I was thinking more like this:

Everyone is better. Im back to work today. Better take the weekend off though havent been here all week and need a few days off. :lmao:
To top it off Im on predisone so im wired out and cant sleep. Going through my bedroom to FINALLY fall asleep at 130am and caught my pinky toe on the toeboard of the bed....SNAPPPP!!! Black and blue and broken. Love my life!
Ouch, that hurts just readin' it.

...
Our pension plan was scrapped years ago.
Bonuses ended in 2002…
Merit increases have been suspended since 2005…
I took a 22% decrease in 2006 to remain employed.
The last cost of living adjustment was in 2007…
401k contributions are no longer matched…
Dental insurance is now 100% on employees…
Medical insurance goes up about 8% annually…
My profession has been moved to India, so comparable jobs are scarce…
What comparable jobs do exist are hiring in at about 48% of my current salary…
Being just shy of 50… I’m too old to be hired by said comparable employers
(age discrimination does exist… do even try to tell me it don’t)

Our employee level was over 45,000 ten years ago and it’s down to beneath 2,000 now, so I am one of the very lucky ones here (and we’ll be closing more operations this year)

Want to trade?

Seems pretty familiar. Hang in there. At least we are still on the green side of the grass.

You never know what will catch their eye. Of the three in my avatar, the Beverly quote was there already… the DDC number they pulled out of my sig, and the last quote came out of a throw away comment I made on a whole other thread.

But … I like it so that’s a win.

I'm good with mine, though I wish they had corrected the spelling error in my post. :rotfl: However it just proves the point I was making about my phone being smarter than i am.

Aaron, here is an idea...when watching KU and drinking beer, maybe, just maybe, I don't know, just a thought...stay off the boards? Just saying
Hmmm. Good suggestion. I think I'll cover myself by either staying off of the boards entirely or at the very least not visiting Google Images while drinking and watching the game. :littleangel:

Pretty good sounding plan. Although my comments would be to change the Costco wings to Buffalo Wild Wings and make homemade biscuits and gravy Monday morning. :thumbsup2

Hmmmm. Also interesting. Unfortunately, I'd already made the stop at Costco for the wings before I read this. And I can't make my own biscuits and gravy, because I can't cook with pork sausage in the house. I'd rather go out and get the good stuff. :)

They're saying 2"-4" of the white fluffy stuff here in the capital city this weekend. It'll probably turn out to be a dusting that melts by the time I have to go to work on Monday. Anyone else got a snowy future? Canadians need not reply.

Me unfortunately. If it looks like projected, I will have a longer period of bachelorhood while the family is away and waiting for snow to melt so they can return on Monday.

Girl Scout Cookie Delivery Confirmation!!! Truck is to arrive on Tuesday with 7200 boxes for our county. Our county population in 2010 wasn't quite 14000 so I guess we did a fair job in contributing to the declining health of the region.

Just got back home from picking up DW's van from the repair shop. :headache:

I hate how much it costs to do a few things. And then to hear... your van needs new tires. Not a nice statement on a Friday afternoon. Oh well. That'll be next week's fun.
:headache:
I think the car the family leaves me with for the summer will be needing a power steering pump replacement soon.:headache: What's worse is that is just a guess so whatever they tell me I will just have to go with. :headache::headache:

Pretty quiet for a Friday evening. Just received some lapping film in the mail as a small gift so I am off to try honing my favorite straight razor.
mystraightfinishedb.jpg

My first attempt at honing so I hope I don't mess it up. It came to me ready to use but it needs sharpening now. Tool sharpening is a skill I never learned when younger but something that I hope to teach my son and daughter.

You are braver than I Shawn.

Bleh. :sad2: Not fun.

got to finish the trim work in Daughter's new room tomorrow. Her furniture arrived today.

Speaking of short and meaningless, high Brian.
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:
Hi guys. I would like to introduce the newest member of the Duck family. His name is Charlie and he is an 8 week old mini Goldendoodle
Madison was reading over my shoulder tonight. Charlie is Madison approved! :thumbsup2

Owwww...time for a vacation.

Wow - I just read 21 pages since 10p last night! :scared1:

But, you learned so much from us.

Thanks guys. We did a lot of research and felt this breed would fit our family well. We had to vote on the name, the choices were:!

I thought about naming him Norm, but then realized I like this dog :lmao:

Bravo! :rotfl:

the same is being called for here. I bet people have already gone and bought up all the bread and milk and eggs :rotfl2:

I have not looked at the forecast. I hope we don't get snowed in, I won't be able to make French toast.

Yeah. Way to go. Did you get a few cases of Mountain Dew shipped in as well?

Prayers for you.

You and Don are welcome to stop in and finish trim, add on a room, add a kegerator, paint or whatever other home repair work you choose.

I have a few things here that need to be done as well. You're welcome to come by anytime. You do the work, I'll buy the pizza! :thumbsup2

Kegerator sounds nice. It would take about 30 minutes to install at most and then we could spend a few days "testing". Its all about quality control:lmao:

You guys know how to motivate me...Pizza and beer.:woohoo:

Twenty pages to catch up on...good thing it's Saturday...

Excellent. So, you both agree that you are on the way to my house to install the kegerator, do quality control, and eat pizza. I'll go turn on the porch light.

Naaaa… it’s still leap year whether we close it down in a week or a month.

However, and not that I would condone such a thing, but…

If we can (somehow or other) keep this one open until then… we could open a “Leap Day Edition” on the 29th and see if we can close it down in one day. There are folks here that can certainly put a hurting on a thread. And… once we’ve done it, that milestone will be out of our system and we won’t need to worry about that particular bit of nonsense again.

Now I’m regretting that I actually said that out loud.

:lmao:

Sounds like a good idea. The only problem I see with it is Leap Day is a Wednesday, which will make it a little more challenging. If it were on a weekend, I'm sure we could do it, no problem.
