Will be curious about your perspective. We get what the media prints - slanted for their advertisers - and not the actual real story. YEsterday, I heard comments that North Korea was attacking the USA. We also have some real idiots in Indiana.
Well, I read an article saying the NK shot off two short ranged missles on Monday (the day Kim Jong Il was announced as being dead), but, honestly, that's nothing really out of the ordinary.
In the almost 4 years I've lived in South Korea, North has done a couple feeble attempts at attacking us (the most prominent being last year and the year before, when they shelled a barely inhabited island in the northern Yellow Sea, and sinking a South Korean Navy ship, in the same sea), but none of those attempts started anything.
I suppose there's always been a bit of a threat that something will break out, but nothing ever really amounts to anything.
Although, I'm sure if there was a Korean equivalent of Fox News, there would be panic in the streets non-stop. (Granted, one of the major tv channels here is owned by the government, but they aren't overtly biased, as far as I can tell)
In other words, my wife and I aren't afraid that anything substantial will happen in the near future.
