We're baaaaaaccckk!

In Toronto after an early morning flight, luckily my room was ready at the hotel. Now I sit looking out at a rainy, foggy Lake Ontario wondering what to do for the day.

Yes, hate those toy days. What happened to school teaching them as opposed to party day, dress day, toy day, etc.

Well, this was from the after-school program, they don't do that in the classes that we know of. I still REALLY like this school. Amelia has progressed so far in her reading has almost caught up to her class now, they've really helped. DW talked to one of the parents recently from the old school, the majority of the kids are struggling there
?
Unfortunately, they still do that here. I guess they think it's a reward for good behavior, but it is another chore for parents. Then, when test taking is done at end of year, then it is all downhill. Last year, with extra snow days, there was 2 weeks of parties. Public school has just become free day care for working parents.
Wounds look ok - but they still remind me that they're there with their jolt of pain when I move just wrong.
This morning was my first sight of them. He stitched them up pretty tight. Hopefully that means that the scar isn't so visible. There's 10-12 stitches on my head and probably 15-17 in my back.
Just wish I didn't have to wear this huge a** bandage on my head. I'd much rather gloat with my stitches showing - playing tough guy.
"What happened to you?"
"I got knifed in an alley fight - you should see the other guy."![]()
I have a scar on my arm that I tell people was attained in a fight with a samurai
He lost of course![]()

Yep a frantic paced Sunday here!
Well - after a decent night's sleep - I woke up this morning to go to church and found that my right eye is almost swollen shut!
So I stayed home from 8am church and iced my eye and the swelling has come down a little bit. Made it to 10:30a church to see my DD sing and went to Brunch with my Aunt for her birthday.
Brunch was wonderful - eggs, eggs benedict, bacon, bacon, bacon, corn beef hash, something taco, chicken cordon blue, goulash, mashed potatoes, sausage gravy and biscuit. Oh and desert was bread pudding!
So now, it's back to icing my eye.
At first, when I woke up and saw my eye, I thought my Bell's Palsy came back. (google that if you don't know what it is). Then I thought I had conjunctivitis. Turns out, I may have just slept on it wrong.
Pray for me. Between the stitches on my head and back and my swollen eye - I feel pretty pathetic for a 34 year old.
So much for cutting the grass today.

Ouch. Brunch was better than our 2 McDoubles and 2 pies we picked up on the way home from church. Prayers for a quick recover and I could use a few myself... I just got off the phone with SWMBO and she and DD are on there way back to KY. We had a "discussion", that was more of a monologue on her part, about the kids spending a week with each set of grandparents in NY this summer and it was a draw. They get to go, but my mom's plan about taking them to Niagara Falls, CA was shot down definitively. Now I need to inform my mother and then hope that she doesn't decide to try to cross the border despite my wife's wishes.
I'm glad my dad gave me the BIG jug of wine when we saw them at Easter.![]()
