We are all truly fortunate. I try to never take anything for granted!

We are in no means wealthy... but we are doing all right. We both work hard to provide a comfortable lifestyle for the family.

The bills get paid on time, the kids don't know what it is to ever be without. They have the latest gaming systems, movies, big screen TV, and get to vacation in WDW.

But we also know that could all change on a whim.

We all have to be thankful for what we have.

Did you see the one where Homer does the taxes? He waits til April 14 @ 11:30 PM, makes up dependents and income sources, shoves it in a rolled up ball in an envelope, tapes ot, drives to post office and throws it in right before clock hits midnight. As the package travels down, there are two bins - easy refund and severe audit. Homer's bounces into severe audit and has to wear a wire against the mob.

Think that could happen? I didn't see a turbo tax option for that.

Evening! Just got all caught up for today...loved the war stories, have nothing to add :confused3 Everyone should be proud. :thumbsup2

As usual, we're doing...nothing! :woohoo: I love my wife, but won't be held hostage by a Hallmark holiday.

I have a buddy who takes his wife to White Castle every V-day. She's cool with it.

Man, whenever I suggest White CAstle to DW, she glares at me, V-Day or not. :lmao:

I thought WDW - or maybe more specifically just MK - was a "no fly zone" I know I've see skywriters over by Animal Kingdom but I can't recall ever seeing an airplane or helicopter over MK.

I think I read that while the "Jesus" skywriter looks like they are over Animal Kingdom, technically, the plane isn't.

:lmao: I've seen that skywriter before....too funny....

Anyone else getting snow right now:confused3:scared1:

NO SNOW!!! Still cold but dry here :woohoo:

Hi my name is Travis recently turned 32. married with a 3 year old daughter who happens to have an extra 21st chromosome. finally got back to disney world after a 24 year absence back in July. We will be making a trip back to Disney in January 2013(27th- Feb 1). to celebrate my Occupational Therapy degree completion. A little break before I begin working toward my masters. We are so excited about our trip that the vacation planning CD is played at least once daily. As proof of my love of Disney world I will share a moment from our last trip that no one else knows about. We arrived to the magic kingdom on our first day and happened to walk in as the parade was about to begin. We lucked up and got a spot right up front on the center island near the entrance (where the flagpole is). It was truly a magical experience as almost every character walked right up to us and gave my wife and daughter hugs. At the end of the parade my wife looked up me wiping her tears away. I just smiled and was happy I had on my sunglasses and she couldn't see I was barely holding them back myself.:cool1: It was really meaningful to have such a great time as a family. The last 3 years were pretty hectic after my daughter's birth and finding out she had down syndrome. We enjoyed every step but the disney magic was just what we needed. Looking forward to getting a lot of tips from the board for our next trip.

Welcome !!

"psst, can you pay me under the table? I've got a little tax problem.." :rotfl2:

In regard to the song Allentown by Billy Joel, i remember when it first came out and there was a bit of an uproar over it. The Mayor of Allentown claimed it was never that bad and that Joel was actually singing about Bethlehem but Allentown sounded more melodic. Did they ever turn that old steel mill into a railway museum?

with only 12 days before I can make our ADR's, I guess I should come up with some kind of rough plan:confused3 My wife always laughs and says I have a built in WDW GPS planted inside me:lmao: Since I can come up with a plan on a drop of a dime:goodvibes

We're guys, planning is in our DNA.

I think someone is trying to get my attention. Just had a great rant written and tried to post and the server logged me out :rotfl: I may be a little (or a lot) slow, but I know when to give up go pull the sheet over my head and call it a day.

Haven't really been able to keep up with all that is going on but "Welcome" to the new guys, congratulations to those deserving, and prayers for those in need.

It's the gift that keeps on giving. Let's eat in the restaurant and see who can hold in the gas the longest? Or, who can get to the toilet first?

You can just see the restaurants you want to go.

We're guys, planning is in our DNA.

And, since it's Disney, it's DIS DNA.

Sounds like a bad day. Hang in there.

Enough for me tonite as well. Hopefully, the heat will stay on thru the night. Later.

I don't think he completely comprehends the severity of the issue.

He understood that some people don't have enough money for food.

He was really helpful with the restocking of the shelves - kinda 'cause I was there to nudge him.

I don't think he was really emotionally moved, but he knew he was helping, and he said he felt good about that.

my youngest and I helped out at the food pantry with her Girl Scout troop be for Xmas. she seemed to get it a little, we talked about how the people that came did not have enough and we were doing just a little to help. she is 6 and was just as interested in being with her friends doing something. I tend to do all the trips I can with her troop. DW is my oldest leader so I dont do as much with her, but cookie time is next week.:scared1:

I am sending my resume out for a job in town. it is way out of my comfort zone, but it would be a great improvement from the 465 miles I drove today. only 100 of that was to and from work.

Welcome Travis :cool1: glad to have you aboard!

i didnt make a speech, most of you couldnt understand my spelling anyway. :lmao:

There's an app for that :lmao:

Aerosmith's " I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" was our wedding song. After Aerosmith, ZZ Top would be my next favorite. Don't have any Randy Travis.

I remember being at WDW during the premier of Armageddon. We racinto some of the cast when we were walking around GF. Michael Clark Duncan is a big man!

Just got back from taking my son to an outing from his beaver group.

They visited a local food pantry.

Guys, honestly it was tough to see the place.

They are a small operation, with shelves of boxed and canned goods setup...

They have families come through there picking up groceries, they are allowed to come once a month.

And during their visit, they can only take very very limited supplies of food. Each shelf is labeled with a number, and thats how many things you are allowed to take off of it.

To give you an idea, a family of 4 is allowed 1 box of cereal, 4 tins of canned vegetables, 1 box of cookies, 1 package of spaghetti, 1 package of other assorted pastas, 3 boxes of Kraft Dinner (or Kraft Mac and Cheese as you yanks call it), 2 tins of tuna, 3 tins of beans, 1 roll of toilet paper, etc... for a whole MONTH... I think it works out to about a 4 or 5 day supply.

It really gives you a new perspective on how fortunate we are...

We not only toured the facility, but then helped stock shelves with donations.

It was great that you got to experience it together. We are all fortunate. I think serving others is a noble thing. When we go to the store we try to get extra stuff like can goods and cereal to donate to the food pantry.

Good morning all :surfweb:

On the hallmark holiday, I don't need a date on a calendar to tell DW she is special and I love her.

However, I do "something". I don't do store bought cards, I usually write a letter/poem or give her a framed picture of something from the last year. This year I have something cool up my sleeve. She will get it on Sunday since we are going to some friends house on Tuesday. I will make a traditional Italian meal for lunch and then give her and the DD's their gifts.

Morning guys! Its been a long few days, as of yesterday evening when I got home, I had 33 hrs on the books already. Gonna be busy couple of days until the weekend, where hopefully time will stop for a week or two. :thumbsup2

I haven't even thought about V-day, and barely had time to cruise the boards. I guess I need to come up with something...

Matt

Good Luck! What's the job?

I remember when I was about 10, two Green Bay Packers - Tim Harris and Tony Mandarich (before he was a huge bust) were signing autographs at a local grocery store. My aunt took me, and as we were working our way though the line toward their table, they got up to take a brake and walked right past me. I'd never seen such large human beings in my life. :scared1:
