DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

WTG Deb! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I weighed in tonight. I had my best weigh in ever. It seems that
weight.gif
may actually be paying off. I lost 3.2 lbs last week. That makes me 140 lbs on their scale which means I only have those last 10 lbs to lose. When I got home tonight I had a backache, but still did a few situps and pushups as I didn't want the day to pass without doing something. That is a huge accomplishment for me. Chris has not been doing well on the exercise front. Oh well, I'll look good at my reunion and on our trip even if he doesn't reach his goal. Thank you guys for keeping me honest.

Deb

I know that it is easy to put off weigh in, but I find that I do better if I have a few ups and downs. It really makes me stay more focused. I know that I could have easily made some bad decisions today, but knowing that I have to weigh in tonight has kept me on track.

Deb
I didnt think of that...good thinking though..i will weigh in on Tuesdays no matter what!

Congrats Jen and Deb on the 3+ pound weight losses. That is awesome.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Janet- Congrats on your loss as well.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

If you didn't lose or if you are falling off the bandwagon just jump right back on and make healthier choices in the future. You can't change the past, only the present and the future.

I'm down 1.2 pounds for the week and I still am not up to my 5 day a week excercise program:banana:   I'll keep adding and working on it.

Get out there and get moving.

Becky you have such a wonderful attitude :goodvibes

Congrats on your loss as well :cheer2:

Good loss, Jen! Way to keep on track. I totally forgot to weigh in this morning so will have to do mine tomorrow. I can't believe I forgot as I was anxious to see the results of week 1.

Great job Janet, Jenn, Becky & Deb on the losses. :thumbsup2: Ya'll are doing so well.

Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow Tia. pixiedust:

I stayed the same this week, which I am ok with...at least it isn't a gain.

Gotta get on the excercise though...had a rough start to the week--migraine & GI bug. Will do better next week.

Have a great rest of the week & remember to just keep swimming :fish:!!!!

Hope you start feeling better Melanie :wizard:

I had a doctors appointment today. My PCP said that they are confident that there is nothing serious going on. They feel that they have thoroughly checked my organs and the new conclusion is that it may be muscular in nature. He wants me to continue exercising and add stretching to my workout regimine. We also discussed my weight loss and how much more I should lose. I told him I thought 130 lbs would be ideal for me. He feels that 120-125 lbs would be a much healthier weight for me :scared1: I'm going to figure out my BMI and go from there. He said a healthy BMI is between 18 and 25. Overall he said my health is great and he hopes that between the new matress and exercise my back may straighten out on its own. Here's hoping. He also prescribed a sleeping pill and thinks that may give me better quality sleep which should help everything :)

Deb

ETA: My BMI is currently 24 which means I am on the very high side of normal. It appears that I should weigh between 110 lbs and 140 lbs so I guess I have more work to do.

You can still do it, Deb! I know it's hard to have more added to your plans, but I don't think you'll have any problems at all with it! Many fingers crossed that the mattress and exercise end your back pains.

Feel better, Melanie! I know that the exercise will be easier once you get past the bug.

How do you figure out your BMI?

ETA: I found it. Mine is 27.1 which says slightly overweight. It says my ideal weight is between 108 & 132 lbs! I looked like a bone when I weighed 125, I think I will stick to my goal of 130.

Hi everybody!!! It's great to see so many people posting here! I'm so impressed with all the weight loss going on! Way to go, Janet, Jennifer, Deb, Melanie, Becky, Anne Marie, Tia, etc.! You guys are impressing me so much with your attitudes!

WDW was fabulous!! I was so worried about the half! I don't mind telling you that I didn't think I would be able to finish! However, I managed to finish in 3 hours and 27 minutes. I even have the Donald Duck medal to prove it! I was so proud of myself! It was an experience that, next to marriage and having my kids, is the proudest of my life. I really feel like I can do anything, now!

My husband, Alan, did the half too, even though he really hadn't trained much for it. I worried about him, but he finished as well! It really made him want to do more training.

We had some wonderful meals at WDW, too! Our favorite was WCC. That was the night before the half. I ordered the meatloaf, and ate only about a third of the serving. It was so delicious!!!!! I took the rest home, and was able to eat some of it in the morning before the half, and the rest after we were done.

We stayed offsite, and had a full kitchen. That made it so much easier to be good at eating choices. For breakfasts I had sugar free oatmeal with skim milk. We made hamburgers for dinners, and ate mostly CS for lunches. We ate at Cantina de San Angel at Epcot, and it was really good! Alan and I also shared a chicken flatbread at Seasons that day. Yummo!

I was so worried about all the eating that we did while we were gone, and I really didn't want to weigh in yesterday morning. I did, though, and was so excited to see an actual loss of half a pound from the day we left for Orlando!!! Guess all that walking, plus the half marathon really helped me out!

I'm back on track with the exercising, as well. I did 35 minutes on the treadmill yesterday, along with situps before bed. I'm planning on another half hour (or longer) on the treadmill this afternoon. I can't wait for it to warm up some so I can go back outside for my walking!

Keep up the good work everyone! I'm so proud of all of us!!!!!

You are right, Becky! It is time for me to jump back on! I'll be joining all of you again and dusting off my loss clippies (and my NordicTrack).

Hello! Well, Kyle and I started eating right again yesterday. No cheating, great choices, etc.

And today I haven't eaten a darn thing since a granola bar at 5am because I have the nasty stomach bug that's apparently an epidemic around here. Blech!

Congrats to all of you who are losing! I pretty much stayed right where I have been for the last 6 months. That's frustrating to me since we trained for the half, etc and didn't really lose anything... but at least I'm lighter than when I started last January, even if just a few pounds!

I hope to post more regularly soon. Keep on keeping on! :goodvibes

 Hi, Jennifer! It's great to see you here. I've missed you.

CONGRATS to you and Kyle both on the half-marathon!

I hope that you feel better soon!
