DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

I got my exercise in yesterday :thumbsup2 That makes 5 out of 6 days since Jan1. It looks beautiful out so a walk might be in order for today. I can't wait for Jennifer and Glynis to come back and give us the full report. It might have been so exciting.

Can I just say that I am damn proud of myself today! We fixed fried chicken for lunch as one sister and one BIL have both been asking for it. I grilled some chicken tenders for Kristi as she doesn't like chicken on the bone. I also made them for me. So, I ate grilled chicken, a bunch of peas and a small, by OH SO TASTY, portion of mashed potatoes and gravy. When I added everything to my food tracker I came in with a very good count on lunch. The potatoes and gravy were so good and one of my all time favorites, but I was good about having just a little to enjoy the taste, but not ruin my fat and calories for the day. :woohoo:

WAY TO GO!! you should be proud of yourself!!!! great food choice when there were other temptations! Isnt the food tracker a great help? I love using sparkpeople!!

Well today almost ended up differently..I dont know what was wrong with me, but i didnt want to exercise. I kept making excuses and telling myself i could do it tomorrow. Finally, i said i didnt want to come here and post and say i didnt do it, and there was really no excuse not to..So i went and worked out for 35 min. I feel alot better t hat i did do it though!!

I have been tracking calories and have been doing really well with that..i like being able to see how many calories are in each meal. Another day with no soda/chips! The chips part is much harder than the soda--i love my Doritoes!!
I decided that i will weigh myself on Tuesdays--that will help keep me accountable over the weekend..im interested to see if there is any loss after the first week back on track!

Looks like everyone is doing a great job of keeping on track! I have been doing good while at work. We have a Subway next to us & I have been eating the sandwiches with 5 grams of fat.

Jen you & I will both be weighing in on Tuesday :cool1:

Good luck to everyone weighing in tomorrow :cheer2:

Would responsible chip eating mess you up? Have you seen the 100 calorie packs from Nabisco? They are on sale at Target this week for $1.66 per 6 count box. Each bag is 100 calories and the chips are usually baked. I saw Nacho cheese Doritos and my sister said that they have Cool Ranch too. I picked up the Sun Chips tonight because I love those! The little packs make for a good snack for me and let me have some of the things I love without blowing it.

Great job exercising!!!!

I'm making a slow start on exercising so far, but working toward it. I did go pick up a new pedometer tonight and plan to start there. I also got an armband for my MP3 player and some small hand weights for my stength exercises. Loved not spending much for some little things that will help me out. Tomorrow, I am loading up the MP3 player with it's first few songs and heading out for a walk.

I didnt know they had chips in the 100 calorie pack...I just got cheezit crackers that are 150 calories a pack, which is good for a quick snack...I also bought goldfish crackers.

After Feb 1 , i may be able to try those chips...my DIS friend Kim has me on a challenge for no chips til then!
Its worked so far, and im thinking about making myself a challenge every month..not sure though..

Sounds like a good start! Enjoy your walk tomorrow!!

It sounds like you are all doing so well.

I will also be weighing in on Tuesday, we'll see how I've done then. I managed to work out 5 out of 7 days which was a little less than I had hoped for, but a whole lot better than my previous attempts. I think I'll do a workout video this morning and get it over with as I have to work tonight.

Deb

Hi everybody....I am home today sick. Blah.
Sounds like everyone is doing so good. I am so proud of everyone. I haven't gotten on the excercise like I have wanted to....maybe this week I will do better. My ususal weigh-in day at WW is Tuesday, but this week I have to work late night clinic so I won't be weighing until Wed.
Good luck everybody that weighs tomorrow.
Can't wait to hear from Jenn & Glynnis...thanks for the update on them by the way Becky.

I did a workout video this morning. Colby and Logan did some of it with me. I'm glad to have it done early in the day. Tomorrow is weigh in and I'm really hoping to have taken off what I gained over the holidays and then some

I weighed in this morning & I have lost 2 lbs! My goal is to lose 10 by March 1st, but any extra off will be welcomed :) I am back in the 50's :woohoo:

Well, i ended up out to dinner with my grandma before her surgery last night, i stayed within my calories, but nkow the weighin wouldnt be good, so were pushing that off til tomorrow! Evgerything is still going okay--no soda/chips, at l east 8 glasses of water, staying in calories, and exercising every other day. I am just relaxing now and will exercise today, then i am headed to a friends to help her to revise her final paper for an online course.

I will post tomorrow how my weigh in goes!

That's great. It is such a great reinforcement to see a loss. I know that it makes me work harder.

I know that it is easy to put off weigh in, but I find that I do better if I have a few ups and downs. It really makes me stay more focused. I know that I could have easily made some bad decisions today, but knowing that I have to weigh in tonight has kept me on track.

Yeah!!! Way to go on your first week. Keep up the great job!

I weighed in tonight. I had my best weigh in ever. It seems that

may actually be paying off. I lost 3.2 lbs last week. That makes me 140 lbs on their scale which means I only have those last 10 lbs to lose. When I got home tonight I had a backache, but still did a few situps and pushups as I didn't want the day to pass without doing something. That is a huge accomplishment for me. Chris has not been doing well on the exercise front. Oh well, I'll look good at my reunion and on our trip even if he doesn't reach his goal. Thank you guys for keeping me honest.
