Did they ever go through with the plans to make condos above the store?
The store just opened 2 weeks ago.
I don't believe they have started building any condos there (if they are).

Good morning, all.
Had a great weekend (even though I didn't play MW3 at all this weekend.) Saturday was filled with family fun and my nephew's 2nd birthday party. Lots of good, quality family time.
Sunday afternoon, DW met her parents in Terrell, Texas (an hour and a half drive) to drop the kids off to go have quality time with their grandparents this week. They are out of school this week, but DW and I are working - so her parents offered to have them come to their place for the week to have some fun. So we have the house all to ourselves to finish wrapping presents and stuff for Christmas. My in-laws will bring the kids back Friday and they will stay through Monday or Tuesday. I actually get along very well with my in-laws, so it's a GOOD thing.
While DW was doing that, I went to my mom's place (where we are storing Santa gifts) and I did the "some assembly required" on the Power Wheels Barbie Jammin' Jeep. Wow, that took about 2 hours - and I am normally good at putting stuff together. But it is all done now - thank goodness I didn't wait until Christmas Eve to do it... I would have been up all night.
Last night I took DW to the gas station for our Anniversary dinner. Our 3rd year in a row to eat there. It's not just ANY gas station - it is a 5-star dining establishment that happens to be in a gas station. Here is the website. It was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives a few years ago (in fact, the crew was in the DFW area last week and had to stop in to eat there while they were in town.) Also, the Bread Pudding has been featured by Paula Deen.So it is a neat (and delicious) place to celebrate our Anniversary - we have started a tradition with it.
Afterwards, we picked up the movie Crazy Stupid Love to watch. Pretty good chick flick - worth a watch. A couple parts had us ROTFL.
We exchanged Anniversary/Christmas gifts. I got her an Android-based tablet (ASUS Transformer with keyboard dock) and she got me some new headphones I have been wanting (Sennheiser HD280 Pro). We both loved our gifts - something that doesn't always seem to happen.
And I didn't even spend any time with my crack, I mean MW3, addiction. (But I have a feeling I migt get some game time in a few nights this week.)![]()

Wow, I can't believe that its been 2,359 days since I first joined the Dis. Given that this is my 1,000th post, apparently I don't have a whole lot to say for myself.![]()
What I would like to say is thank you. Thank you to this special group of men who have given me more that I can ever give back. You've provided a place to come for support, a place to share joys, and a place to just be. I've been fortunate to meet a few of you in person and I hope that I have only begun to scratch the surface in meeting more of you as I've enjoyed everyone of the DisDad meets I've had. (Even including the 2 hour wait for pizza at Lou's)
This is a very special group and even in ouf hour of conflict, I have been impressed with the way all members have moved on without grudge.
A few things that I have taken away from this group that will always stay with me are the following:
1) Open and respectful exchange of ideas: I don't recall if this was last year or the year prior (and I'm too lazy to look it up) but the discussion about everyone's views on Santa Claus really opened my eyes to the way people can discuss different beliefs without getting nasty. When the topic was first raised I recall thinking, "Here we go" as we head down the path of such topics of strollers, bus riding and school skipping, but everyone involved in the discussion stayed on topic and was very respectful of varying ideologies.
2) Dad is an honored Title: As many of us here talk about trials and tribulations with raising our kids, I can't help but parallel to real life where rarely I find groups of men willing to get into the daily grind of working through family issues they way this group does. Thank you all for this and the support that you all lend to this honored position in life. It is with great pleasure that I can count myself among those called DisDads.
3) Language: This group has also taught me about the various uses of language and the creative ways that we can use our words. Up until a few years ago, I would have thought peanut butter was a spread put on bread, Beverly was a woman's (and soft drink's) name and Nemesis meant motral enemy. As we all know now, Nemesis = good friend, Peanut Butter & Beverly = razafrazzin gobblety-gook. Oh, and thismay or may not be a thumb. (I thought about trying to say something about Zerphonics, but I couldn't do it justice)
So if you're still reading this (I'm guessing not) Thanks to each of you for being part of this great group of Dads and for everyone's contribution to the whole. This group is truly the textbook definition of the whole being greater than the parts.
And without further ado, I will complete my 1,000th post with the following:
If you ever need to improve a food, add either bacon, cheese or chocolate and if you're from Wisconsin and you ever find yourself in a shop with a bacon-cheese-chocolate fudge know that you have found nirvana.
Now pull my finger.
I hope you got battery charging on the power wheels.
The gas station dinner sounds like an awesome tradition.
Any DISdad's use E-readers?
I just bought my wife a Kobo Touch.
I am thinking of getting one myself, but then realized if she buys a book, I can't put it on my reader.
Anyone figure out how to do this?

Not sure how to deal with this on a Kobo Touch. That's one of the benefits of using a Kindle or an iPad. On a Kindle, a purchased book will appear on each device that is tied to the same Amazon.com account. With an iPad, books show up on each device that shares the same AppleID (so my books sync instantly between my iPad and iPhone. I primarily read from the iPad, but it's nice to be able to pick up where I left off on my iPhone if I need to kill some time standing in line or something).

Thanks. Maybe I should quite multi-quoting and increase my post count that way.

A mechanical machine has no business depending on a computer to tell it how to work. All they do is take a perfectly good, working machine and make it junk.
Crud. Beverly. Peanut Butter.
That is all...
To all of the dads in the great plains, I hope you make it through the blizzard they are predicting![]()
This doesn't sound good... Hope it worked out ok...
Smoke detector's beeping...
Kinda like batteries dead indicator, but it's hard wired.
Any experience?
(where is Zerf when you need him...?)
You try resetting the breaker?
