I have lost 4.5 pounds and am hoping now that I have a bona fide diet plan the weight will come off more rapidly.
The months of January and February are brutal at work for me. I work 14-16 hour days including the time I am working at home these two months. I have 84 students participating in Junior Music Festival at the end of February and 18 of them are performing piano concerti. I am the "orchestra" for those performers so I have to practice too! In addition to that, I have 93 students submitting compositions for ajudication on the state level this week so I am editing and double checking that everything is reight with those. So, if you don't see me much, or I don't post, please know that I am here and I am participating. I am so proud of all of us and our "stick-to-itiveness."
Goal - 60 lbs
Progress - 4.5 lbs

1. Throw out the junk food - I found some I dont like, as a mom I do keep snack cakes for lunches, I found brand (Lil Debbies) and kinds (star crunch) that I do not like, so its not tempting to me!! I also never buy chips!! OK I buy pringles - for the kids, and hot cheetos (eww) but the kids love them, and they dont tempt me!! Sodas - I agree its hard to give up... but I have so far - and I'm trying to add Splenda, doing a 50/50 for my hot tea in the morning. Some morning program had some doctor on saying its the corn syrup or the sugars used in sodas that block some enzyme that we crave but dont feel full, always makes us hungry and overeat... not sure if its true, but it motivated me not to even drink Diet Soda... drinking that water is hard!! I bought some of those crystal lite to go to dump in my water bottle... for a change up once in a while...
2. Healthy snacks... I need to buy some grapefruit!! I used to get the no sugar added grapefruit in a can, so it was easy to grab and go!!
3. Exercise in the Morning!! WTG _ what a great motivation to others here!! I cant get to the tv in the morning - too many kids around!! lol BUT like everyone else, still trying to find my time to exercise!!
4. Discovery Health Diet and exercise - I bought the exercise ball at Target - I think that's a wonderful investment, its so easy on my back doing crunches now!! If you want a dvd to help with other exercises, try the "Core Secrets"!! Other than that, I do use the menu as a "suggestion" mainly!! lol
5. I put my pants on - they FIT!! YEAHI havent been in pants since my surgery end of October - I've been living in sweats (and maybe denial!! lol) I got on the scale - Down 10#'s What a relief... 40 to go!!

6. One day at a time. My goal today is exercise on the eliptical, and get those crunches done!!

Do you have a podiatrist or chiropractor? My DH is a podiatrist (but I am not, so take my advice with a grain of salt, please!). Oftentimes leg pains are caused by minor deformities or misalignments of the foot (like being too flat-footed, for example). If this is the root cause of your calf pain and tightening, custom-molded orthotics (available from all podiatrists and many chiropractors) for your shoes can keep your foot in the proper position when you're walking and this may alleviate your pain.ellenbenny said:I don't know what the tightening up is due to, but I have had it intermittently ever since I was in college at 18 years old.

I have flat feet, which causes plantar fasciitis (heel spur pain), but the orthotics in my sneakers have helped me to stay pain-free for over a year now. I know your situation is different, but getting your feet looked at may help you get to the root cause of your calf pain.
Foot alignment problems work their way up and can lead to leg, knee, hip, and even back problems.
Another thing to check if it's not your feet is your levels of potasium and calcium. If these two minerals aren't in the proper balance, you can get leg cramps.

I threw out this morning a chocolate cake, candy valentine hearts and 3 half eaten bags of donuts gems! That gotta help! I di eat 2 small pieces of the french toast cassrole, but that is almost gone now!
