Actually... no luck so far. Called and once I finally spoke with a live person, I was told that the online counter was apparently wrong and I'd have to wait until today. Well, I didn't like that answer since my trip starts on 12/1 and I could book an ADR on 12/1 online despite what the CM told me, but ok, whatever. Tried this morning and same thing. I'll have to call again, probably this evening when I get home from work.

Never hit a guy with the ball intentionally, but I've nailed a few guys running the bases. a couple of them in the back of the head. I also took out a couple of my own players. Once, i took out our pitcher who covered home on a flyball to center. He took his eye off the ball and my throw hit him in the forehead. I also hit our first baseman in the leg on a short hop and he had a black and blue mark there that lasted over a year.

I also hit a young woman in the stands (one of the other team's fans). Play at third, and my throw from the outfield sailed... over the dugout, and into the bleachers.

The only people who seem to be safe from me are the umpires.

Fortunately for everyone I play with, I tore my rotator about 4 years ago. The arm has never been the same.

I about got my nose broken in high school. I played first base and our infield had to be re-done between my junior and senior year. Part of the reason we re-did was that the cutouts around the bases were higher than the grass and dirt around them. Meaning if a ball hit just right at the edge of the grass, it basically ramped up. A throw was coming to me from short and I was ready to grab it on the hop. It hit that lip on the edge of the grass and hopped up and got me between the eyes. Talk about a bloody mess...

I've hit my coach's car a few times. Playing short, overthrew first, ball skipped through another field and hit the BMW. Another time after giving up a homer I drilled the next guy with a fastball right in the thigh. It was a complete accident, but given the circumstances it didn't look too good. Also pitching one day the curve just wasn't there. So every curve I tried to throw was sailing up and in to the righties. They started getting ticked and were mumbling not-so-nice things. The ump gave me a warning for my own protection. My coach came out and said loud enough for everyone to hear, "C'mon, he couldn't break a pane of glass!" Thanks for the support coach! (I was 16 and could barely hit 70 mph at that age.)

We had an assistant coach one year in high school who was absolutely nuts. He supposedly used to be an assistant coach at Clemson and joined us late in the season after supposedly trying and failing to catch on with a coaching staff in spring training. Anyway, he drove an old beat up Chevy station wagon, and whether it was a game, practice, whatever, would always drive it out around the field and park it right behind the 3B dugout. During BP, it always seemed to be an unspoken challenge to see if anyone could get a foul ball high enough and with the right trajectory to drop it over the dugout and onto his car. We never managed, to do it in practice, but finally in a game we had somebody hit a foul ball just perfectly. The ball shot up into the air and just hung there. It seemed like forever. It was a beautiful sight. It dropped straight down onto the hood and left a nice crater. The indention was so perfect, I think you could probably count the stitches.


As far as throwing goes... well that's why I played first Actually I caught all through little league, but converted to first in HS. Had a coach once who wanted to make me a pitcher because I'm tall and I could throw to second from my knees. Apparently I have more control from the ground than a pitchers mound.

FYI, if anyone is planning a trip during Candlelight Processional dates, I just found out that you can't book ADR's for most EPCOT restaurants yet. I've been having a heck of a time getting our ADR's booked now that we're in our window and I actually had to call to do it as it wouldn't let me book anything online. I tried to get a lunch ADR for Le Cellier on 12/5, but was unable to obtain one. The CM told me that they have the restaurants with Candlelight Processional packages blocked out right now until they determine how many CP packages they will offer. He said there probably won't be any ADR's available for Le Cellier for that week until they start selling the CP packages.

This might be common knowlege, but I hadn't seen it yet and just found out this afternoon when I was told that I couldn't get an ADR. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else is planning a trip. This isn't how it worked last year.

I just found out that I may be at WDW for the DDC. I'd be with my cousin to do the half-marathon. Has an agenda been set? Does Aaron know room rates yet? We may just rent DVC points from family members.

Thanks all. I'm still considering it. Like Dave, we really liked Labor Day week - for the small crowds and deals - but can't be there now with children in school. We are doing the refinance thing on Friday, so I think I will readjust the budget, see what is there, and then book the trip if the deal is still there. I'm not sure I can do 4 consecutive commando days anymore, especially with no sleep the first day, but it would be fun to try.

Good Morning dads. Good in the sense that I'm on the green side of the sod and have a job. Beyond that not so much. Not sure why everything waits until my research assistant goes on vacation to fall apart. If I was officially a plumber and electrician I could get paid a lot more than I do and live anywhere. Instead I get to try to piece things together as best I can and live here.

Good basketball game last night. It was hard to stay up that late, but worth it. Another good one on tonite.

On the work front, I have participant in my training this week that is knocking my socks off. She is quite young, wears low cut tops, and has had a different color bow in the side of her hair each day. Today was over the top. She had on white pants with a black thong. Oh, you know she knows what she is doing. I'm trying to figure out how to take and post a picture for you guys, but haven't had the opportunity.

First impressions of D-cot.

I like that I can choose a track and get it right from the beginning as opposed to joining in the middle with dtuneslive. It's also neat to see what the other dads are listening to. But why do random people want to be my "pal"? Especially random girls? I got married so I wouldn't have to be pals with random girls.

But I can't find how to play The Haunted Mansion from start to finish. If I can't hear the opening bells from HM, that's a deal-breaker.

Thought about signing up but will it bring a lot of junk mail?

I don't know about everyone else but I was running around like a maniac. Finally at home waiting for SIL's flight to arrive.

Maybe everyone else was watching the Queen's Jubilee.

Actually, this is exactly what happened to us last year when we went the 1st week of December. It did open up shortly after they started selling the CP packages and we were able to get in where we wanted. However, we had done Le Cellier lunch as our CP package, so we lucked out there

Yes, but it reminds me of what life used to be. But, I wouldn't trade what I have.
