem mine visit a secret until we got to the hotel on Friday night. She knew something was up when we weren't pulling into our driveway! :rotfl2: Here's a shot from when we pulled into the West Virginia welcome center:

And a few from our "mining" experience:

DD and DW digging away here:

At the sluice boxes:

A piece of pink amethyst I found:

Ended up buying a rock tumbler yesterday! :lmao: I'll take more pics of the loot when I get a chance. Got some really nice looking gems. In all we took home pieces of amazonite, pink amethyst, mica, quartz, and garnet. If you are interested, the web site for the mine is here:

WOW!!! EMMA HAS TEETH NOW!!! :lmao: i keep forgetting the trip report im reading is from two years ago.:lmao:

The story behind it:...

Good story and entirely plausible. But you didn't answer my second question. Running again? Remember Tim wants you to make cry like a little girl during the Half. Going to let him? I gave you a week off.

Sorry about that - I got too caught up in my baseball story.
I am back to "running." I had to put that in quotes because I'm not sure I can legally call that running. After two weeks without running and waaaaaay too much "convenience" food, my first run was abismal. I was routinely running 5 miles before taking off, I only managed 2.5 (with several I-think-I'm-going-to-die walk breaks) on my first run since. I'm confident I can get back into shape quickly though. Every classic Disney Hero movie has to have a setback or two, right?

Sounds great. I've never been to Miami but it's a little too far from home. Maybe next time. Thanks for the offer.

Sure. Old Yeller, Bambi's mom, and Mufasa all had their struggles but it worked out ok in the end..

Ummm... extending this logic to other movies, I'm beginning to worry about CJ as coach. Thnk of these famous movie coaches:

Rocky - Micky (dead)
Star Wars - Ben Kenobi (dead)
Return of the Jedi - Yoda (dead)

CJ, you best get that will checked out and soon. :lmao:

And just what would be your hero name and power? I bet we can have fun with this.

Still waiting at the mailbox. it's to early to claim a losing season, unless you are the Cubs or my fantasy baseball team.

Better but remember I have a lot riding on you.
