DDA Chapter 9

My kids go to their dad's on Friday and then Sat. they leave for WDW. I'm already starting to go into a funk about it. Mainly because it's WDW. If it were anywhere else I wouldn't mind nearly as badly, but WDW is my turf, our happy place. How dare he encroach. Then on top of that I'm worrying....plane crash, someone getting lost, drowning. I know I know, it's over the top, but trust me, he doesn't have a great record for paying attention. I don't like not being in control. I'm going to miss them terribly.

 I'm sure this is very hard! I hope it passes quickly for you!

Hang in there...

I know it is hard to let go of some of the control...but in the very long run...your kids will be in a better place that their father takes such an interest in them and takes them on vacation etc. It will make them more rounded adults....

My kids resent the crap out of the fact that Jeff never takes them on vacation etc.

Stephanie are you ready for the Magic meet? I just got an email from them, which reminds me to print my tickets. I wish I could but I have no tickets to print as I never got off a waiting list.

Although I will probably be hitting Hersheypark on Sunday.

I hope you and Terry have a great time.

Thanks for the well wishes on the interview. I went to Craig's List figuring it couldn't hurt and I could decide which jobs to try for and which to stay away from. There are a lot of them to stay away from....lots of work and a lot less pay (and I get paid diddily).

Robyn-sorry for the soccer drama and I'll be thinking of your family.

Tammi-I agree with Kristine, I know it's harder because it's "your" territory but at least he is taking them on vacation. My dad took us on two vacations...one we nearly ended up on milk cartons (he was court ordered not to take us out of Colorado) and the other was to WDW. That's it in 12 years of divorce. It sounds like Alyssa is very attached to Bob...if you've got to be attached to somebody he seems like a great candidate. :lovestruc

I realized tonight that we haven't heard from Beth....has anybody heard from her about her appt. yesterday??

my baby is headed to New York right now:sad1: We had a massive fight this afternoon....I'm going to blame it on no A/C. We worked it out but I hate fights.

She has strict orders if they are anywhere near the World of Disney Store to go in for me. :goodvibes

They are going with the family that their dad lives with. Mom, dad and son. My kids resent the mom, especially Alyssa, as she says that they have to do whatever Miss Pam wants to do. Nicholas does like having the other boy around, but Alyssa can't stand it, as they are mean to her (according to her  ). Of course, Nicholas goes through that when Bethany is here with us. I would like to see their dad and them go somewhere just the 3 of them. I think they would get much more quality time. But I guess this is better than nothing.

Jennifer - I'm loving your blog and pictures. You can really tell how much they've grown when you compare the one week pictures with the one month. Let me ask you...are they on a schedule at night, meaning if one wakes up does the other? I can't imagine getting up with one, then falling back to sleep, only to get up with the other a short time later. It was hard enough doing that with one!

Maybe some day he will do it on his own.....

but then liker I said, I am still waiting for Jeff to take them...I think the only way it will happen is if he finds some chick who will plan something out for him...and for some reason...I don't see that happening any time soon

That's just it. He won't do anything unless someone holds his hand and makes him. And he is definitely a follower, not a leader, which is why Alyssa doesn't like the fact that she has to do what Pam says. Of course, that was my roll for years, now he's just got some other woman doing it. I just hope that whomever he decides to be with is good to our children.

I hear you....

with Jeff's high expectations...I think he will end up a lonely old man...and I do sort of feel bad for him...thankfully it usually passes quickly!! :rotfl2:

I'm heading to bed. Thanks for all of the advice. Tomorrow I have my very first mammo. OUCH!

Theresa - sorry about the fight. I know it sucks.

They ALWAYS eat together. Always. We continue with the every 3 hour feeds during the day, but at night we wait for "them" to wake up. Depending on how long they go, it might be one or both that wakes up on their own. If only one wakes up, it's tough luck for the other one... they get forced to eat, too! ;) I think I would go insane if we fed twins on demand! ::yes::

I hope it's not too bad! :goodvibes

That must be tough for you, Tammi! Do you have lots of things planned for the weekend to keep you occupied so worrying will be kept at bay most of the time? I am free and willing to take up some of your time... :goodvibes

Robyn - Having another baby in your family does have good and bad points doesn't it? I hope it works out best for all involved.

Theresa - I had never heard of an email interview until Kathrin's round of interviews last winter. She seemed to think it was a way to weed out applicants without having to make face-to-face time in the place of business. In fact, a lot of her preliminary contact with most of the companies she ultimately interviewed with was handled by email and attachments. I hope the outcome of your interview is as good as hers.

Thanks. I love being amongst other mom's who understand all those crazy worries.

To top it all off, Bob was over tonight and we had dinner and game night. Two games of Scene It and one of Pictionary. Lately Alyssa has become very attached to him. Maybe it's because Bethany hasn't been around. :confused3 Anyway, he said goodbye to them and have a great trip and all (he won't see them again until after they get back) and left. So when I was putting Alyssa to bed she comes up to me crying her little eyes out, saying she doesn't want Bob to leave and she is going to miss him...blah blah blah. Then she wants to call him. So he has to try and settle her down over the phone. Sheesh. Too much drama in my life!

It sounds like Alyssa is very attached to Bob...if you've got to be attached to somebody he seems like a great candidate. :lovestruc

Poor little thing! Bob has made a place in her heart as well as yours. Theresa said it so well! I do hope John provides them with a good vacation that is stress free for all of you.

When does Bethany return? That has to be hard for Bob too!

I got the same email, Becky. And I was never even on the waiting list! :rotfl:
