Speaking of pics in the shower we are due for a photo blitz Do we want to do it here on FB or both? I was thinking of new yrs eve... We could all post our midnight(or close to midnight for some of us ) pitures..... what you guys think we are way over due for one!

I am up for another photblitz!!! I miss those...they are a lot of fun.... I prefer doing it on facebook butnot everyone uses that so i would be ok to do it in both places!!! Let me knwo what is decided!!

I am VERY leary about the whole Howard Stern thing...he is so trashy I think and not fit for prime time when children are watching TV and especially for a family oriented type show!!! Who is the fourth judge going to be? I had not heard that or that it was going to move to the East Coast.

They haven't officially announced a fourth yet... but this is where I found the news:

I used to listen to Howard Stern back in my 20's... now, I would not be able to listen to 5 minutes of the same show. I have no need for any "shock jock" now... I'm more of a Glenn Beck type.

I know what you are talking about, but have not heard anything having a visit from the Tag Fairy lately. Seems that fairy likes to stay on the Podcast side of the house. I stopped listening and participating for various reasons, none of which I am willing to share here.

My tag came from the tag fairy but it is from a few years ago.

Personally I'd prefer to do it on here. I don't like putting a lot of stuff on Facebook. Too many friends of friends of friends can see what you put on there and they have a real name to link it to. There are certain people who I know are on Facebook that I don't want to know what I'm doing and especially don't want them to know when I'm not home.

I realize you can change privacy settings there, but I just don't trust facebook, especially with the way they keep changing it and then you have to figure out what is public access and what isn't. In other words, if it is on FB, I won't participate... here I will.

And now you know why I hardly ever put anything on FB.

I do kind of like the concept of Google+ though where you can put certain people into groups and can determine who sees what by group. Anyone have any experience with it?

...Thanks for the pics.... The rooms look really nice and different from the pics I have seen. The PORFQ pics I saw of the rooms were VERY busy... kinda gaudy IMO. DW saw those pics too and said there was no way she would stay in that room. Does each section of PORFQ have different themed rooms?

How long of a walk is it from POR to PORFQ? Is it a pain to head from one to the other to swim or see BOB or get beignets?

Not far at all. They have a walkway between the resorts. It is actually a nice walk around the water.

um Polar Plunge is coming up.Are we having a Dis Dad meet up?...

No plunging is required,they have a to chicken to plunge shirt for people raising $50 and not plunging.or you can just show up and support the crazy people that are plunging.
Its in a state park so alcoholic beverages are not permitted.So I say, Red solo cup,I fill you up,Proceed to party

Any Dad within driving range of this event is invited to join up and plunge with me and the team or just come out and support a good cause(and of course have a meet up) I will have a tent set up and be doing some cooking(think porkroll and bacon).

OK, that sounds better.

We could also do it here. It is going to plunge into the high 50's tomorrow morning. Would that work?

Facebook jumped on the "group" bandwagon when Google+ came out. You can actually take your friends and divide them into "lists". This allows you to post to certain lists rather than to the "public".

I have lists on FB for DisDads, School friends, family etc.. Makes it real convenient if I post something to one group, I don't have to worry about anyone else seeing it.

It looks like AB and the Royal themed rooms in the Mansions are the last to be updated. Only about a 1/4 of the AB rooms have been updated. Do you know if its just the trundle rooms in AB that are keeping double beds? I thought I remember reading that it was actually hard to get a trundle room in AB because it's one of the few moderate rooms that sleeps 5. If only those rooms are keeping doubles it seems like unless you specifically requested one of those rooms you'd be much more likely to wind up with a room with queen beds in it.

I'd say that's probably true, but I also think that if you want to be sure you get a room with queen beds, you're better off either requesting a room with queens or just requesting the Mansions (since they all have queens). You never know when the capacity shuffle will result in your being assigned an Alligator Bayou room, because that's what's there when you're checking in. Heck, a room assigner might even think that they're doing your a favor, since the rooms are slightly larger. I always figure it's better to ask for what you want up front.

I have not used Google + enough to get familiar with it...I might need a tutorial on that too!!! Are we noticing a theme here? I am not real computer savvy anymore like when I was younger LOL I have turned into my Dad!!

Steve - when you're getting ready to post something, next to the "post" button that you click on there is a drop down that defaults to "public". If you choose this, it will allow you to choose a specific "list" of people or a specific person even.

It's pretty easy actually - it just takes time to setup the lists themselves.

Why yes, I have been blessed by the Tag Fairies twice. Each one has a different color tag. They are very shy and need to be coaxed to come see different forums, but alas, I am not sure where they usually hang out. I believe bribes work, but they must be subtle bribes, try something with chocolate.

Excuse me, I have been tagged thrice, once in blue, green, and wine (burgundy).
