Thanks!

How are you feeling? All packed?

Im feeling okay--I got alot done today so im hoping to have a lowkey day tomrorwo so i can rest up. I am pretty much all packed, just have to add a few last minute things on saturday morning. Still has not hit me that I leaev on saturday!

Jennifer,
I just looked at your most recent pictures of the girls....so precious! They look so cute in their 4th of July dresses.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Anne Marie, it won't take long to cook, depending on how well done you want it. I never cook steaks inside, always out on the grill, so I'm just guessing, but I'd say 5 or so minutes on each side. How thick it is will influence cooking time as well. Leave the oven door cracked too. Make sure you take it out of the fridge and bring to room temp before cooking too. After it's done, let stand about 5 minutes before cutting.

Random question, why leave the oven door cracked?

My DH could use a bit of DDA power next Tuesday. He has to have a biopsy of his prostate. His PSA (blood test) was up .75 from a year ago which they say is the trigger for a biopsy and they had the test redone and it was up another .75 in just the couple of weeks. His Dad had prostate cancer and had his removed at age 63. DH had a biopsy a few years ago and they didn't find anything so hopefully it will be the same this time too.

You've got it! It is definitely good that he is diligent about the screening!

Resting tomorrow sounds like a great plan. It usually doesn't hit me til I see my first palm tree. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Cause the book says to.....I'm afraid of my broiler though so I've never actually used it.

Thanks! I'm home now and see that the "history" on my internet usage is all about prostate cancer so I'm sure he's worried too.

OK....off to do laundry and make a white nightgown.

Ahh, I see -- just for the broiler. We use the broiling pan, but not on the broil setting. :rotfl: I've never done that either. We cook our steaks on a grill as well, or not at all. Thanks for the clarification!

Here is my public service announcement for the day:

Be VERY careful to read the label when you buy cookies. The cookies might LOOK soft in the picture, but when you get them home you might notice the package actually says "crispy" cookies. This is code for "this cookie will explode into 4 million crumbs and spread them over a 3 foot radius if you attempt to bite into it". Just so you know.

Elizabeth,
Will you have internet access while you are at Disney? Are you planning on live reports???

Can you tell I am anxious to go too?

Well my steak is cooking....sophie is complaining that she wouldn't eat steak so she wanted chicken & stars soup. So I make her that & she is crying that she doesn't like it.

Daniel wants to TRY some but won't eat more than a bite so he's eating soup too (but he likes it) Katie has been a witch on wheels all day long She refuses to take swimming lessons if she has to go with her brother & sister since they are so much younger than her...Well hello??? She can't swim so where should she go..the advanced class???

& she is eating soup too. They keep coming in to me to tattle on each other about what the other is doing at the table. I swear I am going to pull my hair out!!!!!

Chanon & Janet,
Oh man am I going to enjoy our time in December!!!!!!

Wow, your kids do that too?!?!? Mine love steak though, and would balk at the chicken noodle soup. :rotfl:

Random question, why leave the oven door cracked?
Um, because that's how my mom always did it? :confused3

I like to leave it open to keep an eye on it and to let the air circulate, preventing the broiler from getting too hot and burning the food.
