So we are under two weeks until our trip and I'm hesitant about our Garden Grove ressie for our epcot day. I'm concerned that we will likely be in the world showcase that afternoon and not sure if it is too far of a trek over to the GG for dinner? Was thinking maybe via napoli or mexico for dinner? Or just roll with the GG ressie?

haha nothing like second guessing yourself at the last minute :lmao:

I would avoid Mexico. Food isn't nearly as good as Via Napoli. The food at Via Napoli is some of the best in Disney. And I would agree with your concern about the hike back to Future World.

Reservations have gotten significantly easier to change now that they are requiring credit cards. Go for it!

I second Doc's opinion. I've never been overly impressed by the food at Mexico, and Via Napoli has become one of my favorite places to eat. So my opinion is to get an ADR at Via Napoli, order an extra pizza, freeze it and put it in an insulated shipping box and send it to me. :thumbsup2

haha your facebook recommendations motivated me to reconsider. Via Napoli seems more economical also versus garden grill. Those buffets really add up without the dining plan and a group.

Chris's advice is spot on. I love Mexico, personally, and I would still pick Via Napoli over it. The food is awesome, great atmosphere, and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.

and the online restaurant reservation system is down now haha. Gotta love Murphy's Law

We really enjoyed our meal at GG. The food and service was good, and the characters spent a lot of time with the kids. We had fun with Mickey and my hat.

Thanks to all for your kind words and keeping my family in your prayers. My grandfather's wake is on Wednesday and the funeral is on Thursday.

Many of you passed this milestone long ago. As you can see I’ve been around for a few years and I have actually been very consistent in visiting the boards the whole time.

While I may never have the highest posting stats, and bacon has never made it long enough in my house to get a picture taken, I’m glad to be a part of this group. You are a great bunch of guys and I am proud to call myself a DisDad. :thumbsup2
Great post Mike! It's been a pleasure knowing ya! :thumbsup2

My son got assigned to a T-Ball team today, He is a player on The Yankee's:goodvibes
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Tonight we had a rehearsal for an Eagle Court of Honor coming up this Wednesday night. I'm the Master of Ceremonies. This is the 2nd time now that I'm getting to do that. What an honor to be selected and asked by this young men to come and do that for them. I'm looking forward to it. Mentoring is so very cool!
I hope when you deliver your opening line it starts with 'Yo, yo, yo' and ends with 'Yeeaahhhhhhh Booooooyyyyyzzzzzzzz'

Fun all star game. Lots of dunks and not a lot of D.
So it was just like regular season games? :confused3

The Oscars are still like watching paint dry, but at least this amused me for a bit.
They were on and I passed out after seeing J.Lo. I figured there wasn't any more to see after that.

Off to the dentist. Hope your morning is better than mine.
Hey. I had a dentist appointment this morning too. I hope yours went as good as mine. :goodvibes

Looks like more rain in Daytona today. I hope they can get this frickin race in sometime.
My FIL and my MIL's boyfriend are there (not together). They had a long day yesterday and it seems they are going to have a long day today too. Who knows... they might have a long day tomorrow too. :lmao::lmao:

That's a great point. DW, DS and I ate there, shared a pizza and I even drank a $9 beer, all for about the cost of one adult plate at a buffet.

Did you see the announcement they made about 45 min ago? Start time is scheduled for 7pm. They think the weather will clear by then. Hope so.

Glivec is keeping the leukemia in check. I'ts still difficult to have to go to the hospital once a month and watch a third of my salary go to medicine, but could be worse.

Cucumber Pepsi wasn't tat great either.

with that flavor i have to ask do they use you guys as a tester for these flavors ? I really think someone need to do more reserch or they need to stop dropping someone on there head before these meetings :lmao:

Morning guys....
It was one of THOSE nights last night, the ones where sleep that does come was restless, could not get my mind to shut down, then later on, a slight toothache, not bad enough to cause seroous pain, but a little to be annoying:sad2: Between that, and changing all the displays at work, it;s gonna be a long one. :headache:

Everything is uploaded via the scanners in real-time. Once a section is scanned, it's sent to the main server and compiled. Even if something is in multiple locations, it'll add it all up as long as it's counted. (I do remember doing it on paper 10 years ago!) You can see who made what counts even, it breaks it all down. I for one will take my time with it, get it right the first time.

I would LOVE a percentage for commission, if that were the case, I'd be planning a trip this year.
hope your feelling wide awake after last night but without the toothache thats what i go thru daily. have a nice week
it is good to have a great computer my company put in all new computers 3 years ago so they can do something like this and they keep telling us it is comming , it will come when i retire 15 years from now

Morning Dads.

I get to stay home today with a sick DS. Was pukin' throughout the night and we need this to be gone..FAST. Surprise cruise for him comes up a week from today and we need to catch our flight next Sunday. Hopefully this is the 24 hour variety.
Pixies for a speedy recovery and hope you guys have a magical cruise:wizard:

My grandfather had an electric fence for his cattle. I should have taken it!
I still would go for the more drastic aproach / how about making a sign IF YOU KNOCK ON THIS DOOR PREPEAR FOR A STUNNING

Off to the dentist. Hope your morning is better than mine.
Good luck

Morning guys...rainy and dreary out there this morning:surfweb:
sunny and a bit warm here

Morning gents!

Hope all are well! What'd I miss?

Seems very unfair to be back at work today, but fortunately, I'm heading back to Disney on Friday! :cool1:

Sorry about the video feed. Needed some video Viagra. I'll try again from the Boardwalk on Friday. Maybe it will work better :confused3
have a nice trip :wizard:

So do you sell honey?

I'm not large enough for that. I got into it because of the need for better pollination so I don't usually pull much honey. Three problem this year, a) it was a hive I split and they had a small work force b) terrible nectar flow last fall c) warm winter so they were pretty active.

Many of you passed this milestone long ago. As you can see I’ve been around for a few years and I have actually been very consistent in visiting the boards the whole time. So why did it take me this long to get to 1000 posts? :confused3

DW used to be on the boards regularly as well and while combing through the Family Boards one day, she came across a thread where the original poster was asking if there were Dads out there that were as fanatical about Disney as he was. I knew that this was a group that I belonged to but I never would have imagined that it would have grown to what it is today with over 600 members, a Facebook presence, website, podcast, and a whole sub-forum for just us dads to hang out in. I can remember when it took a week or more to fill up one page in the original thread. :rotfl:

A great thing about this club is that we can respect each other’s differences and keep the drama down, but the best thing about this group is the people in it. While I have never had the opportunity to meet any of you in person, I feel that I know many of you as if we had met and look forward to the day when we really can.

I used to visit other areas of the boards like the Theme Parks forum. :scared: Now it’s pretty much just the DisDads club and an occasional visit over to the cruising forum. I feel lucky to have so many friends here and while I don’t post that much and have never been a part of closing a thread down, I enjoy hanging out here almost every day.

I enjoy reading along with each of your adventures in life and living vicariously through your trips to the world when I can’t be there (even though I may be very envious). I follow along with your triumphs and pray during your tragedies. I’m enjoying watching your kids grow and am amazed at how similar things can be in my own house.

While I may never have the highest posting stats, and bacon has never made it long enough in my house to get a picture taken, I’m glad to be a part of this group. You are a great bunch of guys and I am proud to call myself a DisDad. :thumbsup2

Very well said Mike! :thumbsup2 We're glad you're a part of this bunch too.

My grandfather raised bees. There is nothing like fresh honey. I might have tried bees if I had the land. They say that if you eat bee honey from a local area it will help improve your allergies...

It can from the small amount of pollen in it. That is one way they are tracking "fake honey" imported from Asia. No pollen. You can also tell somewhat what country it comes from by the pollen.

DW's neck is hurting and she has been out of commission today. Dinner tonight was Honey Nut Cheerios.

Ouch. Hope things have improved.

Does anyone remember Pepsi Blue from about 10 years ago? I picked up a bottle, just to try it. Gave DW as sip, she made me pull the truck over so she could throw up. :scared:

Had she also been eating cheese balls? I hear they can cause nausea in some automobile passengers, as well.

I have not eaten at GG, but I find it hard to pass up the stuff around World Showcase.

Working from home today; the younger kiddo has strep. At least the peds clinic only had one other family there this morning. I could not believe I dodged the usual 10-deep line at opening, even though I got there 20 minutes after it opened. Both kids were complaining about a sore throat. One test came back positive, one came back negative, so they shipped off a second throat culture to an outside lab to double-check the negative result.

At least I get to work in a sweatshirt instead of a tie today.

Mondays.

My Mondays used to be filled with boring meetings, conference calls and other time-killers.

This morning I went to the post office. And had a good phone conversation with a client. And watched my DD get ready to head out to her gymnastics class. And called the dentist to reschedule our kids' appointment.

And I'm sitting here watching birds scamper about in the backyard, as I work on SEO stuff for my website.

I much prefer this type of Monday to the old type of Monday.

Tonight my sons and I are going to the "Wild Game Feed" event at our church. It's an annual, guys night event, where there's all kinds of really cool foods, like bison, rattlesnake bites, and other manly stuff. Plus comedians after the food. This is like the 5th or 6th year they've done it, but only my 2nd time going. Looking forward to hangin' with my boys tonight.

This weekend was a big "cross-over" weekend for many of our local Cub Scout Packs. Next weekend is another one. Between the two weekends, our Troop will be getting 32 boys. I'm looking forward to meeting them all very soon.
