Just a quick check-in - it's been a really busy day. You'd think I'd have adjusted to this after a decade in this job, but I always forget just how awful the post-holiday craziness is. Everyone gets back to their offices and finally notices that HUGE pile of stuff that's been put off due to the holidays for the last month, and everyone's scrambling to catch up, comply with deadlines, etc.

Of all the posts I just read since I last checked in this morning, this is the one post that really spoke to me...

Or do what I do and just randomly check in every 15 pages without bothering to read the whole thing.

And you have no idea how many calls we in IT get from people who just came back from 2 weeks off and have no clue what their password is.

I can only imagine what that's like in your line of work. For my job, all the goals for the year have to be met by 12/31... so right now this is our slow time. It's the only way I can get caught up on the thread!

I guess I'm spoiled by the fact that WDW is open all year long. Cedar Point has NO information for the 2012 season yet. Can't buy ticket... can't book a room at their hotels... NOTHING. All it says is come back sometime in February... they MIGHT have something then.

I'm researching which cruise to take my wife on. We have Royal Caribbean future cruise credits to use, so it will be an RCCL cruise, but which one.... hmmm. Looking for an anniversary cruise, but it doesn't have to exactly be on or over the day... but that's what it's for. We'll be 18 this year.

Congrats on 18, and to Don on 19. Extremely jealous of Aulani, but keeping fingers crossed that we'll go when we're 10.

Is there a Disney anniversary gift list, as an alternative to doing modern/traditional?? I'm too lazy to google it right now.

I just now was trying to log in to get my monthly timekeeping records updated (I keep paper records, and then batch enter them, because this timekeeping software SUCKS, and if I leave it open all the time, weird stuff happens - like time entries disappearing). But it won't even let me log in. It says it can't find my account. ***??!!?? So now, I'm on the brink of being in trouble with my boss for not having my time entries updated, and there's not a thing I can do about it until the help folks (who can only be reached by Email) respond.

It immediately seemed strange... so I responded and sure enough she has a "business proposal" she wants me to hear. I am definitely thinking scam... some sort of MLM or the like. But desperate times and all that... so I took her call and I'm meeting her and her partner tonight to get pitched.

If you're interested in staying outside of a Cedar Point resort, there's a hotel that is really close to the main entrance of the park called South Shore Inn.

My wife used to work there part time during her summers off. It's no Hilton, but it's family owned and have reasonable rates.
