Man, I missed 30 pages over the weekend. maybe I will read them. Spent some time on the new board. Looks good.

These boards are just moving too fast for me to keep up so I guess I will just focus on work today. Try to get ahead so I can have another Saturday off. Was nice to get one. Last year I only had 8 Saturdays off and two were while I was on vacation. Makes for a nice paycheck but you get tired of it.

Well talk to you guys later.

I am in inspection. I work for a company that has a foundry, machine shop, warehouse, assembly, welding and paint departments. Usually work from 5am to 4:30pm during the week, and 5am to anywhere from 11am - 1:30 on Sat.

I inspect and do layouts on new parts and revised parts, along with doing inspection of parts the machine shop is doing, some parts that are welded, prototypes, and parts that are made outside of here that are shipped here to use in our parts. I also do gage calibrations. We currently have 1333 gages according to my system. About 500 of them get sent out to be calibrated, the rest I do here.

We make parts for John Deere and CAT. Plus we make hot oil pumps for fryers, water supply parts for wells and industrial supplies.

When they run a new sample or a revised part I have to do a layout on it which is basically here is the part, here is the print. Check all of the dimensions and fill out this paperwork. Lots of paperwork. I hate paperwork.
Plus my boss thought it would be a good idea to put me on the Audit team, because we are ISO now. And for gages and things, my boss used to do all of the ordering and contacting, it has now been "delegated" to me.

There used to be 3 people doing this job. Now it is just me. They have been trying to get me some help but upper management doesn't want to hire anyone for indirect labor so I am here by myself. And since the slowdown they have been running twice as many samples. For example, when they were training me in here, we had 2-3 samples a week. Then after my trainer retired a couple of weeks later we went to anywhere from 8-13 a week. It has slowed a little since and we are now around 5 on average but I defiantly stay hopping.

Then there is cub scouts (i am the cubmaster now), sports, and family. So Saturdays off are treasured.

The iron is 2300° - 2700° F

I have my scars. No that isn't me.

what the trap looks like;

Looks like a marker for where the snowmobile went in.

Hi guys just a quick check in. I am sitting in a hospital room, my 4 month old has been admitted with a nasty case of rsv. He is running 104 fever and not breathing well but he is a trooper and still manages a smile every once in a while.

Sorry to hear that, hope they are keeping him comfy and he is getting some rest.

Then I got off of the pouring deck and moved to the molding line. Making the molds you see in the picture. (All the black things and what he is pouring into).
Then moved to the Machine shop, and now in Inspection. As my boss "delegates" more to me he says it is to prepare me to one day take over his job as Quality Manager.
My reply has always been the same. I would not and do not want to do your job. But it does me no good. He has told me though if I quit he will quit. (probably because he will have to do something again :lmao:)

Other than UK losing focus and not adjusting to opponent, my fear is future NCAA sanctions. But, that is the future.....
Since Calipari, they have sent some great teams to the tournament. This team looks great as well. But, Calipari doesn't have the best record of staying clean.
You may be the only Kentucky fan who actually has a concept of reality. Either that or the rest of them are already in denial.:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Okay, may have gotten it working. Still going after 10 minutes! Can't promise though...
