DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

I had noticed the close start times when I had looked at the times, but at that point in time hadn't known that you 2 never got a chance to meet. Sorry you 2 didn't get to meet.

I just finished 30 mins on the treadmill tonight, so I am proud of myself. I have a plan layed out for how many mins each day I want to walk, and I met all 4 days this week. Now I just have to stick with it! I have been weighing myself every day, even though I know I shouldn't, but tomorrow is my first official weekly weigh-in since I started following weight watchers again, and I have been really good this week following the plan, so it should be a good week.

I'll report back tomorrow. You all have been my inspiration to get back into watching my weight and exercising, so thank you. I'm starting to feel better about myself already.

Way to go! you guys are doing a great job.
I am having a problem staying motivated..by the time i get home from student teaching, all i want to do is sleep..I have been pushing the water and watching what i eat, so i guess thats better than nothing..i hope things start to settle down soon because i was seeing an improvement!

I effectively gorged myself on deep fried oreos and a horrendous dip because I had a rough night. :sad2:  I wish I could blame my mom for providing the food, but I'm pretty sure I could have made the decision on my own.

Congratulations to you all for keeping some willpower!

I have never eaten deep fried oreo's, but they sure sound good!

Oh they are, but they're TERRIBLE for you (obviously) :rotfl: A local restaurant serves a dessert called a Deep Fried Twinkie. On the side of that twinkie in the presentation are 2 deep fried oreos. The paper recently ran recipes for both things, and they are excellent!

Well, I'm happy to report that I met my exercise goal for the week! That's huge for me! I'm hoping to keep it up again this next week!

Alan threw a surprise birthday party for me last night. It was really sweet of him, as I told him not to do anything for my 40th, since he took me to WDW. He didn't listen, and threw this party that invited all my family, his family, and several of our good friends. He had set up a nacho bar, and I was able to be very good, by just enjoying the shredded chicken, cheese, olives, sour cream and salsa without the chips. I only ate a very little, since my good friend brought her 3 month old baby girl, and promptly let me hold her. I wasn't about to give up holding her for mere food! So, I didn't eat much!!!

The cake looked delicious, and I allowed myself a bite. Yummy! But much too sweet! When the party was over, we divided the cake up between everyone there, and kept only 4 pieces for our kids. So, all that cake is gone, and I don't have any temptation! I can't believe I was so good!!!!

Great job Glynis! I'm glad you were able to fight off temptation, and get all your exercise in. Good for you.

I am happy to report I am actually down 5 lbs this week. I know that is a lot in 1 week, but I often have a huge loss the first week on a diet. Now I just have to keep counting my weight watchers points, and not give in to temptation myself. I will think of you and all that you have accomplished if I am tempted to give in.

Way to go. :thumbsup2

Great job Glynis & Ellen!

It is hard fighting those temptations. A lady at work makes homemade cookies & brings them to work. I loved eating these, but I have been good & stayed away. I have not had a chocolate chip cookie for about a month now. When I reach my 1st goal of 10 pounds I am going to treat myself to a tall glass of milk & cookies!

I think that is a PERFECT treat for when you meet your goal!

Well, i have decided that i will do these little by little to get used to student teaching, plus all that work, and exercising.
My goal for this week is...8 glasses of water a day, get back into charting food, use the ab lounge at least 4 days ...
hopefully i can do this and then add more in next week!

You can do it Jen :cheer2:

I am still not drinking enough water, but I am trying.

I have had a good weekend I think. So hopefully this weeks weigh-in will be good if my TOM doesn't strike between now & Tuesday.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well....keep up the good work.

Good job on the 5lbs Ellen & getting back in the swing of things. :thumbsup2:

I need some help from Deb or Janet (or anyone else, really).

I want to make some birthday cupcakes for dinner tonight, using Deb's recipe, and I can't remember how to do it. Can someone help me? I've got the cake mix and the diet soda. Help me with the rest, someone!

If it's the weight watchers recipe then you just mix one can of soda with one cake mix and bake. Not sure on the baking time, but I would think you can go by the box and check with a toothpick.

Hope that helps.

Wow it sounds you guys are all doing very good!

Ive been sick with the stomach flu for 4 days:sad1: but today Im back and ready to get moving again!(I lost 4lbs:) ...to bad its only water weight!:lmao: )

I was thinking of trying to train to run a 5k hear in Mich. this summer. How far schould I run every day to be abel to do this?

Right now I only run the commercials (on the tread mill) Ive always wanted to do a 5k and I think it would be a great rewarding experience to loose this extra 25 lbs and be abel to run a 5 k.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks Nettii

Yes this is it! Let us know how they turn out for you. I bought a cherry cake & a chocolate mix & I am going to use diet vanilla Dr Pepper!

Congratulations on the weight loss!
