alright headed to bed. Imy ear has stoped hurting for now. So I will play it by ear about the Dr.

I like the places Samantha visits and the tips she gives, but for some reason, her laugh just grates on my nerves. But I sure would love to travel with her for all the perks she gets!!!

I saw that show and once was enough for me too.

She doesn't come across as sincere. She drives me crazy. I wish they would get a different host that has more personality.

BBQ RULES
We are about to enter the summer and BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity, as it's the only type of cooking a 'real' man will do, probably because there is an element of danger involved.

When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:
Routine...

(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill.

Here comes the important part:
(4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.
More routine....

(5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
(6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.
Important again:
(7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.
More routine....

(8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.

(9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.
And most important of all:
(10) Everyone PRAISES and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

(11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed 'her night off.' And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women....

When Life gets you down
Just Breathe
And Dance

So true, so true!!! :lmao:

Oh no! That is so weird..i thought Banana Boat made a good sunscreen but I guess not. Hope the kids are ok...call their customer line (# on the bottle) & let them know. Maybe something wrong with the whole batch of 50????

The kids seem to be ok. It's mostly on their legs and faces. They were all wearing swim shirts, so backs and shoulders were protected. I did get some stuff called ICE. It's aloe vera with lidocaine. Bright blue stuff and it really works to take the sting out.

Please keep the Reider family in your prayers. They (the children, 5 of them ages 22-30) are friends of mine since high school. Their mother died last August, and I just got news that Katie, the oldest (who I recorded music with through HS) passed away this morning. She's been battling a brain tumor (non-malignant, but the head doesn't have any extra space, so even non-malignant tumors can cause complications/death just by occupying space) for a while now, but at the end of June everyone thought she was on the verge of a full recovery. Her tumor had shrunk enough to be removed surgically, so they scheduled the removal as well as reconstructive surgery for August 7. Theoretically, at that point she would be in the clear.... but today, a hemorrhage recurred that wasn't able to be stopped. She has 2 sons, ages 3 and 1.:sad1:

You can check out her story, hear her music, etc as well as a really touching 'trailer' here.

So tragic! They are definitely in my prayers.

Hope Chanon does not mind me posting this, but her grandfather passed away Saturday.

Chanon you & your family are in my thoughts
Chanon, I'm so sorry to hear this.:grouphug: :grouphug:

Good morning DDA!

I have a meeting with my team 2-1/2 hours away today. My boss is up from Lansing so he'll be driving with me. I'm going to show him some of the sites - the Porcupine Mountains and some waterfalls.

He is much better. Thanks for asking. He still coughs every once in awhile, in the morning and after eating/drinking milk products. It's hard to eliminate them completely. He just did his last breathing treatment. I still have many vials for an 'as needed' basis.

I am glad that Nicholas is on the mend! :)

How very sad. They are in my prayers.

Jennifer, good thoughts for your friend's family! How terrible!

The zoo was great and the Shrine of the Sun was fun...we've never done it before.

We also saw the newest Veggie Tales movie....at Focus on the Family. It was nice to not have a set schedule.

It sounds like you had a nice time! DS used to love Veggie Tales. :goodvibes

More window replacements on tap for today. I think we got lucky yesterday because it really wasn't that bad or disruptive. The living room and dining room each have one entire wall of windows so that will be more complicated than what they did yesterday.

Princess has swimming lessons this morning. I hope the guys arrive before I have to leave for her class. If not I guess she will be late!

Wow -- her story is amazing. What a brave woman! Sending prayers for her family.

I hope Nicholas and Lucy are feeling better today.

Elizabeth -- I hope the windows go in without complications.

I have PT later, the boys have swimming lessons and Andrew has baseball practice tonight. Have a good day everyone! :)

That sounds like a good way to mix a little fun time into work, Vicki! Enjoy!
