DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

So I'm down another 1.4 pounds this past week. I am down 5.2 pounds since November 22 and I am super proud of myself for losing and not gaining this holiday season.:thumbsup2 I did have some gains throughout that time period but overall had a loss.:woohoo: :woohoo:

That is awesome. I wish I had your willpower. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 to Everyone. It looks like we are all moving in the right direction.

I have to admit that I almost did not work out tonight, but I knew that you'd all ask so I went and did it even though my back was bothering me. I am so glad that I did instead of using my back as an excuse. As far as the doctors can tell me there is no reason not to exercise therefore it really should only help. So I have exercised 3 days this week :thumbsup2 I am very proud of myself and I'm pretty sure that I'll be sore tomorrow.

We were given a new digital scale for Christmas that measures to the tenth of a pound. It is dead on with the scales at weight watchers so it should be easier for me to track now. Before we had the old style dial scale and it was not all that accurate. :thumbsup2 SIL bought it at Kohls and it is Healt O Meter brand.

Deb-
AWESOME job exercising when you didnt want to! just be careful with your b ack!!! great job!

Thanks Anne Marie, I will have to look for a digital. I don't think the one I have is very accurate(hopefully it is weighing me to heavy lol).

I just have a regular digital scale (weighs in .5 lbs) which I like so you can see even half a lb loss. When I used to frequent the ww's board everyone there raved about the tanita (sp?)

Thanks Deb & great job on the exercise! Hope your back is feeling better :wizard:

I still ate the junk just tasted a little bit of everything and didn't eat a whole piece of cake, pie, etc. At parties and events, I made sure to start with a plate full of veggies and healthy stuff and then would add the not so good stuff. Or I would eat a healthy snack ahead of time and then wasn't as hungry to munch on the junk.

My old scale was weighing me several pounds under what I actually weighed. When I bought my new digital scale that measures to .2 of a pound, there was a difference of about 7 pounds, so I had to relose those pounds.;) I adjusted my starting weight to reflect the difference as well, but it still could be more or less than what I am saying it was. All I know is I have lost something.

So how is everyone doing today? I am staying on track with my eating, hoping to see at least a 1 pound loss when I weigh myself. But if I don't, I will try not to get discouraged & I will plug along.

I tried some sugar free chocolate pudding last night & yuck! It didn't taste bad while eating it, but it left a bad after taste :scared: I won't be buying that anymore.

Hi ya'll....I walked my dog about a mile tonight after I got home. We walked FAST..so that counts as excercise. Yippee...I got my first excercise of the New Year outta the way.

I only weight at work & at WW so I am no help with the scale question. Both scales are digital & the scale at work weighs me about a pound heavier than WW..so I use it on weigh in day before I go just to see how I have done for the week. I try not to weigh more than once a week---too much fluctuation can make you nuts.

What about the 1/2 marathoners????Anybody know when they are leaving or have they already left?

Glynis left today. I wish I could be there to cheer her on!

Yeah on the walking!

I took a brisk walk today. I walked 30 minutes in 35 degree temps so I was walking fast just to keep warm. I did ok with my diet though dinner at the restaurant may have put me a bit over on points, but definitely not over the 35 extra points so I'm still in great shape for the week. 4 days into 2007 and 4 days of exercise Woo Hoo

I did good today too...even went to Wendy's with Dana for lunch. I got the mandarin orange salad, no noodles & only 1/2 packet on sliced almonds with reduced fat ranch. It was very good.

Way to go!!! Sounds like great holiday season results to me! Congrats on all of your hard work.

You guys all seem to be doing great!!:cool1: :cheer2: Keep it up!

Today, i had 8 glasses of water....tracked my food and stayed within the recommended calories....exercised for about 40 minutes.....stayed away from soda and chips!

I will most likely weigh myself tomorrow or Sunday to see if theres any difference from when i started..even if theres not, i will keep going

Good morning! So how is everyone doing? So far I am staying on track with my eating & I am drinking more water. My trips to the bathroom can attest to that lol

Yesterday at work was a little trying, as there is so much junk food. But I did good & only ate what I brought. The cupcakes I made are quickly disappearing & not by me. My boys love them, so I know I can make these & not worry about them going to waste!

The Sparkpeople website is really helping me, I am so glad I decided to take advantage of it this time. Being able to track my calories is a big plus for me :thumbsup2

My weigh in is Tuesday, I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Any News from the 1/2 marathoners? Inquiring minds want to know :goodvibes :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Chris and I are staying on track with our diets. We took yesterday off from exercising as we had done 4 straight and I am still feeling it. We plan to lift tonight. I'm actually starting to look forward to it. I still want to make it short, but at least I'm not talking myself out of it.

Keep up the Great Work

So far so not too bad. I have eaten breakfast (and a healthy one) every morning this week. I probably need to cut it back in calories in the long run, but I've been falling in pretty well as is. So far I am 2 for 3 on my water drinking on the on the 3rd I still had 8 glasses, just missing my 10 glass goal. I have even managed to exercise one day. I am still ending up and the high end of my calorie goals, but by tracking everything I can see what is sending me almost over the edge and know what I need to cut back on or limit.

I did some investigating on our half marathoners, I just left a message for Glynis and have not heard back from her.

Jennifer and Kyle did well, they finished in a little over 3 hours. Jennifer has been having knee problems, besides that they are having a good trip. They relaxed a little after the half and Illuminations was just getting ready to start in the background, I could here it on the phone. It is very crowded and they sat there for an hour waiting for it to start, it was about 85 degrees out today. She said the rooms were pretty much all sold out. They are heading back to Ohio tomorrow, as it was just a quick trip for them.

I bought a digital scale today & it says I weigh 3 lbs. more  I am hoping this is because I weighed myself fully clothed & at night. I will wait till Tuesday to see what it says then. Keeping my fingers crossed!
