UCONN has had 27 NBA players but 20 of them have been since 1990. pirate:

It's funny. They were one of the founding schools in the Big East, but were not a Big East Power until the early '90s. I know Calhoun got there in the mid-80s. Now, they are an elite national power and have been so for years.

I was always a fan of Seton Hall who looked like they were going to be a national power. Then PJ Carlesimo left for the pros so he could get choked by Latrell Sprewell, and Seton Hall has been a middling team ever since.

When are you going:confused3

Not exactly sure yet. We are thinking of going whatever week the southern schools are back in session.

We have some calendar/scheduling things to work out because my daughter's figure-skating team usually has their boot camp the 2nd or 3rd week of August.

We are debating where to stay as well. My wife and I loved the Wilderness Lodge when we went in 2000 before we had kids.

As an aside, you know you are a Disney nut when you take a vacation there without kids and consider it the best vacation you and your wife took, including your honeymoon in Hawaii. But I digress.

We took the kids on their first trip and stayed at the Contemporary. We love the convenience of the CR, and my son was a train nut so he loved the idea of a train running through the hotel, but the CR is not a great "themed" hotel.

We are debating between taking the kids to the Wilderness Lodge because we loved the theming and the boats to the park are convenient and fun, or going back to the Contemporary because of the convenience of the Monorail.

Neither of us are huge fans of the Animal Kingdom - 1/2 to 3/4 day park and I'm done, so we like being closer to DW and Epcot.

I've heard some great things about other hotels like Coronado Springs and Boardwalk, but I have some definite research to do. I think, in the end, the wife prefers the Wilderness Lodge and it is really hard to argue with her.

Wednesday nights is Dungeons & Dragons for me.
Oh. I don't understand it... although I never tried. :confused3

Calhoun single handedly turned a nothing basketball program at a school in the middle of nowhere into a power. It will be interesting to see what is going to happen in a few years when Calhoun steps down.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

The Hall has had some rough years.

HOwdy Tim.

Stopped in to check out the new thread and it is over 150 pages already. They should rename the DIS Dads Club to the Coffee Klatch Yentas.
:worship: :lmao::lmao::lmao:

The Hall has had some rough years.

They have and it is puzzling to people from NJ (like me). They should be a top team every year given the basketball studs in the NY/NJ area. Heck, every year, NJ has 2 or 3 of the top high school basketball teams in the country. The problem is that hardly any of their players end up at the Hall. When Calipari, Pitino and Coach K come knocking, the kids are gone. If they had a big time coach again, they would be a consistent top 10 team because of all the local talent.

Instead, I am left with the memory of pretending to be a Seton Hall student so I could get discounted tickets to the Final Four in Seattle in 1989. (Airfare, hotel and game tickets - $500 for SHU students, $1200 for non-students). What a great time that was. Though they lost to Michigan (damn Rumeal Robinson), it was a fantastic final four. That Michigan team that won had 6-7 pros on it - Glen Rice, Robinson, Terry Mills, Loy Vaught, and a few others. Their semi-final game against Illinois was more of a slam-dunk contest than an actual game. The SHU-Duke semi-final game was a blowout as Danny Ferry was not enough against a senior-laden SHU team.

Well I am mostly caught up (spot checking every couple of pages), I do not think I have posted in over 100 pages. I would have except that my response would be 30 or 40 pages after the original and I would not want to confuse anyone who is actually trying to make sense out of this.

On a nicer note, the Time Wrap must be working again as it seems that the DIS has past Feb 30 since Brother Steve has been tagged.

Now it is time to call it a night.

no... everything seems fine here. Are you messed up?

uh... everything's under control. Situation normal.

Okay, did i get this right? I post to this thread so know I've joined the club? Should i post something that lists my qualifications?

Alright, it's me, the DW, the DS (24) and one golden retriever, had two, lost one just before Christmas. From the sunny state of NJ. The wife and I are Army Civilians, me 32 years, her 3 years. Son just graduated with degree in Sports Management, seeking employment. I'm a life long Disney fan. The first movie i remember seeing in a theater was Mary Poppins with my mom. Have an extensive collection of Disney DVDs and VHS. Routinely rewatch the WDW DVD from Modern Marvels. We hit WDW twice a year now, once in May for our wedding Anniversary and again in Oct with a large family group. DVC members since 2004. Hobbies include two Dodge muscle cars, writing fan fiction as well as original fantasy adventure stories. Struggle to play guitar and read extensively. I quess that's sufficient for the moment.

Terry.

Welcome Terry! I was born and raised in central NJ, so I also know what a jughandle is.

Perhaps you should, my Army job involves explosives and demolitions devices...ahhhh, feggedaboudit

If you really wanted to scare him you'd say you worked for the Dept. of Sanitation.

I think KU on paper was better.

Sadly, they don't play the games on paper.

Been a great day here!!

The highlight of my day was that I was able to leave work early and take Miss Lauren on a lunch date!:goodvibes We just went ot Mcdonalds, but it was her choice!!! Loved every minute of it. I wish I had the opportunity to do that more often. When Ethan got hom from school we all got to take a nap!!:thumbsup2 Now, that is a great day!!:rotfl2:

Any day with a nap is a good day! DD showed DW a video of me napping that she recorded on her leap pad. Now DW thinks I spend all my time napping when I am home with the kids. My response is that I must have been awake for a few minutes because there are crumbs all over and around the table and neither one of those kids can make their own food!

Carl just because Brain...er excus me Brain controls the Universe he thinks he is a big shot! :rotfl2:

cracking up thinking about an episode of Pinky and the Brain where Brain goes on Jeopardy! and Alex Trebek keeps calling him "Brian".

I don't think Mickey Bars would be so great if not shaped like Mickey's head, and more importantly, not eaten at a Disney Park.

Finally got the tree out of the house and on the curb. There are pine needles EVERYWHERE! I lifted the area rug to sweep underneath it and I am pretty sure there were pine needles there from the 2010 tree.

Good morning guys :surfweb:

We watched a Disney Behind the Magic (I think that was the title) last night on Netflix. During the show they said a guest could stay at WDW for a year and still not see and experience everything.

Gentlemen, we have been challenged, whose ready to take them up on it :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

I say challenge accepted :cool1:

My wife really watches some horrible shows. Theres one on now called Revenge. I don't think I'll be getting into it.

Revenge is a great show!! If you watch it from the beginning. If you catch it from the middle then.. You just won't get it. But if you didn't like lost then you probably won't like revenge. It was written by the same people.
The premise is her dad was set up for a crime he didn't commit. When she was 9 she was taken to foster care and from that point on she has plotted revenge against those that did this to her family. Her dad before he was arrested invested in a small electronics company that now give his daughter UNLIMITIED funds in the millions a day bracket. But revenge always has a price.

Plus she is peanut buttery HOT!!:cool1:
