Elizabeth, more good thoughts for your mom. :wizard:

The MUGA scan takes 3 hours and my mom had to have 2, the first to make sure the heart could handle the chemo and the second to make sure the chemo didn't do a lot of damage to the heart.

The shelf price I saw on the empty shelf at Target and ToysRUs was 89.99. I would love to get it at $10 off that. But at this point I would take it at regular price too.
Well, do you want to make a run to Costco tomorrow? For some reason I thought I saw the shelf price at Target as $80.

Happy Birthday Katie.

We don't belong to Costo... no need for bulk buying with just two of here anymore. Besides, I teach tomorrow for most of the day. When were you thinking of going?

I will read this when I get home from rehearsal. See you all later on tonight!

I don't either but I have a $50 gift card for there. I can use it without membership but then I have to pay the balance opp. If I head over there I could grab one for you too, if you want.

Elizabeth - I'm glad you finally heard from the oncologist. However, I don't know if it's good news or bad, or maybe just questions finally answered.

Robyn - I hope Molly enjoys her night with Emma and the cousins.

Well, it's a little bit of bad news because she had nodal extension in one of the positive nodes. That means the cancer cells have broken free of the lymph node and are on their way somewhere else. :guilty: Hopefully the chemo will eradicate them.

Robyn - Hope Mo has fun! :)

He said they will do one now, and another after her first 2 infusions to make sure it is OK to do the last 2 infusions. So far it looks like a pretty solid treatment plan. Nothing is jumping out at me as being wrong/funny/not what I thought it would be.

Elizabeth I am sorry to hear this, I do pray the chemo stops the cells from spreading.

Robyn,
I am not sure if they will let me know what was wrong with the sunscreen or not..I am just glad I am getting a refund though.

Thanks, guys! :)
I tried to call Mom on my way home from work but her phone was off. I need to try again.

I'm kind of a NOW, NOW, NOW person myself, Elizabeth. :rotfl:

By the way, we are no longer staying in Topeka. We decided to add a little to the drive that day so that the next would be shorter. We'll now be in Salina, KS instead.

Matthew saw something about a drive-in called Bobo's in Topeka on Diners, Dives, and Drive-ins. Know anything about it or what kind of area it is in?
I'll be going around Salina one Saturday :P

Mom is still in the hospital. She got her PEG tube put in today so at least she can get some nourishment. She kept pulling her NG tube out even though she was restrained.
She seems to be doing a little better, but this procedure kind of backslid her a little bit. Hopefully once some of the meds wear off, she will be a little more lucid.

Great pics Tammi, your kids are looking so grown up.
I know that it seems that Leighanna is growing up faster too. She has been at her other Grandmas house the last three days, and when I picked her up she just looks different. I really missed her and we spent some time getting caught up on hugs and tickles.

Thanks for all the good thoughts for Mom. They seem to be helping tremendously!

Have a great night all!

Hi Deb!!! How's it going?? How's the weather? Crowds? I'm not going to ask if you are having fun. I'm sure that's a given!

Hello All

We are having a great vacation. We've been so busy that we have not had internet access at all until tonight. We sent the family off to the airport at 6 PM so we are hanging out here tonight catching up on bills and photopass etc. The weather has been wonderful with very little rain. My family behaved well and we survived with limited stress. I must say that it was much more tiring than when it's just the 5 of us. I didn't even take notes or write my nightly trip report. I have a feeling that a trip report may not happen as my recollection of events fades quickly and one day runs into another.

Vicki has the link to our photopass photos so hopefully she will find time to share if you care to see the photos. There are over 800 on there now, but as I've started to look through them I realized that some are duplicates. I emailed photopass to see if they can delete the doubles without losing any others. We'll see how that works out.

Prayers and/or pixie dust to those that need it. I don't have time to catch up or really read at all. Is there anything that I should know?

Congratulations to Amy and Kevin. Jen told me that Noah was a little firecracker

The crowds have been manageable though the Magic Kingdom was crazy busy today. We've been sure to be at a park at opening and we get as much done as possible before it gets too hot in the afternoon. We actually haven't spent many evenings in the parks as my brother's family headed back to the resort to swim or sleep early. We have seen Fantasmic and the nighttime parade at MK. We've seen a couple of versions of MK fireworks including the amazing July 4th show. They actually tested it earlier in the week so we saw it a couple of times. It might be the best fireworks display we've ever seen.

As soon as went back to get Princess from her crib the oncologist called. Luckily she just sort of hung out in her room with me while I talked to him.

They are starting Mom on Adriamycin/Cytoxan. That chemo will be one infusion every 2 weeks for 4 cycles. After that she will be on weekly infusions of Taxol for 12 weeks. After that she will start radiation. The oncologist was very nice.

The first thing is for Mom to get a MUGA score to make sure her heart can tolerate the Adriamycin. The girls on the breast cancer thread call it the "red devil". It causes cardiac damage. :guilty:
If her MUGA score is good she will go to the surgeon to have a port put in. There is no way she can go without a port for 16 chemo infusions. If all goes as planned she will probably have her first infusion next week.

So there you have it!

Elizabeth -- the port is an easy procedure and will make life so much easier for your Mom. PD that the test goes well, port goes in, and chemo gets started ASAP. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Happy Birthday Katie.

Heidi -- very cute!

Happy Birthday to Katie!

Deb -- glad you're having a great time! PD for continued magic and fun.

Tom -- sending more PD for your Mom.

Tomorrow will be a long day. I have work, physical therapy, pick the kids up from swimming, then I need to get some fruit and veggies to take to my friend who is my age with colon cancer, then Andrew has a game at 8:30 or 9. I hope his confidence has improved.

Have a good evening everyone! :)
